Weekend Roundup

Another weekend came and went dumping us into mid-February and speeding toward March :-) Our weekend was good.

Friday, I got my hair done, and came home to the coffee table being delivered. And…the coffee table is not warped! We are very happy and glad to have that done. Full credit to the furniture company for taking care of this, it’s much appreciated. Back to my hair — my hairdresser and I made a plan to do a heavy weave in six weeks (when the gray is grown out enough for her to weave it), beginning a process of growing out my gray. Right now, I’m excited about that, but we’ll see how it goes. After all that I made cupcakes for BLB. I resorted to simple gluten and dairy free chocolate ones because I could not get an ingredient I needed to make the S’more Cupcakes.

Saturday, I made the frosted and iced the cupcakes. We went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant that Youngest chose. Then youngest and his wife came back to our house for gifts, cupcakes and dairy free ice cream. They were both very happy with the cupcakes so that’s good. Youngest took a box of extra ones home with him. Overall we had a great time. Oh and youngest loved the new tables which was nice to hear after the all the drama,

Sunday tested my frustration but it was just normal stuff annoying me. On the upside, I did get my freezer cleaned out so I got to cross one item off a much longer to-do list. Sometime we take the small wins!

How was your weekend?

Yay for the end of the coffee table drama! When you said “weave,” I thought for a minute that your hairdresser was going to add a weave to your hair–you know, one of those hair piece thingies. I let my hair go gray back in my 30s when it first started. Luckily, my hair looked frosted/ash blond until I finally cut it short. Now it’s all silver. LOL I bet your hair will look great and it’s so much easier–and better for your hair–to not do the whole color thing. Yay for birthday yummies and good family time! Sorry for the frustrations but big YAY! for the clean freezer.

I know aalllll about the frustration. I was in formatting hell from Thursday on. I finally got stuff “fixed” at 8 p.m. last night and hit submit. Funnily, it wasn’t even the new release. It was a book that should have been in print 2 years ago but stuff happened. Anyway, the new book MOONSTRUCK: RETRIBUTION is live for preorder and it will have a print copy once it clears quality control. The older book, GHOSTS & THE ANCIENT STONES (Penumbra Papers) will have a print eventually. I still have to get the 3rd Moonstruck Genesis book set up for print. I somehow dropped the ball on it, too. Not today. Today I’m brain fried.

In other news, I did take a break to watch Stormy play soccer. His team was leading until the end, despite the lousy refereeing. They lost 7-6 to a team a year older in age, size, and experience and with players who grabbed arms and pulled and intentionally tripped our kids without getting called for it. Also, Stormy grew half an inch taller in a week and a half size in his shoes since Christmas. He is now 4’11 1/2″. Yikes!

Oh, I also watched my OSU Cowgirls play softball in a tournament. They won some, lost some, had two come-from-behind walk-off homerun wins. We’ve started calling them the Cardiac Cowgirls!

On that note, I’m basically 4 days behind on emails and stuffs. This morning was Wallyworld. This afternoon is catch up. Tomorrow? Probably back to work on advertising and tracking down whether Betrayal was ever in print and the ‘Zon just didn’t repopulate it when they shut down Createspace. Gah!

    Have a great week, all!

Yes! Getting your hair done! Love that you have a plan to try something new. What will the weave be like? Just weaving in more hair or colors?

BLB must have been very happy with his cupcakes. You’re a great mom to have extras for him to take home.

Isn’t it nice when the kids notice something and have a nice comment about it? Sounds like you’re very happy with the tables.

We had really crummy weather with ice and snow and wind and super cold. Other than that the weekend was normal.

I hope that Monday has the week off to a great start!

Silver, LOL!! Weave is an older term, I think. Anyhow, it’s going to blend the gray I have with darker strands. I’m pretty much salt and pepper now — so like that. For the record, I was graying early and for many years, we just added highlights and it all blended fine.

Wow you did have frustrations! I’ll take mine — they were just me not getting as much done as I wanted because the world chooses not to organize itself around my lists. Yours were much more aggravating. But you won against your frustrations and got much of it done! Congrats!

If I remember right, I had to “prompt” Amazon to pull in a few of my Create Space books, but I can’t remember how I did it — and I’m sure that’s all changed by now anyway. You’ll get it sorted out.

Cardiac Cowgirls made me chuckle! AT least the games aren’t dull.

So sorry Stormy’s team is dealing with blind refs. It’s infuriating.

Whoa, Stormy’s growing so tall so fast!!! I feel for Only trying to keep the kid in clothes and shoes that fit! Also, Stormy seems to be handling with growth spurts well and still do great in sports. Many kids go through some clumsy fazes as they learn to adjust in taller bodies. He’s a gifted athlete!

Looks like you have a very busy week! Hope you got everything done you wanted to today.

Viki, the way she showed me, it’ll be a salt and pepper thing, then my hair will grow out. We will have to adjust as we go, but I’m happy to try something new.

Thanks, but BLB and his wife enjoy the stuff I make so I like doing it for them. And yeah, we are happy with the tables :-) It’s taken more than two years, but we’re making steady progress and having fun doing it — most of the time.

Now I feel guilty as we had a beautiful weekend, and you had snow ice and wind. Hope you get a nicer week ahead!
