Friday Five

TGIF!! Let’s get right to sharing five random things. Here’s mine!

  1. My happy news for the week is hearing from Silver. She’s recovering now and improving. I think it’ll be a while yet before she shows up online regularly. If anyone hasn’t seen her story, you can check her blog here.
  2. We hired the painters for the inside of the house. They begin Monday. The house will be all one color (Agreeable Gray) with white trim and doors. Are we ready? Heck no. We’ve had multiple complications making getting ready a Herculean task. On the other hand, this will do it for the big tasks inside the house that require so much work, and be worth it (I hope!) when it’s done. Yesterday afternoon and last night I did get a chunk of packing done so at least we have a good start.
  3. One of the complications is that we went for my MRI on Wednesday. The machine was broken, and they had to order parts. To their credit, they were nice and really got me in again this morning. Hopefully I will get this MRI done this time. It took me 8 long and frustrating months to get this far.
  4. Wizard is partially sidelined due to no fault of his own (nor does he have a virus — it’s a long story I don’t want to get into). He’s so frustrated that he can’t do a lot right when we need to get so much done. But today may be better for him.
  5. We plan to go to dinner tonight with Middle son to celebrate his wife’s birthday. They live an hour or more away, but it’s worth it to celebrate our daughter in law’s birthday as long as Wizard is up to it. Saturday we are going to see Turbo for his birthday (also an hour or more away from us). Sunday we’ll be packing and we’ll get all we can done.

That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    1. It is so good to hear from Silver. I’m keeping her in my prayers.
    2. Wow! The painters start on Monday. I’m sure everything will packed and out of the way. I like “agreeable gray.”
    3. I had you in my prayers all morning that all went well and the MRI went on without a hitch.
    4. Whatever is a problem for Wizard, I hope it goes away soon.
    5. Have an incredible dinner celebrating DIL’s birthday.

1a. I went to pay my Kohls bill yesterday and of course bought a new shirt.
2a. Have a tiny corned beef to cook for Sunday. Since it’s just the two of us I figured I’d be good. But now I’m getting that funny feeling that C will be stopping by😉.
3a. I finally picked up Legacy of Temptation. I haven’t gotten very far because I fall asleep before I even open the book.
4a. I just bought a SHARK portable wet/dry vac. I sure hope it helps with cleaning up after Spunk gets sick. The other day he was sick 7 times and two were on the white carpet.
5a. I just saw that Hollywood Feed is carrying goat milk for dogs. I went to get the pumpkin flavor for C’s dogs but it was slod out. It’s $11/pt but if it helps with the gutt issues , it’s worth it.

I hope you get to see Turbo this weekend!

Have a great weekend and I am keeping Wizard in my prayers.

Viki, thank you for all the good thoughts. I got the MRI this morning and Wizard is much better. The issue has been resolved thanks to Wizard’s doctor and his staff. The week has been a clown show, but today things finally started going right :-) And yep, painters will be here early Monday. That will be another long week!

    1) Good! You deserve a new shirt!
    2) Oh man, I know that feeling. I hope if he does show up, you can work it out. We do learn some tricks over the years :-)
    3) I haven’t gotten back to that book. Hope you enjoy it more! I really think it’s a good book and it’s just me right now.
    4) Wow! 7 times in one day is a lot. Do cats throw up that much? I hope the Shark helps! White carpet is hard to keep clean with animals (and kids!).
    5) Aww, that is so nice of you to try to find things to help C’s dogs. Digestive issues are so hard to manage, but trying products like goat milk (if its safe) could help.

Thanks again on Wizard. I feel much better about his situation today, and think it’s resolved (or at least resolving).

Hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the corned beef!
