So I finished the Nikki Haley book. I did learn some things about the way the UN works. Otherwise, the book didn’t excite me much, but it was worth a read since I am interested in geopolitics.
This week, I started a book I’m loving. It’s an older young adult dystopian novel, and I’m hooked. The title is THE GIVER by Lois Lowry. I wouldn’t have found this book if I hadn’t seen it on a display table when I was waiting for my sister at Barnes and Nobles. I meant to pick it up and buy it when I left (after we had coffee there), but for various reasons that include laziness, I didn’t. I did however remember the title, and bought in on my Kindle later that night. Technology has its advantages. And we do buy a fair amount of books from B&N too, so I don’t feel too bad about that.
What are you reading?

The Giver is a very well written book. So many of my middle students and their teacher were talking about it that I snapped it up years ago—like 1999. Its a book that will stay with you for a long time.

Yay for finding interesting books to read! Right now, I’m in the middle of a funny dystopian called Bill and the Last Cup of Coffee. It’s fun and seems to be well written, so yay. The last book I tried was poorly formatted, so despite the interesting premise (SF crime done in the old Mickey Spillane way) I didn’t get very far. And I got the edit suggestions from my beta reader last night, so I’ll be working on my own book for the foreseeable future. I’m hoping to get it published sometime in the next couple weeks. Yay!

I glad you got something out of Nikki’s book. Learning the inner workings of the UN would interest me too but I’m not sure I could get through her book. I may check it out.
Aren’t readers great💗? Sounds like the book is just what you needed after the Nikki read.
I’m working on Dana Perino’s book I WISH SOMEONE HAD TOLD ME. It’s good.
Have a great day!

Y’all are reading such interesting things. LOL I’m in this weird headspace at the moment so I’m on the last of 4 books in another Kristen Ashley series (Dream Man)–MOTORCYCLE MAN. It’s the lead-in for her Chaos MC series. Not sure I’ll go there. The newest Nalini Singh Guildhunter/Archangel book just dropped so it might be next. We’ll see. I’ll definitely need to be in the right headspace for it.
Happy reading, all!
