I finished THE THINGS WE LEAVE UNFINISHED by Rebecca Yarros and really enjoyed it. I don’t have another book I’m committed to reading just yet. I started a Kindle sample of a nonfiction, and soon got lost in the weeds. That is the issue with historians sometimes — they can really get lost trying to tell the backstory of every single tree in the forest. I didn’t buy that book as I just don’t have the mental space to weed through so much backstory exposition before we even get to the main point of the book. On the other hand, life has felt a little chaotic due to extended family stuff, so my focus and patience is definitely off.
Today I’m going to my GP for ongoing bloody nose issues. I’m hoping to get this taken care by the end of the year — as in get a referral to an ENT who can hopefully cauterize and eventually stop the surprise explosions of flowing red drama that freaks out onlookers But in our area, finding and actually getting into an ENT’s office is a months long wait, so we’ll see. In the scheme of things, this is small, annoying and inconvenient problem to have. Also, sorry if this is TMI. I’m just used to it now and may be immune to the unpleasantness of hearing about it. The good news is, if you’re with me and need a Kleenex, I probably have a bunch!!
Are you reading or listening to anything good?

Glad you enjoyed the Yarros book. Sorry about the non-fiction but I totally get that whole wading through the weeds thing! Sorry for the family stuffs and good luck on the ENT. The nose thing is an on-going situation that’s no fun. 🤞🏼 you get an appointment soon.
I’m still recommending Kenyon’s book from last week. It’s easy to get lost in–in a good way. I’m currently on book 3 of the McKenzie Hunter Legacy series. My only “complaint” is that each book ends without really tying up any threads. It’s a non-cliffhanger cliffhanger, if you get what I mean. If I didn’t have the next books to roll immediately into, I might have stopped after the 1st despite liking her voice, the characters and the world. One more book to go with this and then I’m not sure. The new Psy-Changeling from Nalini Singh has hit, along with the new Black Arrow Pack from Dannida Dark. I also have Nalini’s latest Archangel/Guildhunter book but I’m just not in the headspace for it yet. Long story.
Anyway, I hope you find something to read for those moments when you need a little mini-vacation.
Happy Hump Day and happy reading, all!

I’m glad you enjoyed Yarros’ book did you know THE THINGS WE LEAVE UNFINISHED is coming to the big screen! She posted it earlier today.
I hope you have success with a new ENT. It’s a pain in the butt having nose bleeds all the time.
I have to run. A thunderstorm just started.
Have a great day!

Silver, thanks! Dr Appt went well. I like our GP, he gets to the point. Once my insurance approves it, I’ll get a scan done, see what that looks like and probably go to an ENT.
I just started the sample for HOUSE OF FIRE AND MAGIC. I read the first chapter and liked it. I imagine I’ll buy it when I’m done with the sample. But that is unusual that she doesn’t do a more compelling cliffhanger. Maybe with her following, she doesn’t have to do it that way? I mean who am I to argue with her success!
Well I get not being in the right headspace for certain books, but long story???? Maybe it’ll be in Friday Five? Although some stories don’t get to be shared, so I understand that too.
Hope you’re having a good Wednesday!

Viki, no I didn’t know that! How wonderful for her!
The doctor visit was good. He’s getting right on it with scans, so that’s good. We also talked about my hip, and I’m confident I’m doing the right thing and can otherwise ignore it. Not sure I wanted to hear that I can do MORE squats than I’m currently doing, LOL! I probably won’t take that advice.
Hope the thunderstorm doesn’t cause you any hassles. Stay safe!
