TGIF, and I’m an idiot…again, LOL. I deleted current blogs when I was trying to delete old blogs from years ago. Between removing my books from sale in EU countries on one site, cleaning up unused FB sites and this, it’s an endless chore. Then I get impatient, and accidentally delete stuff I wanted to keep. Sometimes I amaze myself with my own genius <insert sarcasm>.
And second aside here: We had really high winds this week and there’s horrible fires in part of So Cal (not near us). I’m praying for all of them. There’s little anyone can do to stop the fires in those strong winds. My heart breaks for those people who’ve lost homes. I’m praying no one is hurt and the firefighters are able to get control soon.
Now let’s move onto sharing five random things about our week. Here’s mine:
- Our Anniversary was Wednesday. It felt odd as we did nothing. The trip this weekend is our celebration. All that said, we’ve been married over four decades. This last year when I faced a concerning diagnoses, I realized how lucky I am to have a partner I had zero doubt would stick with me no matter which way it went. So while we both had worries and fears, ending up alone and feeling abandoned was never one on them. That’s priceless and I don’t take it for granted.
- Wednesday I also saw my sister, Biker Witch. We went to a makeup store as I was looking for something. And while I was there, I let a salesperson demonstrate skin care stuff for me. So she took off all my makeup and put on magic elixir stuff. I spotted my sister wandering around, and asked her, “What do you think?” Her response, “I can see your freckles.” Um…thanks???? I told her “That’s why I was always Mom’s favorite.” The conversation continued with more playful sister sniping and we had the salesperson laughing. She got it — she has a sister In case anyone’s worried, no one’s feeling were hurt. If my sister had said I looked fat, then we’d have had a problem. And I do have freckles, it’s not a secret After all that, I may have gotten upsold on some magic elixir. And yet, I still woke up looking like a woman who is not in her thirties. Shocking, right?
- You know what’s not fun? The day before travel. Just saying.
- Yesterday, I was rushing around due to #3. I stepped into my stretched out flip flops and went outside to soak my pants (it’s going to be a warmish weekend). I turned around to put the hose away, and caught my the hose in my stretched out flip flops and flung myself forward at a scary momentum. I was fine because I caught myself, but dang it, I knew these flips flops had become dangerous for a month now. I was too cheap them out throw out because I use then around the house and back yard. After that near fall, I threw the things away and got out my newer pair I was saving…for what…to be buried in when I killed myself? My intelligence is being seriously questioned this week. Just saying…
- We’re off to a low key trip. We’re will probably do a little side trip for ourselves Saturday, then spend the rest of the time with Oldest, Special K and Turbo. Youngest and his wife will be spending time at the house. And Maggie is off to her Spa Vacation (she’s old s0 I like to keep her on the routine she knows and understands).
That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Ack. I hate when I’m tidying stuff and end up tossing something I didn’t mean to toss. Happy Anniversary again. You guys are an awesome couple and I’m so happy you have each other. :hugs: LOL about the store and Biker Witch. I don’t have that kind of relationship with my sisters, but it sounds fun. Traveling isn’t fun for me. Yay for catching yourself! Yeah, it’s not worth it to save your good shoes and kill yourself in the process. I hope you two have an awesome trip. =o)
1) I think I’m starting to turn this toadiness around. Yesterday, I got some exercise and I also did some editing. One day in a row… it’s a start.
2) I made pulled pork yesterday, too. The way I’ve been doing it, it’s more like French Dip than BBQ pork. If we want BBQ sauce on it then we put it on the bun.
3) Sawyer is such a moose. I mean, he’s huge. Not fat, per se, but he’s a lot of cat. And he likes to play rough. I’m teaching him to be nice, but he’s not always all the way there yet.
4) Finn is on the large side of normal, but next to Sawyer, he looks like an itty bitty kitty. He’s such a sweety-pie, too. He’s my snuggle-monkey.
5) We weathered all the nasty storms this week with minimal issues. A few small limbs down, a couple of power burps, and that’s it. We did get like six and a half inches of rain over like 48 hours, though. Swoosh.

