Wednesday Reading

Wow, so I haven’t had so much fun reading a book in a long time. We all know humor is subjective, but for me, STORY OF MY LIFE by Lucy Score, was a just what I needed. Fun, sexy and it played a bit with tropes in romance since the heroine is a romance author. This book is written in first person so that will be a nonstarter for some readers. For myself, first person is an “It usually depends on the author’s skill” for me.

Right now, I’m hesitating starting another book to let that hangover feeling subside. But next, I’ll probably read the nonfiction, politically-adjacent books Wizard just finished. It involves first hand experience with the UN, and that’s something I’m happy to learn more about from someone who is has been on the ground there.

So what are you reading?

I’m glad you had such a good experience with the book. First person doesn’t bother me either, as long as it’s done well.

I’m currently trying to read (eye tend to close – snore) Benjamin Halls new book RESOLUTE. It’s the follow-up to his first book about his injury and recovery from the bombing in Ukraine while reporting the war.

I hope your day is a great one!

Viki, I suspect I just needed a light fun read. Right time, right book kind of thing.

Man, I can feel your frustration on falling asleep when trying to read. I have that problem most of the time and am frustrated by it too. I hope you’re enjoying the book when you can stay awake to read.

My days been busier than planned but all good. Hope yours is too! And hope your payment showed up on the website! I was thinking of you yesterday.

I’m slow getting around. My bad. Yay for fun books and smart books and all the books! I finished off the Graphic Audio versions of Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels. One more book in that series to be “converted.” Next up was a newer release from Darynda Jones, GRAVEYARD DOG, a novella in her Charley Davidson series that’s among the setups for her CD next generation trilogy. It was fun. I’m currently listening to AVENGING ANGEL by Kristen Ashley. It’s a repeat but there’s a new release in this spin-off series and it’s been a year so… It’s typical Ashley fare–fun if you’re in the mood for her over-the-top.

    Happy reading, all!

Silver, nothing wrong with going at your own pace.

You really seem to enjoy the Graphic Audio versions! Always good to get a new release from a fave author. And repeats are comforting, plus easy in that we won’t get lost if we miss something on the audiobook if we’re listening while doing other tasks.

I’ll second the Happy Reading for all of us!
