Weekend Roundup

Saturday, the electric shade was installed, and…it rained :-) We haven’t had a chance to test it with the sunshine, but so far, we’re very happy. It started to rain half way through the installation, but they toughed it out and finished. We should have some nicer weather this week for the final review.

Talking about weather, it’s been so pretty, with interesting cloudscapes over the hills. The views are beautiful!

Saturday night we went to Youngest’s house. They made steak, cilantro rice and green beans — so good! They had some cookies for dessert and Wizard loved it all. The boys had beers, while I brought some wine for my daughter-in-law and me :-) We had a good time. While there, youngest had a good idea for the one strip of dirt we haven’t done anything with at the very edge of our yard. I’m excited by the unique idea, and hope he’ll do it! Well I’m sure he’ll do it, but it’s a matter of when he has time to do it.

Sunday, we didn’t go to Turbo’s because he was had a playdate at a bounce house. Instead, I baked cookies for youngest because they gave me empty containers form the last time I gave them cookies and suggested I refill them. But haven’t told him yet because I haven’t felt like taking them over to him, LOL. I may get around to it on Sunday after I write this blog…or maybe I’ll drop them off today.

So how was your weekend?

Yay for getting your shade installed but boo for rain. Here’s to more pretty weather for this week. Yay for fun with family and I hope BLB gets a chance to implement his idea soon. Bummer about not getting to see Turbo. And lol about the cookies. I hope you got a chance to drop them off.

The weekend here was pretty good. I trapped Hubs in my flurry of cleaning yesterday and he ended up vacuuming the office while I vacuumed the rest of the house. (Don’t feel bad for me. The office is huge and there’s a lot of stuff to move.) Then I made a pizza. It was the best one yet, if I do say so myself. I’m paying for both the cleaning and the kneading this morning, but it was worth it.

Good way to find out if the shade is waterproof…
    Yay for cloudwatching.
Yay for family time, good food, good ideas, and COOKIES!

We had rain. LOTS of rain. Needed, but definitely indoor time and with flashflooding, no traveling. No soccer. Got my sports fix by watching TV. My Cowgirls did pretty well, as did my Cardinals. More wins than losses.

I listened to some more Kristen Ashley books.

    It rained.

I watched the Memorial Marathon. Now that’s over and I think I’m ready to get back into things. We’ll see. It might take one more day.

    Have a great week, all!

Wow, that was quick on getting the shade installed. You’re all going to love it.

Sounds like you had a good weekend.

I didn’t do much. It rained like crazy Friday night and part of Saturday. Needless to say I didn’t put up the hanging feeder/basket hooks. The ground was a swamp.

Today has been a beautiful blue sky day. The leaves are sprouting on the trees and my allergies are letting me know it.

I hope you get the strip of undeveloped yard done as BLB suggested.

    Have a great day!

B.E., youngest got his cookies! Maggie and I took them over there.

Housecleaning can be contagious sometimes! We often split the vacuuming in a similar way. And yay for the best pizza yet! Sorry you’re paying for all the cleaning and kneading today. It’s a sad fact of life once we get to midlife and beyond.

Hope you’re getting a little rest today!

Silver, LOL!! The shade is waterproof :-)

Hopefully all this rain is helping the drought. But so much rain sure can cause other issues. Staying inside and not traveling is smart. And you got to watch sports on TV with more wins than losses so that’s a positive!

Yay for Kristen Ashely reads (or listens).

I looked up the Memorial Marathons and loved the concept! Hope the rain didn’t cause any problems for that! It’s a great cause, and it’s important to remember.

A transition day back to getting things done is probably a good idea.

    Happy Monday!

Viki, it was fast. We were surprised but happy. I’m sure the shade will be a bit help. For various reasons we didn’t get it dark but it should filter the sun well while letting in some light.

I’m sorry the rain ruined your plans. Maybe later this week or next weekend when the ground dries out you can do the hooks for the feeder and basket.

Ugh on the allergies but yay for beautiful days and new sprouts on plants. Spring brings beauty back to winter’s gray.

BLB said he’ll come by and we’ll discuss and measure. Hopefully next weekend. It’s a strip of redwood deck and it’s really finish off our space. It’s so fun when others come up with the right solution we’ve been searching for.

I’m having an easy day getting some things done and happily ignoring other things. Hope your day is going just the way you want it too!
