Weekend Roundup

It was a quiet one for me. I’m good with that.

Friday and Saturday involved a lot of cleaning. I also wrote a blog and had three ready to go. Then it dawned on me that two were very similar. Sigh…I discarded one into my “draft” file where I can repurpose it later. I wrote one more blog, so I had three again and am beginning work on the fourth. I want seven or more written before I launch the blog. I haven’t even started on the interview side of things (I want that to be part of the blog, plus podcasting later).

Will I do all this? I hope so, but also, life is swirling. So they way I look at it now is I’m exercising my writing muscle and enjoying learning new things. If it all comes together — awesome! If not, it’s all good. — I’ll just readjust or pivot and find my happy place in a scaled down version.  I really do need to make a decision on the blog theme and ask someone to take pictures of me. I’m not looking forward to either of those things :-) But I am enjoying working on this, and keep the pace as I want it to be.

Here’s a pic of my granddaughter in the airport heading for her first flight.

From all the pics I saw, she did great on the plane and fell asleep on her dad. It looked like they had a blast. They’re visiting Cigi’s mom’s relatives and I’m really happy that she’s getting to meet her extended family. I just have to say, Middle Son is loving being a dad.

Turbo and his family are having a blast. Here’s oldest son (CPA boy) covered in kids. Boys never really grow up, but they sure do get stronger! Turbo is in on the right of the picture (in CPA boys left arm). They are visiting CPA Boy’s friend from high school and college!

Here’s a pic Maggie’s here just because :-) We were hanging out in the backyard and I used a treat to bribe her for a pic.

This weekend I floated the idea of renting an Motorhome to go see Wizard’s brother in Oregon. He had a minute of being intrigued, then starting thinking of disasters that could befall us. Essentially, the motorhome was going to break down, leaving us stranded and evidently our phones would die and any form of communication would evaporate and probably bears would eat us slowly while we’re alive and screaming…it was astonishing how fast a fun idea became a horror movie, LOL! He might come around or write a horror novel, I’m not sure which yet!

So how was your weekend?

What did we do with toddlers before “wheelie” bags?!?! So glad she’s a good traveller. And Oldest is strong! Turbo looks like he was having fun too. Good luck with the new project. I admit I’m intrigued. Motorhoming isn’t that hard and if you rent, they have roadside assistance. Byt a horror comedy could work too!

My weekend was boring. I did crack the whip on Saturday and Iffy settled down to wrangle the characters. Then a new character walked into a scene, pulled up a chair and took over. That’s okay. I like her. So does my FMC. There are plans afoot. Sunday, I wasn’t as productive on the WIP but I did get some blog posts set up.

Cheers to a productive week for us all!

Cigi was ready to roll 🥰. It’s wonderful that she is a good traveler. You see so many parents having a hard time with kids on planes. Happy to hear she did so well. I bet they are having a great time.

CPA boy looks great covered in kids. True – boys never really grow up. It would take the fun out of it if they did.

Maggie looks like she enjoyed her treat. She posed nicely too. I think she needs an extra treat.

Cleaning is a good thing until we get tired out. I hope you didn’t over do it.

😂Wizard and the doom and gloom of a possible RV trip. The eaten by bears is the cherry on top. Guess you’ll fly.

Our weekend wasn’t much until Saturday afternoon. The clouds opened up and our town and the one just north of us were flooded with over 3 inches of rain in 2 hours. Even the freeway had to close because it was flooded. But we al survived. My sump pump is still running non-stop.

It’s super hot and humid here. When you walk outside the air is super heavy and hard to breathe. I feel so bad for those that have to work outside in weather like this – yuck.

I hope your week has started out well 😊

Silver, isn’t that the truth about wheelie bags! Cigi has had her moments as a young traveler, but overall, she’s really good. I think her calm, organized and structured parents help that adjustment :-) And yeah, oldest is strong. He also keeps getting minor injuries from being an overgrown kid when he’s not working :-) I’m glad you’re intrigued, while I’m over here wresting with Monday for some time, LOL! This is always the problem in life, I think. We have time…until we need it to do something.

I love hearing that you were able to get Izzy motivated and had a good writing day on Sunday. Also…I LOVE the new characters who show up like they belong there. They are usually important. It’s exciting that the characters have plans too. The social media work counts too!

Here’s to productivity being king this week!

Viki, they got lucky that Cigi was in a good mood that day. She really likes people so all the activity probably helped. And boys are always boys at heart, LOL. Maggie’s very happy lately as I’m giving her some bones and bully sticks that she seems to do okay with. I make her keep them outside and she’s cooperating so far. Yeah…if/when we go, we’ll probably fly. It’s not easy to get Wizard to try new things :-) Plus getting in and out of RVs is hard for him.

Wowzer that’s quite a storm to dump so much rain! Closing the freeway is dramatic, but it probably saved some people’s lives. People tend to think they can drive in anything and usually find out the hard way that Mother Nature usually wins. Yay for your sump pump working overtime without complaint.

That is miserable humid heat. I hate it and hope it breaks into something more tolerable soon. I worry about the elderly who don’t have A/C too.

Hope your week is off to a good start despite the hot, humid weather.
