Happy New Year!!

I hope everyone had a safe an enjoyable New Years Eve! And I wish for all of us a wonderful New Year!

That said, even though I’m writing this blog on New Years Eve afternoon, I can safely predict that I’m annoyed by the fireworks that scare my dog. That’s my one complained. Some of them are also very unsafe.

So this weekend was quiet, just the way I liked it :-) Saturday all I did was read and make sourdough bread. Sunday was low key too, and for dinner we made trip tip, with fresh sourdough bread and a good wine. And in the best news, my daughter-in-law is recovering from her illness. I was finally able to go over on Sunday, and she looked and sounded much better. I also read again on Sunday because I’m reading a super interesting to me book “Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir. There’s a lot of science and physics that I don’t fully grasp and I’m looking up a lot of words or concepts, but I’m enjoying the book so much I don’t mind. It’s fun. I suspect I’m looking to books to challenge me a bit more since I’m not writing and getting the mental challenge from that. It makes sense to me, anyway.

Now I’m looking for 2024! How about you?

    Happy New Year!

It was a quiet weekend here, other than the fireworks which kinda freaked out the Boyz, but not too bad. I’m doing roast beef in the crockpot for sandwiches today. Other than that, vegging out on my last day off before heading back to another fun-filled week of work. I might make 5-layer bar cookies today. I might walk in the woods. I lead an unexciting life. Here’s to a better 2024 for us all. :hugs:

    Happy New Year!

It was nice a quiet here too last night. I didn’t even hear fireworks or gun shots. Very unusual but a blessing for all animals.

That’s great that DIL is doing better and you finally got to go see her.

Sure hope you and Wizard have a wonderful day today!

I’m glad you’re enjoying Hail Mary. I’ll have to check it out. I am enjoying Fourth Wing when I get a chance to read.

My roast goes in at 2 and should be done by 4. I’m just roasting some veggies too, made deviled eggs and will make a spicy mac N cheese for C since she’s a vegetarian.

Here’s to every one having a blessed and healthy 2024!

    B.E. Happy New Year!!

Sorry about the fireworks scaring the kitties :-( Maggie was so scared too. I woke up startled and couldn’t find her. For the first time even she hid under my bed curled up in a tight ball. I felt so bad for her.

5 layer cookie bar sounds ambitious and delicious :-) I hope you get enough rest in to face the week. Its seems like your day job is non-stop.

I’ll toast to your toast of a better year for all!

Viki, that’s great that you didn’t have fireworks! It was bad here for a while. But it did end, so that’s good. On the 4th they can go on for hours.

    Hope you like Fourth Wing!

Dinner sounds wonderful. And you’re very nice to make vegetarian daughter in law spicy mac and cheese. I’d do it too, but not everyone would. I hope you and your family have a lovely dinner tonight and a wonderful 2024!
