I just finished listening to a mystery, THE LOCKED DOOR by Freida McFadden. I liked it. For the record, I figured out the killer before the story revealed it! That’s a win for me, and also, I like the way the author hid the killer in plain sight. The narrator was good, but she tended to use a whisper-like voice that I, at times, had trouble hearing. But I have trouble hearing certain pitches, so that’s totally on me.
Next up, is an autobiography THE HOUSE OF MY MOTHER by Shari Franke.
I’m at the very end of the biography by Michael Dell, PLAY NICE BUT WIN. The first third and last third have been sluggish, while the middle third kept my interest. I’m glad I read it, and I feel like I learned some things. It’s just been a slow read for me. And I keep falling asleep, that’s likely another me problem and not a book problem
What are you all reading?

I’m reading “Faery Swap” by Susan Kay Quinn. It’s a middle grade fantasy with math-based magic. How could I resist?

Right now, I’m reading my own book as I edit. I did just finish ‘Child Star: An Autobiography’ by Shirley Temple Black. It was a slow read, but interesting. I really need to figure out another book to read when I take a break from reading my own words. Maybe I’ll pull out an old SF I haven’t read yet and dive on into that.

Like B.E., I’m “reading” my own stuff. (Christmas Moon, Blue Moon, and Moon Shot.) I’ve gone retro old skool by listening to Andre Norton’s Witch World series. Witch World, Web of the Witch World and next is Year of the Unicorm. After that, no clue. There’s some new stuff dropping on audio but I don’t remember what or when off the top of my head. We’ll see when the time comes! LOL
Happy reading, y’all.

I just started Larissa Ione’s Legacy of Chaos.
I fall asleep all the time reading too but that’s because I only get to read when I go to bed and I am exhausted. I’m guessing that you’re still working with the meds and are tired most of the time too.
I hope you are having a good day.

Marianne, I love the math based magic! If magic exists, then it stands to reason it would be based on math Sounds like a fun book! (More fun than the Dell book, LOL).

B.E., it’s hard to shift into reading mode when you’re editing! I tend to be too critical to suspend disbelief when I’m in editing mode. But you’ll be done soon enough and then you can enjoy reading!

Silver, that’s a lot of reading/editing (proofreading maybe?) with three books! Is this for a boxed set? I think I remember you were considering doing that.
But witches are always a good choice

Viki, I saw that Legacy of Chaos was out before Christmas. I think I snagged a sample to remind myself to buy it once I’m done with my current reading. I do that so I don’t lose track of the books in my kindle library as I tend to do.
I feel better since we lowered my thyroid hormone. But I wear myself out doing stuff from the time I take Maggie out at 6:30 on. Or maybe its just aging and eye strain. If I’m super interested in the book, it happens less often
I bet you’re tired a lot and you have good reason. Hope your weight lifting injury is feeling better!

Long story, Jen. Way back when, I had all the individual Moonstruck (original series) in KU. I wanted to go wide so I put two books together with new material and deleted scenes so they were “new” books. I took them wide. After the first 3 sets of 2, I got distracted…SQUIRREL!…and I finally put my foot down and told Iffy we’re finishing the last “set” which is a novella and 2 books. It’s a fun way to add transitions between the books to fill in some blanks, plus the compendium books are long enough to make it worthwhile to put into print. Anyway, that’s what I’m doing. LOL
