Friday Five
TGIF!! And time to share five random things about our week. Here’s mine.
- The painting is done! It took four days, and dang, they worked hard. They also cleaned up and put furniture back which was awesome. Wizard and I are very happy with the whole experience. Wizard and I have painted houses, but these guys did a much better job then we ever did. We went from white walls to a color called Agreeable Gray. The paint the builder sprayed the house with is awful — it’s chalky and wipes off when I clean spots. This paint should hold up much better. And of course, the baseboards and took a beating from the floor installation (a normal amount). Now it looks fresh and clean! We still have to wash all the floors, then unpack. I really don’t mind though. It’s so nice to get the big projects that require so much physical work done!
- Maggie has been so good through all this. I thought she’d be more stressed, but she’s pretty much just rolled with it. I think Wizard and I just fear another round of the stress colitis she had after boarding when Wizard had surgery, but I think that was a one off kind of thing. She’s been fine the last two times we took her there.
- While all this was going on, Wizard talked me into going with him to our sister in law’s house where I learned how to caulk in three bathroom. Um…he lured me into coming with him by telling me I could play with the dog, Bailey, while he did some repairs. He lied
When we got there, he handed me tape, glove and caulking and told me to get to work. Well played, Wizard, well played. But we got it all done to the best of our ability. I didn’t mind, I’d rather work than sit around and wait. - I’m impressed with my new ENT doctor. His staff called me this week to let me know they had my MRI results and offered me a phone or in person appointment. I chose in person, and they got me in next week. I so appreciate them being on this. And now it’s not bugging me since I know they have the results and we’ll go over them next week. As frustrated as I sometimes get with people who don’t do their jobs, it’s even more important to appreciate all those who do!
- This weekend, we plan to stay home and work on the house.

1. You hired the right team. It’s so much easier to handle having competent people doing work in the house. So glad you are happy. I just love the name Agreeable Grey 💕.
2. Maggie is a real trooper. It’s great that she did so well.
3. Oh Wizard is sneaky😉. It nice that the two of you are able to help SIL out like you do. Seeing her Bailey dog is a plus.
4. I like this new ENT you have. Seems like this crew is much more interested in you than the last ENT was. I would have chosen to have an in office visit too.
5. Don’t bust your butt too much this weekend.
1a. I made reservations for tomorrow at this Hungarian place that’s very hard to get into. They moved from Cleveland to our little TWP and the place is 1/4 the size. C loves it though and since hew does so much for me I set this up three weeks ago. Hubs isn’t thrilled but …..
2a. I’ve been doing some shopping on line today. Hubs needs slacks so I pointed and clicked at Kohl’s. We’ll see how they turn out.
3a. While at it, I decided I wanted a new dress. Click ☺️.
4a. I’m half way through Legacy of Temptation. I’d be done if I could stay awake. It should be a very fast read.
5a. I’m planning Easter dinner. I bought a huge carrot cake. I hid it in the freezer or else hubs would want to eat it. I’m going to make him cinnamon buns Sunday so that should make him happy.

Viki thanks on all! It’s a neutral gray, and I hope we continue to like it. But the painters, like the floor guys, were great as far as we can tell. It’s funny, but I’m seeing another ENT in the same office (due to insurance) but the experience so far has been complete opposites. Maybe it’s a chemistry thing too, who knows. I’m just grateful to get this addressed and hopefully rule out anything growing undetected. Now for you:
1) What a lovely gesture for C! I love how you found a place he really loves and got the reservations. He must feel very loved and appreciated by you. Hope you guys all have a great time.
2)Hope the slacks work out for hubs.
3) I’m very happy you bought something for yourself! We don’t do that enough.
4) I hear you on trying to stay awake! I just sort of lost interest, but that’s a me thing lately. I still love the author!
5) LOL, that was smart to hide it! I’ve done that with Wizard if it’s something he loves. Amazing that you’re making cinnamon rolls! I’ve had a recipe I’ve wanted to make for a year and haven’t done it. You’re better than me!
