I took Maggie to the vet for a routine thing. She get’s anxious like most dogs and didn’t want to go with the vet tech. The vet tech was nice, but firm and picked her up and whisked into the treatment room. These are really quick 10 minute visits and that includes cutting her nails.
When the vet tech came back, I asked if Maggie was good. She said, “Yes, she just lies there for me.” And then she demonstrated by throwing her hands up like a turtle on their back. I don’t know why, but that cracked up. And while Maggie might be anxious, she’s calm and trusting enough to let the tech do her thing. I’m really glad Maggie’s a good girl.
The tech also weight Maggie and she’s FAT!! Okay I’m kidding, the tech didn’t say that, and Maggie’s not fat. But for a year or longer, she was losing very small amounts of weight consistently. It wasn’t alarming, but both the vet and I were watching it. Then the vet discovered the hernia when she removed what we though was a lipoma. So clearly, Maggie is doing better! I knew she was eating well and not throwing up, but seeing confirmation that she’s stopped losing weight and even gaining some back is really nice!
Also, the staff liked the cookies I dropped off for them
Otherwise, my Wednesday will include an early morning appointment to look at more floors. Isn’t it funny how you think you know what you want until you walk into a showroom with tons of choices? Of course, one we price it all out, we may find we love the floors we have It’s all good, we’re just researching options and pricing it out for now.
How’s your Wednesday going?

I pictured Maggie on her back with her legs up in the air and it made me smile too. You have a great vet that she is so trusting.
Your cookies, heck, all of your baked goods always look amazing so it’s not surprising that they were a hit!.
Good luck with picking out the flooring. You’re right about how all the different choices really mess with you.
Hubs has had a cold and I seem to have something as of today. It’s not a normal cold, no sore throat, no sneezing, very little coughing but tons of crud going down the back of my throat and my glands are swollen. I’m super tired too. The thing is, I can’t be sick since hubs is like a 4 yr old. I will push through.
I had to return Fourth Wing to the library and was only 1/2 way through. I’ve requested it again. In the meantime, I have Henry Winkler’s book. It’s a quick and easy read.
I hope you are having a great afternoon!

Viki, thanks I like the vet and the staff. They are nice and helpful.
Floors are hard, but we’re learning more and that helps. Now we have the time to focus a bit Plus we don’t have any pressure to do this and that helps too.
Oh no, I’m sorry you and hubs are both feeling under the weather. Here in CA viruses are everywhere. I’m shocked we haven’t caught anything yet. If you’re glands are swollen, you are sick or your body if fighting it off. I’m hoping for the latter! Unfortunately illness does not care if it’s not a good time to sicken us
Fourth Wing is a long book. But maybe it’s a good time to read a lighter, faster book like Henry Winkler’s book if you’re not feeling well.
Hope you and hubs feel better soon!
