TGIF!! I, for one, am glad it’s Friday and this week is over. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Now let’s get to sharing five random things about our week. Here’s mine:
- The diet and tests are over! Hence my joy at the week being over What I’ve seen so far of the results is good, but I can’t tell if I’m still a candidate for one more treatment. There was one uptake spot in my neck, that I don’t understand enough to know if I’ll need more treatment. That’s going to be something we’ll decide with my doctor at an appointment at the end of the month. But the great news is there’s no evidence of metastasis and that’s everything at this point. Wednesday night, we celebrated by going out to dinner. Now for two things that stood out during the whole experience. #1) When I took the tracer pill 24 hours before the scan — inside the radiation area of the hospital — I was not allowed to TOUCH the pill. I had to use the small vessel to pour it in my mouth then swallow it with lots of water in cups lined up on the table. And I’m like, okay, I won’t touch it but I’m SWALLOWING it. It was a weird feeling. And for #2) When the scan was done, we got good news that I won’t need a CT scan which is a hint that things are good. If they look bad, they would have sent us over to the CT scanner in another part of the hospital. We were thrilled and left — making it all the way to the elevator to leave, when the nurse caught us and we had to go back. They’d found a spot on my hip. Our hearts sank, hard. But they quickly rescanned it, and it was fine. Whew, we were relieved and this time, we hustled to the elevators before they could burst our happy bubble again
- On Tuesday between the morning and afternoon appointments, I visited my granddaughter who was quite chatty. She’s really learning to make noises and mouth movements in response to our talking to her. She’s cute and was the perfect break in an otherwise very long day. Here’s a pic of her talking to me:
- I took Maggie to the vet yesterday for a couple shots. The vet tech told me not to worry, she and Maggie were friends. I was amazed to see that she got Maggie to go with her almost willingly. So yep, they’re friends! Even after two shots and some invasive exams. Sadly, we were there when a family brought in a dog who had passed. The entire office went quiet and respectful, trying very hard to not interfere in that family’s clear and painful grief. While it was sad, at least people tried to not make it any worse. It’s good to see people come together in quiet support that way.
- One of the days I was gone, my handbag arrived. I love it. It’s silly but this is my present to myself. Here’s a pic:
-
This weekend, I may do some catchup stuff on the house and see if I can find a wallet for the new bag. I may have one here, or I’ll get one (cheap, LOL). I know I’m not seeing either grandchild, while the radiation in the tracer pill I took was low, I’m still going to wait through the weekend to be 100% sure before I see either kid. It’s overkill, but I’m fine with that.
That’s my five, now I’d really love to hear yours! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ugh. I’m glad, though, that almost everything is looking okay with you. I hope that one spot isn’t anything major. :hugs: OMG, she’s sooo cute! Yay for Maggie having a good vet visit. I’m sorry to hear about that family. Losing a pet sucks. Ooo, pretty purse! Have a great and relaxing weekend.
1) I’ve been trying to spark interest in my books by having freebies and sales. I’ve given away a lot of books and seen some sales, but nothing to get excited about. I’m trying to look at the big picture and accept that something is better than nothing, but it ain’t easy.
2) We finally went fishing. I caught one little bitty fish. Again, something is better than nothing. Fishing is better than not fishing, even if there’s no catching.
3) The eagles are back for the winter. So are the yellow-bellied sapsuckers. Yay.
4) I’m going to do a kind of EditWriMo this month. If I put my head down and focus on editing, I could have this ready for sales before Christmas.
5) I’ll be so glad when Tuesday is over. I’m so tired of the phone calls and the ads.

BigBiGBIG HUGS on the good medical news and the diet and tests over with! 🤗 Happy bubbles all around! Baby girl is sooo cute and such a Chatty Cathy! Yay for precious family time. Good vet offices are as precious as gold. Glad Maggie is good to go. Cool bag! I like it! And we all deserve pressies to ourselves occasionally. Don’t overdo the weekend but yeah, better safe than sorry. Okay, my five:
1. Stormy has been under the weather all week. Yesterday his pediatrician diagnosed walking pneumonia and put him on double antibiotics for a couple of days and then just one for another week or so. Evidently, its going around. He was here Monday, his dad took off Tuesday, then we had him Wednesday, met Baseball Boy and Stormy at the MD’s office so BB could get to school, and he’s here today.
3. We had rain Tuesday and supposed to have more over the weekend. YAYAYAYAYAY!!! I also took advantage of the weather to get a newsletter out. I totally suck at marketing.
4. Panic point of the week: LG needed my debit card but couldn’t find my “wallet” in my purse. So I went to look. Understand, my “wallet” is the size of a thick dayplanner! It was NOT in my purse. It was NOT in the chair where my purse normally resides. It was NOT in my car. It did not help that I had a blood sugar drop in the middle of the “crisis.” The last time I’d seen it was on Monday when I went to Wallyworld. LG even called them to see if it had been turned in. TOTALLY freaked out, I made peanut-butter-and-jelly toast and wolfed it down. LG was standing by the pantry door and I stared at him and the lightbulb went off. “Check the bags!” (I used reusable grocery bags and they are stored in a big cloth bag hanging on the back side of the pantry door. He checked. AND THERE WAS MY WALLET!!!! That was my Halloween trick because my wallet has a name stamped on it: Book of Spells.
5. Pete and Loki story of the week: Pete was sitting on the corner of the bed playing gargoyle. Loki often does this but on the kitchen table and peering over the edge while Pete eats (Pete’s bowls are under the table). Loki dashed in and under the bed so Pete began to “patrol” the edges of the bed. Loki has a trick of climbing up the mattress from underneath the bedspread. He did that, coming up on Pete’s “six.” The game was on! Pete pounced every ripple of the bedspread as Loki scrambled from one side the the other hiding under the bedspread on the floor. They played like that for almost five minutes. Silly cats. But highly entertaining!
We’re supposed to have 3 days of rain starting tomorrow. YAYAYAY! Also, our weather is finally down to seasonal temps! Finally! I mean, it IS the 1st of November so about dang time. It’s 45 as I’m typing this. This makes me happy as I sit bundled in my zip-up hoodie. Not sure what I’m doing this weekend. 1st Saturday is cancelled due to weather and Stormy being under it. No siren test and likely no lunch. Only’s b-day was Wednesday so we’ll family celebrate at some point. We’d already sent her presents from her ‘Zon wish list for her classroom. Have a great one, all! 🥰

