Tuesday was a mentally draining day. They happen to us all — it’s a life thing. But the bright spot was definitely seeing Cigi on Monday! And today is a new day, with (hopefully) renewed energy. Now let’s talk books!
I stumbled on a nonfiction, THE SCIENCE OF STUCK: BREAK THOUGH INERTIA TO FIND A PATH FORWARD by Britt Frank. I’m not big into pop psychology but I liked what I read about this book, so I’m giving it a try. So far…it’s not bad. I’ve read about a fifth of it so far, and find it easy to read, pieces of it resonate, other pieces feel a bit simplistic or pop-psychologyish, but overall I’m liking the message of this book so far. I was curious if this book had any useful tips or tools for writers to get over “being stuck.” I’ll have to get back to you all on my conclusion.
I just bought an audiobook, GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL LIFE by Emily Henry, who is an author I like, and has a narrator I really like. But I haven’t started listening to that yet.
What are you reading?

I’m reading “A Daughter’s Guide to Mothers and Murder” by Dianne Freeman. It’s the eighth book in the Countess of Harleigh Victorian Mystery series. They are all delightful. This one is shaping up to follow the rest with the main suspect being none other than Sarah Bernhardt.

Let me know how the self-help goes. I’m interested. I finished off the newest Jayne Castle release, IT TAKES A PSYCHIC. I’ve decided to jump back a couple of books in the series and I’m relistening to GUILD BOSS. I love her Harmony series books. Fun stuff. No clue where I’ll go after I finish it. We’ll see what pops up on my radar. LOL
Sorry for the life stuff but yay fo CiGi time and glad that Jett is all better! I bet Hazel was happy to have her buddy back.

I finished “It Takes a Psychic” last week. Really enjoyed the story and the dust bunnies.

Sorry about Tuesday. Days like that are awful. It’s nice that CiGi brings things back full circle.
The Science of Stuck sounds interesting. I would think there would be little helpful hints for writers.
I finally got Joey Jones’ book and it’s good.
Still yucky humid here though less hot. It’s down to 89F. Summer lovin’ not for me 😉.
I hope your day is going well.

Marianne, “It Takes A Psychic” looks really good. I grabbed a sample to remind me to look at it later (it’s a process that works for me, LOL).
“A Daughter’s Guide to Mothers and Murder” has a great title! Sounds like you’re enjoying it.
I originally put Have a good weekend, because yesterday melted my brain. Now I’ve recovered and will say: Happy Wednesday!

Silver, I will, since writers are famous for getting stuck
I didn’t read last night — Wizard and I shut down life and watched a movie.
Now I feel the need to read “IT TAKES A PSYCHIC” I may take that one on our mini trip around the Forth.
I think we’re all incredibly relived Jett’s home, and hoping for good news on some testing in a week or two, but the first hurdle is done. He’s also CiGi’s partner in crime these days
Hope LG is feeling better these days.
Edited because I originally put, “Hope you have a good weekend” and then realized today is Wednesday! So let’s Try Happy Hump Day instead!

Viki, those day due suck, but at least I am old enough to recognize that they will pass. Both Wizard and I slept last night and feel better.
I’ll let you know when I finish the book.
Oh good!! I know you’ve been looking forward to that book. I hope it’s even better than you expected.
I think I’d rather have the heat thnt the humidity. You have my sympathy!
Enjoy your evening…and I just realized I’m telling everyone to have a good weekend and it’s Wednesday. IT’s been a week! Now I need to go edit those answers, LOL! Happy Wednesday!
