Weekend Roundup

The weekend was mixed.

The good parts:

I made cookies for Youngest. Gluten and Dairy free sugar cookies with a brownie inlay, then frosted and topped with chopped chocolate. He liked them! Saturday, he was at the house all day working on the deck. I did a few things to help, and I’m sure the cookies paid him fairly for all his labor, right? :-) This deck is going to be exactly what we want. But dang, the digging and leveling is going to take a couple months of Saturdays. Here’s a pic, hopefully he won’t care that I posted it.

Sunday Wizard went to practice racing with Turbo. And I stayed home to do stuff. By the way, Turbo is doing awesome and Wizard thinks he’s ready to race now. I love this so much for Wizard and Turbo.

The mixed bag in the weekend is some other stuff in one of our families. We all have families and know about worry. Especially when it’s hard to really see the future…where’s my powers when I need them?

Today I’m going to the dentist for a routine cleaning, then I’m  leaving from there to go hang out with my granddaughter, CiGi.  One of their dogs needs a procedure done, so I’m going to keep CiGi entertained while my daughter-in-law takes care of that. I’ll stay as long as she needs help, and I’m also happy to hang out with the dogs too. They have two dogs, so Hazel my be concerned that Jett’s gone getting treatment for a while and I can reassure her. I expect it all to go fine.

How was your weekend?

Lookin’ good, BLB! The cookies sound awesome and I’m sure they were more than enough payment. Yay for Turbo and Wizard! Turbo will treasure these memories for the rest of his life. Sorry you have family stuff going on in the background. (Been there, am there, want the t-shirt so I can be done with it.) Have fun with CiGi and Hazel, and I hope the procedure goes okay for Jett. :hugs:

It was HOT here. Not as hot as it can be, but a preview of the rest of the summer. I stayed inside for the most part and didn’t do much of anything. I did take a walk around the neighborhood and did some recon on the lake levels and goings on. Nothing much to report there – the lake is going down and no goings on. All in all, a pretty boring life.

It made me happy to see that BLB is so smart to be covered up in the sun. He is a great guy building your deck. You will get the deck you want 😊.

Good mom paying son with yummy cookies. If I remember his birthday cakes when he was younger, these cookies are very mild 😂.

Turbo and Wizard racing together is the sweetest thing. It must make everyone so happy that the two of them have this special time.

Oh YES! CiGi time and Hazel time too. I bet you had a blast.

This weekend the heat and humidity decided to set in. It is YUCKY here. Tried to stay in as much as possible. Hubs kept going out. I know he’s always cold but that’s a mask. This type of heat is dangerous for people like him but getting him to listen is very hard.

C and C picked the date for next May. She couldn’t get a venue, which was shocking. But there is this little winery here and she loves the place. They told her no. Well her best friend knows the owner and called him. He gave them the spot. This place is so small they have no food, only wine and pretzels so it’s all food trucks. Should be fun.

    Have a great afternoon!

Wait. It’s Monday? *flail* Distractions. All sorts of them. I’m only just now plowing through the blog roll. It took me over an hour to catch up on emails.

Weekend. There was one. I sort of had the world stuff on my bingo card. It was hot. We mostly stayed in. The local basketball team won the NBA championship. Big parade tomorrow. I won’t be anywhere near it. 500K people? Yeah…that’s a big ol’ NOPE!

I listened to a book, watched the news, caught up on one night of On Patrol Live via DVR, and…didn’t do much of anything else.

The big thing happened today. It’ll be on Friday’s list for sure. It’s also in my blog tomorrow.

Other than that, things are copecetic. You have an awesome family. Youngest looks like his dad. Yummy cookies. Poor Jett but yay for CiGi and Hazel time!

    Have a great week all!

B.E., thanks on BLB! The procedure did go well for Jett and he was resting fine when I left. CiGi was laughing and hilarious today. I haven’t seen her laugh that hard yet — so cute.

Sorry for the heat. If you’re anything like me, it gets harder to tolerate, so staying inside makes sense.

Low lake levels probably aren’t a good sign for fishing. I’m kind of surprised — it seems like you have had a lot of rain. But it sounds like you’re getting your walks in!

BLB does a good job of covering up and he hydrates really well. The heat doesn’t bother him if he’s working. LOL on his cakes when he was young — more was always better with him. He definitely has toned it down a bit.

CiGi was the cutest thing ever today. Such a joy. Hazel was a bit worried about Jett, but much happier once he was home. All went well for him.

I’m really sorry for the icky heat. And you’re right, it’s not a joke. And since Hubs sounds like he’s having trouble regulating body temp, he won’t recognized signs that the heat’s getting to him. I hope you can convince him to listen.

I kind of love your soon to be daughter in law for picking a small winery! Some would wait another year and spend a fortune, which is fine for them. But this will be a lovely, intimate wedding the reflects both their personalities and style. I love it! Then venues being booked up doesn’t surprise me (at least it wouldn’t for Southern Ca), but that’s cool that she had connections to get that spot! It’s going to be a fun and exciting year getting everything planned!

Hope you get some nicer days coming your way!

Silver, I’m late getting here too. It’s a Monday thing (and I was gone all day).

The heat is definitely a limitation on outdoor activities. At least you had the NBA Championship. WHOA!!! 500K people at a parade??? I’d avoid that too.

Sounds like you had a relaxing weekend.

Hmmm…big thing? I hope I remember to go to your blog tomorrow once I get home from stupid stuff like grocery shopping. I need to know!

Yep, youngest definitely looks like Wizard. I’ve been really noticing it more in the last couple years. Jett is home and doing fine so far.
