I finished the book “Love Mom” by Ilana Xander and really liked it. It had a lot of twists in the second half that kept me riveted. Right now I’m listening to “The Teacher” by Frieda McFadden. It’s a mystery and typically getting more interesting as I read. And I’m starting a political book on my Kindle that I was excited to read and now rethinking. It’s not the writing, it’s just that I follow politics in real life and may need to read other things for a mental break. I’m considering reading “Careless People” by Sarah Wynn-Williams but need to take a closer look before I decide. I’m so picky, lol!
It’s raining here. It’s fine, but it also makes me realize I’m not cut out to live in locations like Seattle where it rains and is generally gloomy (I think, I’ve never actually lived there!) so much of the time On the other hand, the heat here lasts so long, so…there’s always weather to gripe about!
What are you all reading?

I’ve heard of Frieda McFadden. The UK crime reader group I belong to on FB mentions her a lot. They seem to enjoy her. Rain is perfect reading weather, so yay.
Right now, I’m reading President Fu Manchu by Sax Rohmer. The evil Dr. Fu Manchu is trying to take over the country by inserting his own candidate into the presidential race and as usual, Denis Nyland-Smith is trying to stop him. I love these books, so yay.

Rain is great reading weather. A nice cup of coffee, a comfy seat, Maggie and a book sounds about right.
You’re right, there is always weather to complain about no matter where you live.
I’m giving myself a break from “trying” to read for a few days.
I hope you enjoy your read time 🥰.

B.E., that’s interesting that the UK crime reader group mentions here — I believe she’s an American author, but I’ve often through she writes as if she’s from the UK. She was a physician specializing in brain injury which is interesting too
Sounds like a plot I’d like!! Enjoy your reading time.

Viki, it’s be great to read if I didn’t end up doing a ton of food prep, among other things. But I can read tonight!
I think giving yourself a break is smart. Reading is supposed to be something we enjoy and sometimes our needs change for a while. Best to go with it and be kind to ourselves. You have a lot to deal with daily now.
Hope your day is going well!

I’m late to the party. *big sigh* So glad you’ve got a plethora of reads! And yay for rain. My parents lived in Seattle during the war. They both worked for Boeing. Dad hated it for the rain. Mother thought it was beautiful up there but depressing. (Dad grew up in WY and CO, Mother was Okie born and bred.)
I’m still listening to BONDED IN DEATH. It’s really good but I have to pay attention to it so I don’t miss anything. That’s a good thing but it means I have to concentrate on it instead of other things so my listening time is shortened. Not sure what will come next but I have a little time. There’s still like 4 hours left. LOL

Silver, I’m going to agree with your dad! I like the rain well enough for a few days here and there, but not as much as Seattle gets!
I need to get that book! It sounds good. I have had to back up so many audio books for that reason. Otten it’s Wizard talking to me
Glad you’re enjoying JD Robb’s latest.
