The weekend was hot. Summer seems to be digging in now.
Friday, I got my hair done! Three and half hours. But I really like it. I’ve never been so harsh on my hair, but now it’s an all gray (think silver) base, with dark ash blonde lowlights. From here on in, I’ll just need to touch up the lowlights now and again. My hair is tolerate all the abuse pretty well.
Saturday, Youngest came over, and I have no idea how he works in the heat. He dug out the second half of the deck and set in the base (which is basically the frame beneath the deck). So the worst part is done! It’s really coming along. I helped him when he needed it, and by the time he left I was covered in dirt However I spent much of the time inside making him Mocha Espresso Bars. Which I decided to do just that morning. And naturally I chose I complicated cookie bar. And yet, I still did not work as hard as Youngest did!
Sunday, Wizard went racing with Turbo. Turbo got second place!!!! That’s absolutely amazing for his very first time racing. I was dancing for joy when they told me!!! Turbo’s grin on the winner podium for the top three said it all! Grandpa came home beaming with pride! Picture below — Turbo is on the left. Middle is first place and right is third place.
I spent my day doing boring stuff like taking the shorts back all the way back to the store (it’s about 45 minutes away). They, of course, didn’t have the smaller size I need. So I went to another store and bought some cheap shorts and they’ll have to do. It’s hard to find shorts here once it’s actually hot.
This weekend is getting ready for the trip with Middle, his wife, CiGi and the dogs, including Maggie. We’re looking forward to it.
But I’d also love to find some free chunks of time in my day to work on my blog. There’s a ton of back end work I want to do before I get it up and running. Isn’t this always how life goes — make plans and things will happen to get in the way But there’s no real rush.
How was your weekend?

Yes. It’s hot. Nuff said.
Yay for the hair though. I remember when I quit dying my and just let the gray/silver take over. Made me happy when it was finally long enough to cut off and just be silver. Only inherited my hair and now she’s doing the same–at about the same age.
Yay for youngest. He’s such a keeper! Also, yay for Mocha Espresso Bars. Those sound yummy!
Turbo is a natural! I mean, his name IS Turbo.
So happy for him and I’m sure Wiz was lighting up the whole West Coast with his Grandpa Beams!
I didn’t do much this weekend. It was sweatin’-ugly hot. I’d been rolling along on the WIP, started a new chapter, got about 25% written and then discovered that was an oops. There needed to be an intervening chapter. I took Sunday off to think about what to put in there. I also watched some stuff on the DVR to clear up space. We were down to 32% of like 2000 hours.
It’s still hot but not AS hot as last week so there’s that. I started out today with good intentions and then stuff happened to distract me. Ah well.
Have a great week!

I’m so happy to hear that you’re loving your hair and that it’s going to be so much easier to keep up with. Always a plus.
The photo is super cool. Go Turbo! Wizard has taught him well 💗.
BLB is a trooper. I’m like you and can’t figure out how our boys tolerate that horrid heat. Being young helps, but still – yikes. Those bars sound yummy.
You are so right about trying to fins things that fit. I’ve pretty much given up and will just buy cheap shorts at Walmart. I’ve also been known to buy size 14/16 girls clothes. They size them strange too.
My weekend was pretty much normal except……………Our weather people (all four stations) said there would be no rain on Saturday until after 7 pm. So I head to pick up the shirt I bought hubs at Kohl’s and then go the Wally. They’re in the same spot. I come out of Kohl’s and the sun is shining and so I leave my sunroof and windows cracked open while I go into Wally. Yup – A cloud burst. I spent five minutes trying to wipe up all the water before heading home in the torrential rain. The rest of the weekend was fine.
I sure hope you found that block of time and got to work on your blog a bit.
Have a great afternoon!

Silver, I say we should all do whatever we want with our hair and move onto living our lives
Thanks, Turbo does seem to be naturally skilled, but the best part is this is something Grandpa and he can share. I just love it in a way that you’re all tired of hearing about, LOL.
I feel big sympathy for you on the heat, although you probably have more humidity which makes it even worse. Great that you got a good start on a new chapter, but of course you found a problem. But it sounds like you have it under control.
If it makes you feel any better, we don’t even have a DVR :-).
Ah, yes, distractions. I’m well acquainted with them! Hope overall your Monday is going well.

Viki, Wizard was just like BLB working in the heat in the first half of our marriage. And Middle Son is like that too. I guess they adjust to the heat or something. Oldest likes temp controlled environments, LOL!
The clothes that fit battle is tiring, isn’t it?
Wow you had to be so shocked when you came out of Walmart!!! I’m so sorry that happened. And what a pain to deal with. But it sounds like it wasn’t enough to cause any lasting damage to the car.
I hope you are having a good Monday!
