Weekend Roundup

We had a good weekend. Saturday was the pool party at Youngest Son’s house.  That was a blast. Youngest has a waterproof vlogging (video) camera, and Middle Son used it to capture himself doing summersaults into the pool. That was amazing to see from the video perspective, even under water. By the way, Middle Son is a total ham, just like his adorable daughter, Cigi. Of course, Cigi was the star of the day (Turbo wasn’t there, he had friend’s birthday party). FYI, my sons and daughters in law made fun of me, saying “Don’t let Cigi see Grandma or she’ll just want her.” Um…how was this supposed to upset me? LOLOL! Cigi loves everyone and spent time with them all, I just can just usually coax her to come to me. It’s a Grandma Superpower :-)

Second fun thing, I was bugging them all about going stand up paddleboarding with me. Middle insisted that he’s the best paddleboarder and he’ll teach me. His wife said he’s good at paddleboarding but sucks at teaching because he just goes…and would leave me behind, so she should teach me.  When middle balked, she asked him who taught him. He shut up then, since she taught him how to paddleboard! Yep, that’s my utterly ridiculous family. Anyway, hopefully we will go paddleboarding before summer is over, and I’m going to drag Youngest daughter-in-law with us because it’s her kind of thing even if she doesn’t know it yet. And probably Youngest son too, so he can watch Cigi at the beach (he’ll volunteer for that!).

Sunday, Wizard went racing with Turbo and Oldest Son. He fixed up a car for Oldest Son so he can race too, and last I heard — both Turbo and his Dad had qualified in first place in two different qualifiers. We’ll see what happens in the single main race. Wizard told me he wasn’t going to race as he would end up being Head Coach and Mechanic fixing both Turbo and Oldest Son’s cars. I think he’s enjoying his coaching/mechanic job as much as he enjoys racing. Update: Turbo came in second place against five other adults!! His dad placed after him, but I’m not sure where yet. Here are father and son, both clearly having fun!

This week we need to buy some rock to go around our new deck now that it’s all sealed and done. I’m still thinking about some kind of patio cover or pergola…but our budget tells me it won’t be happening soon. Budget is a total buzzkill.

How was your weekend?

Yay for pool parties! Does Middle have a ticker-tocker to post to? I think you’d be wise to learn from middle DIL and definitely get the two Youngest involved. Yay for raicing! That’s cool that Turbo is placing against adults. Little dude has talent and what fun bonding time for Grandpa, Dad, and Li’l Dude. And of course CiGi wants Grandma. D’uh!

Weekend. There was one. Anymore, Saturday and Sunday are just days of the week but with different TV schedules. It was too hot to leave the house so I ducked out only long enough to feed cats and birds.

I gave up trying to make headway on the writing and did some research. I have a clear picture (literally) of every character but the heroine. Aisling gave me trouble with her name so I ended up changing it. Now she won’t show me what she looks like. I went through a bunch of pictures and no one seems to fit. I had hopes that if I found *her,* she would open up and start talking to me about herself. I’ve discovered a few things but not enough to make the opening arc interesting. Grrr.

Anyway, it’s Monday and I spent the morning starting at my monitor again. I’m going to try an old trick from twitter days–the 1K1HR word sprint. See if that will shake something lose.

Here’s hoping for a good week for us all!

Yippie for a fun pool party. We knew it would be a blast. The video footage sounds like fun.

It’s easy to picture the family talking about how grandma would be stealing Cigi from everyone. It’s the right of the grandma .

Well that’s settled. Lessons for paddle boarding will come from DIL 😆.

Nice photo and congratulations to Turbo! He must be very happy to have done so well against adults. Love the cars too.

We had DIL A’s birthday dinner last night at the Thai place nearby. It was very nice. When we left a front had come through and the heat was gone . It was lovely. Today has been beautiful too. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity will be back tomorrow afternoon.

Have a great start to the week.

Silver, I don’t know for sure, but I doubt Middle does have a tictok due to his work. Just a guess on my part. But we did post it on our family loop :-) And yeah, Grampa and Turbo are really bonding, it’s great.

The heat sure can be a limiting factor! At least you have A/C.

I’m sorry the heroine things she’s in Witness Protection and won’t show herself to you. It’s so frustrating when that happens. You know all the tricks to try to break through. Hope the sprinting session works for you! For me, it was usually freewriting on a legal yellow pad and a sharp pencil.

I’m crossing my fingers that you get a week filled with too many words and not even time to type them all!

Viki, it was fun! It’s all going to depend on timing for paddleboarding, so we’ll see. I’m hoping for the weekend after next.

    Turbo is really pleased!

Yay for a nice dinner for A’s birthday! That sure was a fast front that moved through, and the cooler weather a great bonus. Sorry the heat and humidity are coming back. That weather bugs my joints and probably bugs yours.

The start to my week is good, and hope yours is too!

I’m so glad you had an awesome weekend! Wow, Turbo’s really growing. I love reading about your happy family. :hugs:

The weekend here was hot, so not much went on. My tomato plants are finally blooming and making baby tomatoes. I spent too much time in front of the TV, but there are so many good things to watch, I’m like a kid in a candy store. I lead such an interesting life. LOL

B.E., Turbo really is growing fast these days. Thanks — my family is a wild bunch of humans stuff into a family unit, LOL.

Ugh on the heat. But yay for baby tomatoes!! That’s exciting. I’m glad you have the Roku with so many shows for the long hot summer days. And they do help with plotting for your books!

Interesting lives can also be very chaotic :-) I think my life looks boring from the outside, shrug.

Hope your week is going well!
