Wednesday Worthy

Yesterday was Wizard’s birthday, and he spent part of it at the doctor’s with a sinus infection. Bummer. But we had a nice day and went to dinner anyway.

I suspect I’ll be at the doctor’s myself today or tomorrow with the same thing.  This appears to be the cold that keeps on giving :-)  But I got my book off to the editor (YAY!!), so I can deal with being sick now.

So onto Wednesday Worthy, here is today’s candidate:

What do you think? Is he worthy?

Weekend Roundup

It’s been a good–if somewhat painful–weekend :-) Okay so I have Savaged Vows fully drafted at just over 100k words, although I’m frantically trying to fix one scene, and I need this book to go to the editor tomorrow (Tuesday). Ironically, the scene I’m struggling with is a wedding scene. And I’m supposed to be a romance writer…LOL!

And OMG I love this book. I’m not going to lie, it needs a lot of revisions and I’m terrified to send it to my editor, but I am passionate about Liza, Justice and their story. Writing the last quarter of the book was one of the hardest things I’ve done–some might consider it a risky storyline. I wrote it anyway :-)

Right now I’m taking a full minute to celebrate getting this far, even though I know there will be huge revisions on this book. Sometimes we need to stop and look at what we actually achieved. Despite a lot of setbacks, including a series of very serious family health crises in a month’s time, then Wizard and I both getting colds, in the last two weeks I developed some shoulder/arm pain,  all while juggling multiple other projects and deadlines–I did it! A 100,000 plus work manuscript for Savaged Vows!

My shoulder and arm thing will be okay. I’m doing stretches to avoid any kind of frozen shoulder scenario, but it really is from pure overuse. A few days rest, with ice, heat and stretches and it’ll be fine.

So that’s my weekend news.  How was your weekend?

Happy Friday

Guess who got Wizard’s cold? Yep I’m sick and taking meds that make it hard for me to concentrate. I trying to push through the fuzziness to revise and clean up Savaged Vows for my editor. However, I’m taking a quick break to hop over here and tell you one fun thing about this book:

My hero and heroine have a weird obsession with chickens :-) They’re amusing me with it.

My weekend is going to be full of cold meds and writing. What are your plans? Whatever it is, have a Happy Friday and a Great Weekend!

Weekend Roundup

Poor Wizard is really sick with a cold :-( I feel bad for him. He’s not whining but I can see he’s miserable. But the bright spot in our weekend was going to middle son’s for his girlfriend’s birthday. We asked, and they said it was fine to bring cold germs with us. And guess who was so excited to see us, he put on a bow tie?

This is “baby Jett” who is now nine months old. He’s a big boy! And so danged funny. He has these doggie expressions that are priceless. I had a great time playing with him. I also loved hanging out with my son and his girlfriend, who is more than much more than a girlfriend to us.

I’m racing toward the end of my book. As I write this on Sunday night, I’m going to take the rest of night off so I can tackle this fresh in the morning. I have a bit over a week to get to get this done and somewhat cleaned for my editor. It’s a big task, which are the best kind of challenge as long as I don’t Wizard’s cold! Usually I’m super lucky and only get the 27″mild” version of a cold so fingers crossed my luck holds!

And in a totally random aside,  I was talking to Wizard about fostering dogs, and he said he’d be totally willing to foster unicorns. Um…did I overdose him on cold meds or is he just messing with me?

So that was my weekend, how was yours?

Happy Friday!

Beware, Wizard might have a cold! Duck and cover people! Wizard + Cold = Nuclear Whining!

Which reminds me, the day that Wizard had surgery, CPA Boy was with me at the hospital.  So once Wizard was all prepped, his neurosurgeon came in and explain how “severe” Wizard’s ruptured disk was and what they needed to do. Trust me, he spared no details. Once they whisked Wizard off to the laboratory…uh operating room…CPA Boy and I were in the waiting room when he turns to me and says, “Mom we really dodged a bullet here.”

“How?” I asked.

“Because this is just a little major surgery. Dad could have a MAN COLD.”

I cracked up! And he was soooo right. (Yeah, I knew he was setting me up for a joke, but CPA Boy amuses me.)

But now this MAN COLD plague might have arrived. Sigh. People all around us are sick, so it’s not that much of a surprise. I’m not feeling that great either, but hoping it’s just sinuses.

Otherwise, I’m in the trenches with this book and the April 5th deadline bearing down. And oddly enough, life doesn’t stop just because I have a deadline, so there are family birthdays and assorted events :-)

Oh yeah, I saw my RA doc yesterday, and he gave me his diagnoses of, “You’re a workaholic.” I asked for a prescription to work faster and more efficiently, but he wasn’t helpful at all. He’s very helpful with my RA though.

This weekend we’re planning to go to middle sons if Wizard is well enough. If not, I’m going to be fulfilling my doctor’s “workaholic” diagnosis.

What are your weekend plans?
