Distracted Brain

True story of my life lately:

Yesterday I went to the grocery store alone as Wizard had a meeting. Before he left, he said, “Don’t forget my turkey slices and tortillas.”

I said, “No problem. They’re on the list, and I’ll remember anyway. Especially the tortillas since we buy them every week.”

Guess what I came home without??? Yep, I forgot his turkey and tortillas. I was so irritated at myself. But this is what happens when I mentally build the dinner menus while shopping because I like to see what meat is a available and reasonably priced — then I build out my dinners from there.

Wizard just laughed when I told him. Later in the day, I ran to the store and got the items. Wizard was busy doing other things, so I didn’t want him to have to do the errand too.

But really, how hard it is to buy the items that on are on the list? Sigh…I’m getting so easily distracted these days!

Happy Wednesday!

You are not alone. I think we have all done this. I even circle really important items now so that I don’t forget them.

So you shop off the cuff. I shop by sale flyers.

I tend to shop two or three stores on the same shopping trip and if I don’t separate the items clearly by store I am very likely to have to go back. I just won’t go back on the same day. I’ve even changed dinner plans if I have forgotten an item.

It’s still super cold here. TN is cold too and Harrison has been off school. They go back tomorrow.

Yesterday while shedding down the hill in his backyard he went feet first into the backyard neighbors fence. Yes, he broke it. Three of the steel bars broke. My reaction was it was good that he went feet first rather than head first. The neighbors are not happy. I guess with it being so cold the metal couldn’t hold up.

I hope you are having a good day.

Viki, Yikes on Harrison! Glad he’s ok. The fence can be replaced. It was just an accident and hopefully the neighbors realize that. Bub wow, who knew steel would break like that!

Glad I’m not alone of forgetting things, LOL. I do an outline list, including meals I already have on hand and any ones Wizard and I specifically wanted that week, then work from there. I also list everything we need to restock. Over the years, that flexible outline has worked best for us.

Hope Harrison will be happy to go back to school! The cold blasted parts of the country has been pretty wicked.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
