Just when I think the fireworks are over, some moron set one off last night and terrified my dog. We were all in bed, Maggie was sound asleep in the the front room, and after that mortar blast, she was afraid to go back to that bed.

Add in the heat that’s keep Wizard in the house…all day…I’m over it.

But at least there hasn’t been any bad news or new problems this week, so that’s a win!

How your Wednesday going?

Poor Maggie! I hope she’ll get over the fear of that bed. :( And you know, if they’d just do it one day, we’d survive. But for two weeks around the 4th and then another week around New Year’s Eve…grrrrr. If there weren’t so many security cameras around, I swear I’d sneak up on their houses and let loose with a screaming siren under their bedroom windows at 3 in the morning. With my luck, I’d get caught and while the cops might be on my side still…

Nothing bad here. Coffee is plentiful, edits are going, temps not bad but heat dome is headed back our way. Still, all in all, a good week. :)

Poor Maggie☹️. I am in total agreement about the bloody fireworks. I can understand it just before and just after the 4th but the continuing blasts need to stop. They legalized them here in OH for the dumbest days. The day before, on, and after New Years and this mess – the weekend before the 4th, the day before, on, and after the 4th, and the weekend after the 4th. They should have just said the week before and after and be done with it. Oh no, government has to make a mess of everything they touch.

Your heat is terrible. Is Wizard going crazy and thus driving you crazy being stuck in the house? I feel for you.

It’s been hot and humid here.

I thought we had hubs understanding the MRI but alas – NO. He understands one day and then re-writes it in his head the next. I’m also having the joy of trying to get it approved. Can’t schedule until it’s approved.

I also need to clear this up. The first MRI w/o any sedation was ordered by the geriatric neurologist PA and he couldn’t do it. I took him to his primary doc Monday and he ordered the MRI with anesthesia. What gets me is the PA should have known better. If she’s Dealing with dementia patients she should have known they have issues besides the fact that hubs has never been able to do the MRI.

No bad news is a win! Have a great afternoon.

Silver, I think Maggie is over it now that we went a night without fireworks drama. But I’m with you on the weeks of this crap.

I’d back you in court over the screaming siren accidently going off while you were chasing your cat under the homeowner’s window :-) I’m sure the judge would understand how something like that could happen….

Yay for coffee and edits. Here’s hoping the heat dome chills a bit before it gets to you.

Viki so true about the government!! And most of the time, they are honestly trying to solve one problem and somehow manage to create six more. Shaking my head!

Hope some cooler weather comes your way soon!

It has to be so frustrating for you, and confusing for hubs with trying to get him to understand and retain the MRI info. Unfortunately, in our situation, short term memory is often deleted or “rewritten” as you said. But we don’t live day to day with the person, so you know way more about those challenges than we do.

I see on the geriatric neurologist PA and hubs primary doc. But I also strongly agree that the PA should have known. But maybe it’s not standard protocol — I don’t know. I’m just sorry this is causing so much more work and stress for you and your family. I with there was more support built into the system for families dealing with this.

I agree, I’ll take no bad news for sure! The rest is minor irritations.

Hope you have a good evening!

I am totally spaced out on what day of the week it is. I forgot yesterday was Wednesday. (I also forgot Monday was Monday… derp. I should just stop here everyday so I don’t miss out.) Anyway…

Poor Maggie. :hugs: And poor you for having your sleep interrupted by the fireworks and Maggie. :double hugs: I hope your days are going better now. They shoot off so many fireworks here for so many days in a row, I try to be used to it, but the cats are spazzing out over it all and they’re so jumpy right now. Gah.

Other than that, everything’s fine here. Plodding along and pretty much totally back to the swing of not working.
