We made it to Turbo’s game. We took Maggie too, but that meant we couldn’t go to Turbo’s house afterward and he was sad about that But he was happy we showed up at his game! He got two single hits, one RBI and two runs scored. He did well, especially since he’s one of the younger players on this team. This, to me, looks like the year that will determine his interest for various reasons. We will see.
So the reason Turbo really wanted us to come over is Uncle Youngest got him a Radio Controlled Truck called a Rustler for his birthday, and he really wanted to show Grandpa and me how good he was getting at driving it. That squeezed my heart hard! We’ll get over there as soon as possible, and we told him that. He accepted it pretty graciously. I was touched that even with a thriving social life at 7, he still wants to see us!
Sunday, I got busy running errands and Wizard wanted the fudge filled chocolate chip cookies, which are a two day process to make, so I’m working on that. My brother in law is home and doing better, and it looks like my sister has it under control. So to no one’s surprise I turned a relaxing day into an exhausting one just doing stuff and forcing in a workout session on top of a two mile walk. Why? I really don’t have a good answer. On the other hand, we got home Saturday around 3ish and I did nothing except cook and clean up dinner after that so maybe it’s how I achieve balance
But when I’m sore today, it’ll be my own fault!
How was your weekend?

Yay for making the ballgame and taking Maggie. BIG YAYS (i wish there was a cheerleader/pompom emoji!) to Turbo for his excellent game. And yes. This year or the next, he’ll start to focus in on what makes him happy. Love that he wants to share his “stuffs” with y’all. It’s a treasure. Yay for Biker Dude getting to come home and of course your sister has it in hand. She’s Biker Witch!
Where do you find the energy? I want some.
We took a roadtrip with Stormy on Saturday. A museum about 45 minutes away held a chuckwagon festival and an authori I know from X was there from Texas to sell/sign her books. Visited and bought one that’s a combo history/cook book about end-of-the-trail cow towns (cattle drives) with authentic chuckwagon recipes. Jake did NOT like the stage gunfight but enjoyed all the other attention. Stormy made a rope and was fascinated by the old farm equipment and the historic village. They’d moved actual buildings onto the museum grounds–cabins, one-room schoolhouse, old bank, etc. It was fun though it was hot and windy. Lots of walking so after we dropped Stormy off to his dad, we headed home and both of us napped.
Other than that, I watched softball and baseball. Listened to my book. Wrote a couple of short scenes. Read some of the detective noir I’m beta reading.
Have a great week, all!

Great news on your BIL. I hope he has a swift recovery and that things aren’t too hard on Biker Witch.
Wow! Turbo had a great game. I’m glad you got to go see him play. If he decided to continue playing or picks a different gig, I’m sure he’ll do well.
That is so sweet how Turbo likes to share his accomplishments with you and Wizard. His truck sounds like fun and I bet Wizard would have a ball with Turbo playing with it.
I did the lasagna yesterday and all went well. The Lemon cake was SO good. I’m glad I picked it up. It saved me time and was good.
I hope your day is going well.

Silver, thanks! Biker Witch does handle it well, but it’s been a lot for her lately. I worry but trust her to let me know when she needs a hand
And yep, Turbo’s really learning in baseball and we’ll see if he continues to like it!
What a fun trip with Stormy! And it sounds like it had something for everyone. Cool that you got to see an author in real life you know on X. The cookbook sounds interesting too. Poor Jake with the gunfire, I wish we could explain to them what it is so they wouldn’t be scared. But glad he got lots of attention otherwise!
Sounds like a good weekend. Oh and energy — I’m doing very little today. It ebbs and flows. I like baking so enjoy that but I don’t like all the standing.
Hope your week is off to a good start!

Viki, we enjoy seeing Turbo play. It’s a most of the day thing but he’s worth it. This Saturday we’re booked, so we’re planning the following Saturday. And thanks on my BIL. He’s been a fighter with some health stuff.
Wizard loves that Turbo is into RC cars/trucks!
I knew your lasagna would come out good! I’m so happy all went well with the gathering too! Its nice when all the hard work pays off in a good time for all.
Happy Monday!