1. That is excellent news! It’s nice that you went out for dinner to celebrate. I hope you had all the yummy things you missed the most.
2. What a cutie. Looks like it was a very intense conversation 🥰.
3. You have a fantastic veterinary office.
4. Nice bag💗.
5. Good luck on the wallet search and I don’t blame you in being extra careful being around the little ones.
1a. It took three days but the pharmacy finally got hubs medications and we have had two nights so far. He’s either being super quiet so I can’t hear him (not happening) or he’s only getting up a couple times during the night instead of the at least once an hour.
2a. I’m going for a massage tomorrow. Mainly to just get away. My shoulder does need lots of work but I think most of the issue right now is stress related.
3a. It was in the upper 70’s low 80’s the past week but over night it dropped and our high today is 47F. Fine with me. Last year it snowed and we had three inches, so I’m good.
4a. I made the appointment to get all new tires for next Tuesday.
5a. While running errands this morning I drove past two goats standing on a picnic table. I love these two and look out for them every time I drive by. They make me smile.
Have a great weekend!

B.E., since the problem hasn’t metastasized, it’s good. Any localized problem we can take care of if necessary. The procedure was interesting but I’m no in a hurry to repeat it, LOL. Thanks on Baby Girl, we have fun with her. It’s heartbreaking for the family that lost their dog, but nice the vet office is kind. I believe it helps.
1) Trying to get traction now is so hard. It sounds like you’re trying your best. I really hope something breaks lose and starts a big momentum for you.
2) Good for you getting away to fish since it’s something you truly enjoy. I know the stress of marketing is exhausting and can feel a bit gloomy at times.
3) They make for good bird watching.
4) Go for it!! I bet you’ll get it edited and ready for Christmas! Or maybe New Year when people are looking to spend Christmas gift cards
5) I’m with you on that. If I never hear another political advertisement for the rest of my like, it’ll still be too soon. (That makes no sense by I stand by it, LOL).
Have a great weekend!

Silver, thanks on all! Not only better safe than sorry, but I’ve been driving all over for weeks now for a variety of reasons. I’m ready for a break closer to home. Most of it was fun stuff to do but I’m developing road rage And yeah, the medical news was good. I’m still awed by the care I’m getting — I sleep better at night these days. And it’s nice to know I was doing the right thing in ignoring the doctor who told me I just had acid reflux.
1) Oh my gosh, poor Stormy. I’m sorry he’s been so sick. Pneumonia can be stubborn to treat sometimes, and it sounds like that he was pretty sick to need double antibiotics. Hope he feels better soon! And that you and LG don’t get sick, or his parents.
2) Umm…there is no 2 or I need to put on my glasses.
3) Rain!! Yay and it’s perfect for writing a newsletter. No you don’t suck at marketing, it’s a hard thing to do and requires constant attention. Most of us don’t want to live and breathe marketing.
4) YIKES!!! I was pretty sure you were going to find it but I was stressed for you! I’m not sure I would have thought of the grocery bag, but I can see how you dropped it in there. If I was juggling things, I might have done that too. Whew on remembering!!! And so sorry for that adrenaline rush of panic. I hate that and it takes forever for my body to shake it off.
5) Pete and Loki getting quite a workout playing these days! It’s wonderful that they’ve agreed to be playmates now and have so much fun. Bonus — they keep the humans and witches entertained
Wow 3 days of rain is some real fall weather. Sounds like you have an open weekend so anything can happy! Happy Birthday to Only! Whatever you do this weekend, enjoy!

Viki, we had a nice dinner. It was nice for Wizard too — he’s been so patient and supportive. It’s easy for people to forget the spouse goes through as much as the patient (something you know very well!). And the baby is already so social, we’ll see if that changes when she’s starts have fears or if that’s her personality.
2) I’m very happy you’re getting a massage and doing something for yourself. I’d bet stress is making your pain worse. Hope the massage helps.
3) That’s quite a weather change!
4) Good time to get the new tires before the worse weather set in.
5) LOL on the goats! I love watching goats, but we don’t have many around us here. Enjoy them when you can!
Hope you have a great weekend and a relaxing massage!

Like the old inspiration poster, if you love something set it free. If it comes back to you, it’s yours. If it doesn’t, it never was…. Yeah. #2 hasn’t come back.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