I hate tech housework because tech hates me. Sorry that happened but you’re probably glad to sweep the cobwebs. The Mountain Fire in Ventura County is awful! I always worry for you and yours in fire season. And those winds! Yeesh. Happy Anniversary! And yes, the right partner is priceless. Good siblings and teasing is also the best. Glad you two are so close and had such fun. Magic elixir huh? Safe trip this weekend and yeah, packing and getting ready is a pain. Uhm…I blinked at you soaking your pants. Then figured out you were watering the garden. Watch out for flipflops. They have hidden safety agendas. Just sayin’… Safe trip, enjoy the family time and side trips, and yay for Maggie Spa Vacation. Okay, my five (and I’ll try to actually post FIVE this week 😆 ):
1. Weather is the big deal this week. Tornados in the area Sunday and Monday. They missed us but hit others in the area. We got rain. And we’re ending the week with rain. Just rain. No severe weather.
2. Storm front brought fall temperaturs–FINALLY! I switched out the summer linens and bedspread for the winter sheets and comforter. I also turned the mattress. Sleeping warm and snuggly on these cool nights.
3. I baked. Cookies. It’s auction time for Stormy’s school and part of the auction is the “dessert table.” People bid on desserts to share after the meal. Last year, my snickerdoodles sold for close to $70 so only asked me to bake again. Then she called from a committee meeting to ask if I could do two batches because they were short on desserts. I asked if she wanted a different cookie for the second batch. So chocolate chip cookies got added to the mix. They are all made, baked, packaged in cut cookie jars and delivered.
4. I voted Tuesday and of course Jake went. Jake loves the poll workers (they’ve been the same for several years). The line wasn’t bad for my precinct but the other precinct that votes in the same place was 3 times as long. Everyone in my line was petting Jake and he ducked under the table to get pets from the workers while I was signing in and getting my ballot. After I voted, we briefly stopped by the other table for pets and folks were commenting that having therapy dogs to entertain the line was a good idea so I used my court bailiff voice to call out, “Anyone else need pets before we head out?” So yeah…it took awhile. Lots of folks wanted pets. Then the I say a story where Univ. of Oregon had therapy dogs, goats, and a duck for students upset by the election.
5. Pete is very happy that I’ve switched to winter on the bed. Part of the additions is a folded fleece “lap blanket” down on one corner of the foot of the bed. That’s his new happy place and it works for me because I don’t have to move him when I get up in the night. Sorry. No funny Pete antics. Rainy weather makes him sleep a lot. I want to be a cat.
No real plans this weekend. I think there may be soccer games but I’m not sure and it may depend on how wet the fields are. Rain is supposed to end today but they’re forecasting inches of rain. Other than that, I’ll probably kick back one more weekend and hit the ground running come Monday. Time to get over the Lazy. Have a great weekend, all.

1. Happy Anniversary a couple days late. You two chose the right partner 💕.
2. Fun times with Biker Witch. So you bought the magic elixir? Good for you.
3. Agreed. The day before a trip is stressful.
4. Wow! I’m glad you didn’t hurt yourself.
5. Have a really relaxing fun time on your trip.
1a. I got my new tires and am happy with them.
2a. I decided to do beef Wellington for Thanksgiving this year and am trying to come up with sides. C’s C is a veggie so I’m thinking of doing a sweet potato salad that have cherries and nuts in it. Still working on others.
3a. C’s C asked me to go with her tomorrow to get manicures. I Don’t normally do them because my hands are always in water and the stuff just chips off. We’ll see how this goes.
4a. Called the gutter guy. He’s coming out next week to clean them. I’d say 98% of the leaves are off the trees so it’s a good time.
5a. The dishwasher came loose from the cabinets and C had to order new brackets. They arrived now he has to find time to do it for me. Thank God I have that kid💗.
Enjoy your trip!

B.E., I’m so late answering, but I did read everyone’s comments. So let’s start with yours, B.E.
1) Yay! Two E’s (Exercise and Editing) in one day is a sign of commitment!
2) I love French Dip And it sounds like you guys were happy with the pulled pork exactly as you did it.
3) Sawyer sounds like he just gets really into playing. It’s hard for some animals to learn to be gentle. If he’s doing it sometimes then he’ll get there!
4) Aww, Finn!
5) Yikes that’s a lot of rain in a short time! Glad you weathered the storms okay.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Silver, sorry for being so late. And I’m the same on tech housework, and I haven’t done it like I should. Now I’m paying for that. Okay for you:
1) Glad you haven’t had to deal with the worst weather issues. But it’s a lot of rain in a short time.
2) You’re all set for Fall and then Winter! Here in SO CAL, we just break out our light jackets or zip ups, LOL.
3) What a great Grandma!! I bet all your cookies sold out!
4) I bet Jake was the best medicine ever for the poll workers and those stressed!!! Jake is Awesome!
5) I don’t blame Pete for sleeping a lot during the rain. It’s drowsy weather for sure! And he gets the winter bedding as a bonus!
Hope you had a good weekend too!

Viki, sorry for being so late, and thanks!! We had a good anniversary and trip.
1) Whew, glad you’re happy with the tires. They are a bit of investment of $$, so being happy with them is a must.
2) You’re ahead of me on your T-Day menu. But yours sounds good! Mine will be turkey because that’s what i like, LOL. The rest will get worked out this week.
3) How did your manicure turn out? I don’t do them anymore for that reason too.
4) The timing makes sense on getting the gutters cleaned.
5) Your son is awesome! He seems pretty happy to help and that really is priceless.
I hope your weekend was great!
