Weekend Roundup

Hola!! We have a new week in front of us — but we can’t get on with it until we review our weekend. Here’s mine:

Saturday we had our tables delivered. The good news, they brought the coffee table with the side tables, rather than delivering it later in the week as scheduled. The bad news — the top of the coffee table has a piece that appears warped. So they’re coming to look at that on Wednesday. The coffee table has a pop up section and that the piece does not lay flush once it’s down. Fortunately even the delivery truck driver agreed it was off and contacted the company right away. This shouldn’t be a problem, just a bit of a process that requires patience (oddly, they didn’t feel the need to have patience about charging me for the item). I’m rather proud of my patience :-)

Sunday we had some hard drizzle and not much else where we are. L.A. usually gets a bit more rain than us, but this really isn’t much of a storm. However, aside from a walk with Maggie, it did keep me inside most of the day and that led to…baking! I made chocolate chip cookies. I may not make my protein goal for this day with the chocolate chip cookie dough taking up space in my belly, LOL. I’m totally okay with that. I’m not sure if you all know this or not, but chocolate chip cookies are medicinal and excellent for emotional well being.

Out of the blue, Wizard asked me if I would like to go to dinner, and where, on Valentine’s Day. It seems like these last few years, he’s been the thoughtful, romantic one! I randomly suggested a steak house that we were talking to the kids about not too long ago, and to my surprise, Wizard was all for it and made reservations right away.  As it turned out, we couldn’t get reservations on the 14th. Not a big deal, we chose the 13th and are looking forward to it. I appreciate that he thinks of these things and cares enough to make an effort.

This week I may look for some table lamps, but there’s an end of the month lockdown on our budget, so I’ll be just looking :-)

How was your weekend?

I’m glad all your tables got delivered, but bummer about the coffee table. Sounds like they’re going to make it right, though, so yay. Yay for chocolate chip cookies, too! And yay for a romantic Wizard! Have fun looking at lamps!

Nothing much went on here. I did the grocery shopping on Sunday for a change. The store was super quiet, so it was a totally comfortable experience. Well, except for the prices. Yeouch. (I shouldn’t gripe. The prices here are probably way less than you’re paying there. But still…) I made pizza on Saturday. Yum. Other than that, it was all pretty blah.

Patience IS a virtue.  Hopefully a replacement table will arrive in a timely fashion–like whoever is coming to look at it will bring it with them. Yay for drizzle, walks and especially chocolate chip cookies! 🍪 Awww. Wiz is a keeper! 🧙🏼‍♂️ (That’s a wizard emoji… ) Good luck with the lamp hunt.

My weekend was quiet. I measnt to work on Saturday but I ended up piddling. I did play around with Grok, the AI progtram on X. I gave instructions on the image I wanted created and Grok gave me four to choose from. I downloaded all four because they were hysterical! I posted one on my author FB on Sunday. The prompt was “Wolf enjoying coffee while reading a paranormal romance to figure out why the females enjoy the books.”

Sunday, I had fumble fingers when it came to setting up the blog but I finally get it scheduled for this morning. I also got 3 chapters edited inclucing one that was almost 5K words long. I have 3 chapters, the original epilogue to this part, and two scenes to add in. Then a final read/fix, formatting, uploading and hopefully that in time for a preorder period of at least a week for Valentine’s Day release.

Today, I had the “laser scrape” on the left eye–which is my “bad” eye. The fact it’s dilated isn’t as big a deal but I was still up at 4:30 so I’m ready for nap. I’ll be taking one later.

Happy Monday and cheers to a good week for us all!

That’s great you got all the tables this weekend. I’m sorry there is an issue with the coffee table. Maybe there is an adjustment that can be made. If not I hope they bring a replacement.
I’m glad you got a drizzle, I wish you had more. I worry about those darn fires.
Making cookies was a great way to handle the rain 🥰.
Some times the tummy needs cookie dough 😉.
That was sweet of Wizard. It will probably be nicer not on Friday, less crowded. I’ll probably have us go somewhere on the 15th.

The weekend was like they all are now with the exception of taking C’s C out for her 30th birthday Sat. We went to a winery right here that hubs and I used to go to years ago. It’s beautiful. Hubs had some issues but we got around them. The food was excellent and C was happy.
Afterward C and C went to Home Depot where he gave her a 1K limit to pick flooring and paint for the laundry/dog room. Yesterday he went and bought a new dryer, painted and put in a new tile floor. It looks so nice. He finished a 11PM. She has to wait a couple months for money to buy the lighting she wants. It’s cute watching them really change this house he bought.

I made broccoli soup last night for dinner. It turned out pretty good.

    Have a great day!

B.E., the cookies are good, but I’m actively resisting today :-) I find it easy when I freeze half of them as I know the cookies will be available if/when I want them.

I’m with you on prices. There’s probably a higher cost of living here, but I’m sure your prices are jumped at the same rate as ours, so the pain is the same. It sucks. But the pizza is a definite win for the weekend! I made some a week or two ago and Wizard was thrilled. But I don’t think mine is anywhere near as good as yours!

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Silver, I was surprised to see you pop up as soon as you did after your eye procedure! Hopefully you’re feeling okay and the results will be good!

I’m more thinking about going shopping for lamps than actually doing it, LOLOL. I need to go to another town and it’s a pain, so I’ll get around to it eventually. We have overhead lights, so it’s not a time crunch thing.

Grok sounds fun! I left X when I shut down all Lyon specific social media. If I ever miss it I’ll rejoin as me. But I’ve done similar things with ChatGPT and it’s pretty funny.

At least you caught that you fumble fingered the setup. I usually find out when I wake up and my stuff hasn’t posted, LOL. Glad you got it sorted out.

That was a weekend of editing! But at the rate you’re going, you’ll make your V-Day deadline! And this is with doing the two eye procedures in that time! Pretty Impressive.

Hope you got a nap and feel rejuvenated!

Viki, I doubt the tech will bring a replacement, but it could happen! The table isn’t driving me crazy, so I’m just going with it for now.

I agree, the 14th on a Friday will be a zoo. Thursday works fine for us, but most people would prefer Saturday like you’re considering.

Winery’s are usually lovely and I’m glad you were able to go there to celebrate C’s 30th!

They do sound cute together, and like they are well suited to work out these issues with no one being upset! The laundry/dog room sounds nice! Fixing up a house together is such a good way to find out how well you work together, and they seemed to have that nailed down!

Broccoli soup sounds good! Hope you’re having a good week so far!
