I’ve nearly finished the memoir by a former FB employee. I don’t have much to say about that book– mainly because I never really feel that I’m getting to know her outside of her role in FB, I can’t quite connect with her as a whole person. That’s just me. I believe others really got a lot out of this book.
I also began an audio nonfiction book on Gulags of all things. I heard about the book, and thought, “Now there’s a word I’ve heard all my life, but I don’t really know a lot about gulags.” Sometimes, I worry about my curiosity, LOL! It takes me some strange places. I’ve been listening to that book on my extra walks with Maggie.
Now I think I’ll look for a lighter book for enjoyment — I need it!
On a separate note, I’ve been listening to some podcasts that have very good debaters, and people who can package facts in very interesting ways. I find this talent both enviable and frustrating But dang, I wish I the ability to absorb that much material, parse it that rapidly and spit it back out in such a compelling, articulate way!
What are you reading and/or listening to?

Yeah…that’s an eclectic selection you’ve got going on.
I’m still listening to the Kate Daniels series in the Graphic Audio full-cast adaptations. Still enjoying them. I’m currently on book 5. There are 10 but I think only 9 have been recorded so far. #9 just dropped last week. Anyway, I can listen to them, enjoy and be doing other stuff because I can just listen and enjoy since I know the story and characters so well.
Enjoy your podcasts! And happy reading, all.

I took my tour of the Gulags when I was in my twenties. I was really big into history back then. You chose a hard subject. Good that you will lighten it up a bit – for your own sanity.
I’m waiting for my copy of Dana Perino’s I Wish Someone Had Told Me: The Best Advice for Building a Great Career and a Meaningful Life to show up. She’s very positive.
Currently I’m falling asleep while holding Sunrise of the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. It’s Haymitch’s story.
I hope you are having a good day.

Silver, I know, LOL. Sometimes my reading is super generic, other times, I get curious
That is the way to listen to books! I have to stop and back up stuff more than I like. But knowing the series that well allows you to get other stuff done. Hope the last book becomes available to you soon!
Today I did listen to podcasts while driving. Hope your day went well too!

Viki, wow! I bet that was so much more impactful to see the gulags in real life. I’m choosing to listen to the book slowly as I feel like it. Otherwise, I mix it up with other stuff.
Once you get a handle on Sunrise of the Reaping, let me know if you like it.
My day is good, hope yours is too!
