Weekend Roundup

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

We had a grandkids weekend!

Saturday, Turbo and his mom came out. We had a great time! We went to lunch, Wizard began teaching Turbo to drive RC racecars (it’s different than his RC truck). After that we went to the park to play baseball and soccer, and Maggie was thrilled to go too. Everyone but Turbo was worn out after that, LOL! Still charged up, Turbo was examining Wizards Lego Ship he’s building and discovered the solution to a problem Wizard was having. Turbo is something of a Lego’s expert, and also, he has younger eyes that could distinguish between red and orange on the directions :-) We really appreciated Special K bringing Turbo out, and we loved spending the day with her too! I love that she will go out of her way to support our bond with Turbo.

We also got regular updates from Turbo’s Dad and Uncle Youngest — they are having a blast on their trip. I’m quite sure they are decompressing after surviving another tax season. Although, Oldest did send out an alert that the hotel is charging $25.00 per person to use their gym (all my son are obsessed about committed to working out.)

Sunday, we didn’t do a big thing celebrating Easter. Instead, we went out in the morning to visit CeeGee (granddaughter) and her parents.  She was wearing her very first Easter outfit her other Grandma got her and she looked so cute.  CeeGee is just getting more and more fun now. She sits, plays, smiles and chats. She also loves to bounce and is getting super busy– that’ll girl is going to be on the go soon! Wizard and I were playing with her on the floor in her room, and I knew the second her dad came in behind me. CeeGee’s entire face lights up and she gets super happy when she see him. It’s so sweet to see as Middle’s mom. The only bummer is my daughter in law is battling a cold, which they had told us beforehand. Although even while sick, my daughter in law found an Inn for us to hopefully stay at over the 4th of July at a much better price than anything my two days of searching hotels could find! I just need to verify we can get a downstairs room for Wizard and I’ll book it!  Then we beat the worst of the traffic. By the time we got home, the other side of the freeway and the road out of our city were gridlock. That also gave us the rest of the day to relax a little.

How was your weekend and Easter?

What a wonderful, family-filled weekend! Yay for it all.

We had weather so stayed in. Being Easter weekend, no soccer or baseball. Due to chilly temps and lots of rain, the Kids stayed close to home as well. Only is working on her 2nd Masters so she did classwork. Not sure what Stormy and Baseball Boy did. Big storms and flooding overnight between Saturday and Sunday. We watched baseball and softball on TV. LG is having some problems and trying to get into VA for the various tests they insist on running takes time. As a result, we’ll stay low-key for the foreseable future.

    Have a great week!

Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend.

Nice going Turbo! Very smart young man with great eyesight 🥰. He and Wizard must have had a ball together.

The park was a great idea. Lots of stuff to do and fun for Maggie too.

Special K is a dream. It always amazes me how our kids can find deals and we can’t. Sure hope you were able to get a ground floor room.

    CeeGee is a daddy’s girl 💗. That’s so sweet.

Easter was good here. I had dinner early because hubs is at that stage where he eats as early as possible. I was able to hold off until 4:40. Everything turned out great. The day was beautiful too. Couldn’t have asked for better.

I keep checking and The State still hasn’t processed my checks. This gets me all antsy. Try as much as I do, it seems I never succeed with taxes. Paperwork doesn’t come in on time making things last minute and then they sit on the filing ☹️.

I hope your week is off to a great start!

Silver, the weather is really wild in your neck of the woods. Hope it’s calming down.

So sorry for LG’s struggles. While Wizard is okay and not any more limited than normal, we’re going through a long testing process too. It’s probably even more frustrating at the VA. Hope things get resolved soon with as little stress as possible.

I’m so impressed with Only! Two masters is quite an achievement! I’m sure Baseball Boy and Stormy found ways to keep busy.

Happy Monday and hope the weather is playing nice!

Viki, I was able to book it with a request for a first floor, and note that one of us can’t climb stairs. It’ll work out. If we end up upstairs, we’ll figure out the challenge and make it work.

It’s true the kids can find things we don’t, and I’m grateful for their help!

Interesting that hubs wants to eat early. I can see why that would be a bit of a struggle at times. But I’m not at all surprised to hear your dinner came out delicious and appreciated by all! You are accomplished at family dinners. At my house, we all say a prayer it’ll come out :-)

Seriously, you must be so over these tax issues! I hope the check clears today and you can rest easy. It’s just ridiculous. It would have been so much easier if you could have paid electronically and had an instant record.

So far my week is starting off good enough. Hope yours is too!
