TGIF! I’m sorry for missing Wednesday. I don’t have an excuse aside from just running out of energy to post on Tuesday And since I’m not writing, I don’t have a focus for my blog, so I run out of things to say. Lastly, this blog has probably run it’s coarse, but I just haven’t been ready to let go. So I’m hanging in here for now. Okay lets move onto posting five random things about our week:
- We had more rain, and now comes the talk about a Super Bloom. And it’s truly breathtaking when we get those. In fact, the hills surrounding our house are gorgeous now and will become even more stunning soon. But having lived through the super bloom a few years back when people acting with incredible stupidity and created serious havoc, injuries and the death of a motorcycle officer, I actually flinch hearing it, LOL. The good news is the city closed the trail. Which will protect the land and keep the snakes from biting those who forgot their caution and common sense.
- This week is weird. Too many of my friends are sick, mourning or worried about one of their loved ones. Saturday I’m plan to go to one memorial service.
- I got blood work done Wednesday and I was in and out so fast, I was pleasantly shocked! Wouldn’t be nice if all our medical stuff was that easy!
- I gave Maggie a hoof filled with peanut butter and she’s too funny. I only let her have it for an hour or two, then take it back. When I do this, I require her to move away then I pick it up. It’s just conditioning, so if a kid in our family grabs something from her, she’ll move back from the item rather than bite or growl (I hope!). Then she looks at me with super sad eyes, but I don’t fall for her puppy eyes Anyhow, the last few times I gave her the bone, she has tried to “hide” it — right in the middle of the floor of the small hallway to our bedroom. My dog will never be a criminal mastermind, LOL.
- I spent yesterday with Biker Witch and had a blast. First we had coffee, then went shopping in Home Goods. It was nice to see her. That said, I am so not gifted at home decoration. But I get points for trying, right?
That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! I’m pretty sure your week is more interesting than mine! Have a great weekend everyone!

I miss lots of days… :hugs: When I read about your super-bloom, all I could think of was the traffic you always have to endure. I’m sorry so many of your friends are ill or mourning right now. I’m worried about our one mutual friend and wondering how she’s doing. Yay for easy bloodwork. LOL about Maggie. No criminal mastermind there. Yay for time with Biker Witch!
1) Work work work.
2) I miss my friends.
3) Even though it’s not quite Spring, it’s very springy here. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, love is in the air. :happy sigh:
4) The other day I saw a bald eagle flapping along with a big stick in its mouth. He’s either building a nest or was playing fetch. ;o)
5) The kittens are cats now. A year old and big boys. They’re still pretty playful, but they’re also settling down a bit. Except Sawyer is a bit crazypants sometimes.

1. After the rains and the warmer temperatures it must be stunning around you with everything coming into bloom. The super bloom is beautiful and I’m glad that the trail has been closed so that the hysteria that occurred a couple years ago does not happen again.
2. I’m sorry you have so many in your life that are dealing with illness and death right now. It’s just terrible how many are ill or worse. I remember my mom going to memorials every other week after she hit her 60’s. Age sucks.
3. If all medical work was done fast and efficiently I don’t know what we’d do. We’d all be walking around in a zombie like state of shock.
4. Maggie is just so sweet. It’s easy to picture her sad eyes. Good thing mom stands firm. That’s so cute her hiding her hoof in the hall like that. Our fur babies are darling.
5. Great day with Biker Witch and shopping! I stink at decorating too so don’t feel bad.
1a. This weekend C is going to make sure I have everything for the taxes and then he will get it to the guy to prepare our taxes. I can’t wait. It scary waiting.
2a. Hubs had a cd come due on Monday so we went to his bank. It took over an hour to re-write the cd with new terms. It drove me nuts. When I write a cd at MY bank it takes less than 10 mins.
3a. C was all worried about NYCB going under and hubs has a huge amount of money there. So I cleared out the checking account and put it in my money market until I find a new bank for hubs. The two CD’s he has at NYCB will be moved when they come due. I also have to contact SSA and have his check direct deposited in his other banks checking account. There is so much to do to try and keep money safe.
4a. It’s so strange here. It’s been rather mild but on Sunday we’re supposed to get lake effect snow – up to 6 inches. Never a dull moment.
5a. A stone was thrown up at my windshield by a truck last week and a hole had to be repaired. Safelight came out yesterday and fixed it in 10 minutes. You can still tell where the hole was but it’s no longer an open flaw.
I sure hope you have a great weekend!

B.E., you have an excellent excuse for missing days! I was hoping you’d heard from our friend. Let’s hope she’s offline and focusing on getting well. Thanks on my friends, I appreciate it. Life happens to all of us, both the good and the bad.
1) I hope work isn’t too overwhelming!
2) All your friends miss you too (like me!) But I understand there’s only so many hours in the day (and energy!).
3) Yay for Spring! I always appreciate it more when we get more rainy days too.
4) LOLOL! I’ve never pictured a bald eagle playing fetch before! It’s my go-to image for a smile today.
5) A year old!! That flew by! Hopefully they are a bit less work now that they’re mostly settling down. Even if Sawyer still likes to get a bit crazy (I’m picture the cat version of dog zoomies).
I’m so glad you stopped by!! Like I said early, I miss you but 100% understand work and two cats plus all the life stuff keeps you busy. Have a great weekend!

Viki, thanks! Wizard went through this around the Covid time. I think we all do once we hit a certain age. You’re right, if we weren’t fighting for some medical thing, what would we do with all those extra hours? Maggie is good at using her puppy eyes and/or happy dance to get her way. I *try* to stand firm but the struggle is real sometimes.
1) I agree, taxes test my nerves too. I’m lucky because Wizard does most of it. But I do feel for you. Hope you can get it done and get it off your mind.
2) I’m so with you on things like that taking so long. Especially when you know other banks can do it faster without issues. It makes me feel like I’d better triple-check everything before I sign and finalize it.
3) I’m glad C is trying to help — some kids totally ignore parents finances and trying to be proactive. You are already taking steps to get it all moved as you can. But dealing with SSA is a whole other ball game. The SSA office can make the easiest question or transaction complicated. That sound, what you’re trying to do should be easy — fingers crossed.
4) Sheesh, that’s a wild change! Hope it’s not too much snow.
5) I hate those rocks thrown up by other trucks, and costing us $$$ and time! But it’s great that you got it fixed so quickly so the damage doesn’t spread.
Hope you get some time to have fun and/or relax this weekend! Stay warm and safe!
