Wednesday Reading

I’m still reading “House of Fire and Magic (Myths & Outlaws Book 1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It’s pretty good, although I don’t find it a compelling page-turner. While the story is fun, it feels a little old school to me. I do like the political intrigue in the paranormal world, and some of the various magical creatures, and I’m happy to keep reading it for a while in the evenings.

I have not gone back to the audiobook that made me mad last week. I mean I’ve turned it on, then turned it off. Guess I’m still mad, LOL! I think I need to find another audiobook, listen to that then maybe come back to the one I’m mad at.

And totally unrelated: I’ve had this book plot idea hanging around now for a few weeks. I’ve told it I’m busy, I’m not writing commercial fiction now and it’s just sitting there in my brain swirling around. Fortunately, I don’t have any characters showing up and bugging me! As long as the actual characters don’t materialize, I can ignore the idea. It’s just a distraction from doing work on the blog stuff!

Are you reading anything interesting?

Oh…you know it’s only a matter of time until the characters show up and start jabbering. Just sayin’…

Glad you’re mostly enjoying Sherrilyn’s book, since I recommended it. I enjoyed the old skool parts but that’s me.

I finished Nalini Singh’s new Psy-Changeling release, ATONEMENT SKY. I enjoy it a lot. Falcon shifter and a “justice-psy” who is on the verge of a final mental flame-out. I’m currently listenting to Dannika Dark’s new release in her Black Arrowhead Pack series. It’s okay but not blowing up my skirts. Still, I like the series.

    Happy reading, all!

Silver, I don’t think I’m ready to deal with characters and their antics, LOL! Poor Wizard looked slightly panicked when I mentioned I had a book idea.

You are exactly where i got the recommendation. I should have mentioned that. It’s a good book and the variety of characters are interesting and fun to learn about.

I feel like Nalini’s books are a pretty good bet! I laughed “not at the blowing up my skirts” comment. I haven’t seen that phrase in a long time, and it presents an instant visual for me!

Hope your hump day is going well!

I’m surprised no one is in your head trying to pull you in some direction you don’t have time for. I guess they will come out and get you when they’re good and ready.

I’m nowhere with reading at the moment. I have several I’d love to just sit down with but you know how it goes. Open the book and hubs “needs” something.

I hope you have a great day!

Viki, I’m actually grateful no characters have shown up in my head yet, the story is easier to ignore that way. I’m not ready to commit to a book, I have too many other things going on :-)

Yes, I know how that is, and it’s just part of life sometimes. You’ll read when the right time comes along.

In the meantime, I hope you’re having a good day!
