We had a great weekend. Saturday was pretty normal stuff. But while running errands, I stopped by youngest to see the desk he built for his home office. It’s gorgeous! It’s a simple farmhouse design, and perfect for him. I really am impressed with the level of attention to detail he put in this desk. He’s really developing some amazing woodworking skills.
After that, I made dark chocolate brownies for Superbowl. Then I decided they are too dark chocolate for most people, so I froze those, and bought Ghirardelli’s boxed brownies, and made those to take to Middle’s. Yes, I realized that’s a bit over the top, but I do stuff like that all the time, LOL. They all seemed to like them. I passed because they had gluten, and my stomach has been touchy for a few days. I had treats at home so it doesn’t bother me to do that.
Sunday we went to Middles to watch the Superbowl. We had a delicious dinner of tri trip and tons of great conversation while watching the game. It got tense in overtime, and that’s when we left…but Wizard listened to the game on the radio. His team lost. But big congrats to all the Kansas City Chiefs! Truly, we had a lovely time with out son, daughter-in-law, their two dogs, and our dog
How was your weekend?

Sorry I missed Friday. Friday and Saturday were Very Bad Days. Felt better on Sunday and by timing things out, I managed to prepare our traditional Super Bowl food–brisket, homemade BBQ sauce, deviled eggs, and baked beans. (I cheated on the beans and used a can of Bush’s Homestyle. LOL) Food was good. I couldn’t eat much but I ate and I kept it down!
We’re Chiefs fans so Yay. It was a whale of a game! I was disappointed in the commercials, though I did like the Stare Farm, BMW (with Christopher Walken), and the KIA with the ice skater. We laughed at a few of the rest but mostly shook our heads. We definitely are NOT the targe audience.
Budweiser did do a Clydesdale commercial this year. They skipped last year. It was nostalgic but it was cut short and I didn’t get to see the whole thing until I went on line. I hope they start running it more. I’ve missed the Clydesdales.
Thats about the sume total of my weekend. I’m up for a bit and on the desktop. I suspect there will be a nap after lunch. Still recovering from those two Very Bad Days. It happens. Have a great week, all!

I’m glad you had such a wonderful weekend. Spending time with the family makes it great.
That is so cool how BLB has become a great woodcrafter. I’d bet the desk is really nice. The old arts are coming back.
C has also been working with wood. He’s made many things this past year. It’s funny, my brother was a carpenter for years and my grandfather on my dad’s side also worked with wood. I have a desk, a chest commode with water basin and a toy box he made my brother. When our family makes these treasures we are blessed.
Now, there is no such thing as too dark chocolate🤣❤️. But I understand your concern for others and I would have done the same as you and made something more pleasing to the masses.
Glad you got to sort of (sorry Wizard) enjoy the Super Bowl. I only watched the Anthem. It was done well.
I just watched the Clydesdale commercial and loved it. I wonder if companies have finally learned to quit preaching the woke agenda and just stick to selling their products? Fingers crossed.
Spunk has been sick all weekend. I hope he comes around soon or I will have to take him to the vet. I know what happens here has an impact on him ☹️.
I hope you have a great day!

Silver, dang, I’m so sorry you’ve been so sick. It’s been rough for you lately, but eventually, you’re full health will return.
Yay for good food for Superbowl, and that you were able to pace out the prep! Shortcuts are always fine — we all need them sometimes. I sure hope you’re able to eat more soon.
I love that your team played a good game and won! It’s a huge achievement for the Chiefs to win back-to-back, and awesome for their fans. I’ll admit, I really didn’t watch much, even the commercials. I was playing with the dogs or chatting Plus, like you, I’m not the target audience for the commercials, LOL. I did catch some of the halftime show and enjoyed it.
I love the Clydesdales too! Can’t go wrong with horses or dogs for me
I’m glad you’re able to get up and around a bit after your illness, but definitely rest as your body tells you too!

Viki, I’m glad focus is shifting to skilled work as well! Youngest has a really intense (at times) job, and woodworking is a great way to relieve stress and enjoying his creative side. I’m very happy C is able to do that too! It’s also so cool that he inherited those skills!
LOL on the dark chocolate! I agree, but it’s definitely not for everyone.
Wizard had fun despite his team losing
Glad you were able to enjoy the Clydesdales! I always enjoy seeing them.
Oh no, poor Spunk! I sure hope he recovers fully and doesn’t have to go to the vet. I hate it when our beloved animals are sick, especially since they can’t tell us what specifically is wrong. Keep us updated!
Other than Spunk being sick, I hope your week is off to a good start.
