So we are waiting for the bigger second storm to hit as I’m writing this Sunday evening. It’s taking longer than forecast to get to us, which usually isn’t a great sign (slower moving means more rain). The wind is blowing now, so it’s coming. On the other hand, the media has hyped this up so much, it’s exhausting and making me a little skeptical. There are signs on the freeways telling us not to travel until Thursday night. I feel like I’m not in Southern CA anymore, LOL. And it could all turn out to just be some rain and wind. We’ll see.
And on the “Stay off the roads until Thursday night” signs?? Do they know how long I’ve waited for my ENT appt Tuesday afternoon???? Okay, seriously, if I can’t go, I’ll reschedule. But it’ll probably be fine and I’ll be able to make the 20 mile drive. I had to laugh when I mentioned this to Wizard, he said, “Don’t worry I’ll drive you.” I just shook my head. I mean if for some reason I can’t drive there, why would he be able to????? Men.
So my weekend was good. Saturday we went to see Turbo and had a nice time. I enjoyed playing with him, and Wizard got a chance to talk to Oldest for a while. He also played with Turbo, but it was nice for him to have some time with our oldest too.
Sunday we wanted to go to Middle’s house, but we headed warnings about the storm and stayed home. Then the storm was delayed. That’s a little annoying, but we both ran some other errands and got other things done, so it worked out. And I made some cookies. We’ll go to Middle’s next weekend.
One of my errands was to my fun store, Trader Joe’s But I had a bit of sad moment when I saw my beloved dark chocolate chips went up a $1.00!!! But it’s still the best price I’ve found and I bought three bags. One can never have too many bags of dark and dairy free chocolate chips!!
Today it’s supposed to rain, so we’ll be home. I’m going to do some batch cooking and maybe putting my books in the bookcases. I tried so hard in our last house to give away most of my physical books, and not buy more for this very reason. And yet I’m suddenly collecting them again and we’re talking about getting more bookcases in other rooms. I just can’t help it, I love books!
How was your weekend?

I have had you all in my prayers with all that rain. The mudslides I see on TV really make me worry.
The prayers are going to continue going up that the rain subsides and you are able to get to the ENT tomorrow. Men are so funny – if you can’t drive, I will😄.
It’s good that you got to see Turbo. Play time with him must be great. It’s nice that you shared him with Wizard too 😉.
Staying home Sunday and making cookies sounds like a win.
I love books too!
My weekend didn’t go as planned. I cleaned and threw out a bunch of junk. Was going to do more yesterday BUT – hubs got Chris up at 12am TN time and made him drive home. They were here 7 hours later.
I hope all went well with the batch cooking and book shelving. Fingers crossed for tomorrow and the ENT.

The news coverage I’ve seen looks horrible but it seems to be centered north of LA so holding hope that y’all get rain but not the monsoon deluge. Yay for family time! And if Wiz had a big ol’ 4W-drive truck like LG, I’d let him drive you tomorrow. LOL
Quiet here. Siren test got canceled due to rain/drizzle here. We got like a quarter to a half inch. Nothing like what LA is getting! Additionally, Stomry had Flu-A and was still sick and Friday night I was hit with either a stomach virus (likely since LG had a touch of it Saturday night/Sunday) or food poisoning–my thought at the time. Yeah, no details. It was ugly. Anyway, lots more bed rest this weekend. I did make it to Wallyworld this morning all by myself but had to go back to bed after putting the groceries up. LOL
Keep us posted on your weather! Have a great week and 🤞🏼 for your ENT appt.

Viki, thank you for your prayers! Right where we are has been okay so far. A strong stream it racing behind us from the Cleveland National Forest, but the water is going where it should and that’s good. Most of the problems have been LA and north of their so far.
I’m so sorry your hubs got so anxious and had to go home in the middle of the night. That made it hard on everyone. I hope hubs is better now that he’s home.
Batch cooking is done, haven’t touched books yet I’m torn between doing it now or waiting until we paint (I don’t know when we’ll paint yet).
Hope your day is going as well as possible.

Silver, yeah so far it’s LA and above from what I’ve seen. I can’t get much news more locally. That’s always when a problem — LA captures all the attention
Middle has a huge 4 wheel, but he lives 60 miles from me, so there’s no way I’m asking him to take off work and cart me around when it’s not urgent. And it’s really not urgent, this is just a whiny problem not a serious one. And we do have a SUV, I can do it as long as there’s not a slide or something like that.
Oh no, I’m so sorry! The last thing you needed was a stomach virus (or food poisoning). I don’t need details to get the idea of how awful it was! Sure hope all of you feel better. And Kudos on dragging yourself to Walmart!
Here’s to a much better week (than your weekend) for you!
