It’s Wizard’s Fault

As I predicted, I didn’t get a post up yesterday, and I blame Wizard. He’s a terrible influence on me.  When I’m on deadline, NOTHING stops me from working.

But when I’m not? Wizard lures me out to the backyard and pool. He’s just evil. And if it’s not the pool…well see this is what happened yesterday.  I got up early to go to the gym and noticed the kitchen faucet was leaking. So I mentioned it to Wizard when I got home from the gym. He looked at it and said we need a new one.

He said he’d go to Home Depot and pick one out, and I could keep working. I strongly suggested that he get a certain kind that I like.

I know he rolled his eyes. But I don’t care too much at this point, so I shrugged.

About forty minutes late, he came home, glared at me and said, “You have to come with me. I can’t pick it out. There’s a whole wall of them.”

So I went…

Long story short, I wrote one page yesterday.  But overall, my weekend was great!

How was your weekend?

Hey Jenn mine wasn’t the best. My grandmother passed at noon Friday. I’m okay because we had a bond like none other and I know she is good.
I finished Storm’s Heart and I liked it. Not as much as Dragon Bound but it was good. I really like how Tiago always called Niniane “Faery.” It was so cute.
Hope your week is a good one.

Viki, I’m so sorry about your grandmother!

Jen, that is too funny! Did Wizard think there were only going to be 3 or 4 to pick from?! And they wonder why they need us witches so much!

We had a good weekend around here. Weather was nice, had a cookout with my brother and sister-in-law, nothing much happened. Lazy weekends are the best and this was my last one for a while! Soon I’ll have class on Saturdays and my oldest will have football games….sigh….

I’m so sorry about your grandmother, Viki. :hugs:

Glad you had a nice weekend – even if you only got one page written. And tell Wizard it’s okay. The selections at Home Depot can make anyone’s head spin. Do we really need 7000 different types of showerhead? Really? ;o)

The weekend here was okay. I spent most of it vegging out, but I did get my CP’s chapters read and commented on. I also had an idea for the book she’s working on. (She’s being very helpful.) The real excitement, though, was yesterday when a trio of out of state teenage boys ended up being the subject of a townwide manhunt. And I picked the middle of that to run out of flour. (I was crisis baking for a friend, so I had to go to the store. Really I did.) Police everywhere. It was a little thrilling.

Vicki I am sorry for your family’s loss. A Grandmother is a treasure of wisdom and kindness that can not be replaced.

The begining of last week was the east cost earth quake and then the east cost hurricane. Some of us are afaid of what is coming next. We have had earth, water/air, we do not need fire. A volcano would be just to much.

Never send a man to Home Depot alone. Just sayin’! It’s a matter of self-preservation!

There are days I really wish I had a pool. But…water dog. Big. Hairy. Water dog. And nothing but sand in the back yard. I’d never have a clean house. What?!? My house gets cleaned. Sometimes….

Is it Friday yet? I need appletinis…

And Viki, I hit [submit] too soon. Let me add my condolences for your loss. Grandmothers are so special. May you all be at peace.

Viki, I’m sorry about your grandmother. I know she was very special to you, and that her memories will stay with you forever. I’m glad you’re okay, but it’s still hard.

Shiloh, I’m glad you enjoyed this last weekend since you’re going to be super busy between classes, football and kids.

I’m not sure what Wizard thought. I didn’t laugh…he was too frustrated. I will laugh now, though :-)

B.E., it’s like you were in the middle of a book come to life :-) But I’m sorry you had to crises bake for a friend–hope the friend is okay (and hope I understood that right). Oh and hope those teenage boys are okay too.

I often get ideas from my CP’s, and I hope I give them ideas. Sounds like you found the right one.

We ended up going to Lowes, where they had 999 different facets. And of course, I had to get a really simple on as Wizard was sure a million things would go wrong with the more sophisticated type. I picked the simple one just to stop the gloom and doom predictions :-) (Plus I plan to redo my kitchen in the next five years or so: Shhhh, don’t tell Wizard)

Kat, such lovely words about grandmothers! I wish I’d been able to know mine but they died young.

Anyway, the east coast has been hit rather hard. I’d say you’re all due for a break.

Silver, I know…but Wizard gets going on something, I just step out of the way. He’s the same when I’m on a mission of one kind or another. He just gets out of my way :-)

A pool is a lot of work. I don’t do the work, other than little stuff. Wizard LIKES doing it. He loves that pool. Big hairy dogs who love water could be a problem–although imagine how much fun you’d all have!

It can’t be Friday yet, I just got Wizard back to work :-)

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

When we bought our house I told hubs no pool because I knew I’d have to take care of it. They are a lot of work. When he retires I may change my mind since we’d both work on things ;)

Viki, forget to say, thanks for letting me know what you thought of Storm’s Heart!

Good reasons to not get a pool. There are also expensive, we’ve had to replace a few parts in the equipment and it’s not cheap. Fortunately, we kind of budget for things like that.
