Wednesday Reading

I’ve been really enjoying the book, MAGIC HOUR by Kristen Hannah. I see it categized as mystery or contemporary women’s fiction. There’s definitely a mystery, but with a woman’s fiction feel to it. It’s about a child who appeared out of a forest, and appears to be a “wild child,” as in she lived in the forest. So far  in the book, it’s thought she lived with wolves. The child is mute and “feral” although I don’t love that word. This child is the mystery, and two sisters, the town Sheriff and a big city psychiatrist, are trying to solve who the child is and what happened to her. There’s also a hot town doctor involved. Normally I’d be annoyed by the hot town doctor in this type of story, but his past is mysterious and I think he adds to the story.

Otherwise, I have a book on Audible but haven’t listened to it yet. It’s a busy week in a busy month. It’s weird as August is usually a quiet month, but the upside is I haven’t had time to be bored :-)

What are you reading?

Happy Wednesday!

I’m still doing my Thea Harrison Elder Races marathon. I’m on book 9, SHADOW’S END. There’re several novellas after this one and then 2 spin-off series I probably won’t pursue at this point. Shelley Laurenston’s TO KILL A BADGER in her Honey Badger series (full of snark and fun) dropped yesterday. I also have a Jayne Krentz audio book on “loan” from Audible. I have until 9/9 to listen to it. It’s part of her broader Arcane Society world. I think I may have read it before but haven’t checked Goodreads to see.

    Happy reading, all!

I’m glad you’re enjoying MAGIC HOUR. It sounds interesting.

With buying this house I’m really tied up. Everything is electronic and I hate it. When we bought this house it was simple and the realtor walked us through everything. Now I’m supposed to understand it all on my own and sign things. I’m not feeling good right now. C will have to stop by and do it with me.

I hope you have a great afternoon.

Silver, that’s a lot of books so I can see why you might take a break before considering the spin off series.

    I like Shelly L’s badger series :-)

I’m betting you probably read or listened to the Krentz book, but Goodreads will be the final judge!

And here I am taking my time reading my book, LOL!

Viki, huge sympathy! Most of our transaction was electronic too. It’s a pain. Do you not have a relator this time? They usually help even if it’s electronic. But if you’re doing it yourself, yeah, it’s a headache. Hopefully C will be able to help.

I really hope you feel better soon. House buying is stressful, hang in there!
