Weekend Roundup

Wow, the storms! I hope everyone is safe from the series of storm, high winds and tornados. I couldn’t believe the news as I read the updates.

Meanwhile here at Witch Central, things have been quiet and somewhat boring. Turbo’s game was cancelled on Saturday because the fields were soaked. I used the day to create brownie fudge chocolate chip cookies. That requires making the brownie batter, and getting it cold enough to scoop into small balls then freeze those. Then make the chocolate chip cookie batter, then form that around the frozen brownie batter, then freezing the dough balls. I baked them the next morning while they were still frozen. I was happy with the results. They are gluten and dairy free so I’ll probably pawn them off on Youngest. But I wanted to see if I could do it, and I did :-)

Sunday was quiet as Wizard went to the track to practice and I’m happy to have him out of the house for a few hours. We’ve been spending a LOT of time together, so I appreciate a break now and again. That gave me a chance to do a little birthday shopping for him, and I bought a couple audio books that were on sale while I was at it. I could have cleaned something, but I didn’t want to, LOL.

Today we have a mild threat of rain, then the rest of the week should be nice. There’s always stuff to do, but who knows if I’ll have the will to do it!

How was your weekend? Seriously, I hope all of you were safe from the storms and tornados, and that you all have power.

That there is some crazy baking skills, Witch! Nice kitchen magic there. Pretty sure you won’t have to twist Youngest’s arm! Too bad about the fields but as long as you got rain without all the bad stuff, that’s a good thing. Yay for track time, alone time, and b-day shopping! Uhm…does he read your blog? Cuz now he’ll know what part of his presents are. Cleaning? What is this cleaning of which you speak?

We got the high wind and fires on Friday. Air quality was awful. We stayed inside. Saturday was cold but Stormy had a soccer match. The wind was still up but not near like on Friday. It was chilly and the kids had trouble any time the ball was kicked high. Sadly, his team lost 4-2.

I had research plans for yesterday but then was notified by a sharp-eyed reader that there were TWO chapter 12s in Part 2 of RETRIBUTION. That has now been fixed. I hope people will download the updated ebook. It also meant I had to fix the print copy. I’d done it through D2D and you’re allowed 1 free change every 90 days–which wasn’t until May 15. I spent the $25 to update the files now. There were some other changes I wanted to make because I didn’t realize it at the time. They’re format “bot” turns links into footnotes. I’ll remember that the next time and will remove all the links to my social media and books in the end stuff. Anyway. That took awhile to fix at D2D and the ‘Zon. And left me with a headache. I did manage a little research. I know what the heroine looks like. Progress of a sorts. Things are starting to come together in my head.

Not much else going on. Hot today with more high winds and the same pretty much for the rest of the week. Yippee. Spring in Oklahoma. What can I say?

Have a great week, all! And Happy St. Patrick’s Day! πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

Sorry about Turbo’s game cancellation. With all the rain you’ve been getting it’s no wonder that fields were soaked.

Your cookies sound SO good. Quite a bit of work though. I’m sure BLB will love them.

I feel you on too much together time. Race time must have been good for Wizard too. Good job on shopping and getting yourself a couple books too.

I was locked out of X a few minutes ago. No idea why. I had top authenticate myself and I’m back in with restrictions. Maybe I’ll just ask Elon – WTF did I do🀣? He has been known to respond to people. Oh well.

I have to get my corned beef cooking. Have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Silver, thanks! The cookies weren’t, just time consuming :-) No Wizard usually doesn’t read my blog, but I also doubt he’d be surprised that I did some shopping for him while he was gone. So true on the rain! We really need it, and it’ll help the farmers out in the central valley, and that makes me happy.

Just reading about those changes gave me a headache! I know how time consuming and energy sapping that can be. But yay for the reader alerting you! Love when readers care that much. We’re only human and when we self publish, we’re doing the jobs normally done by multiple people with fresh eyes — mistakes will happen.

I saw the fires. It was crazy bad for many states this last weekend. Staying inside was for the best.

Hopefully Stormy and his team had some fun playing in the otherwise challenging weather conditions.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you too! My fingers tried to type Happy Thanksgiving for no logical reason I can discern, LOL! Hope the winds don’t spark any more fires or cause damage.

Viki, agreed, and getting rained out happens. I doubt Turbo was upset as he had a big birthday party the next day. And it gave his mom more time to do all the party prep!

BLB was pretty excited when I gave them to him. I may or may not hear if he likes them as he’s really deep into tax season. His poor wife is over it, and I don’t blame her! I should make her some special cookies.

It’s great for Wizard to get away and see his friends. He needs a break from life stuff he’s been handling. I all but push him to go so he gets a mental health break.

That’s weird on X, but I’d assume it was just a random algorithm mishap. I don’t have any real experience on X but I’d think there might be some review process you could ask for. It has to be a mistake. And a frustrating one for you — no one likes to feel kicked out!

What a perfect day for corned beef! I haven’t had that in decades. I used to love it. I hope you guys really enjoy it!
