Weekend Roundup

Time change! I know how much you all love the time change, LOL! But it’s here, and we’ll adjust. Except the pets who have to wait an hour longer for dinner — they are protesting :-)

So you know what I did this weekend? Nothing. Okay I did stuff, but nothing big and I’m good with that. I made some cookies, cleaned a thing or two, and we went over youngest for an hour or so since we hadn’t seen him and his wife for a while.

This week we’ll start getting ready to go to Cambria next weekend. But that shouldn’t be very hard. And after that, time to plan Thanksgiving!

How was your weekend?

LOL, don’t get me started on the time change. We’re working on slowly getting The Boyz onto the new schedule. I’m glad you had a nice nothing weekend. Yay for cookies and visiting BLB. Shhh, I’m not ready to think about TGD.

The weekend here was pretty tame. I did some work in the woods. Read a lot. Watched too much TV. Last night we had a bodacious storm, but thankfully, no swirlies or power outages. Time for a new week, filled with possibilities.

I promise not to get on my rant box over DST. Suffice it to say that I left 3 clocks on real time and I didn’t have to turn them back. And we all should take a weekend to just be a lumpin sometimes.

B.E.’s bodacious storm hit here first and we DID have some swirly things. Missed my neck of the woods but hit others and left some serious damage in their wake. ๐ŸŒช๐Ÿ˜ž On a happier note, we also got copious rain, which is continuing. ๐ŸŒงโ›ˆ We needed it!

This morning started with sirens–more tornado warnings and heavy rain. They closed the schools just in case because there’s another round coming through that has an even better chance of the twirlies. The Kids are getting a free day off and Stormy gets an extra day to recuperate, though he is feeling much better.

Saturday, we had family dinner at the pizza place to celebrate Only’s birthday (last Wednesday). A family was there awaiting word on their mini Pyradoodle (Great Pyrenees/miniature Poodle mix) who was in surgery after swallowing a sock. Dad brought the daughter over to find out what kind of dog Jake is and to see if she could pet–which of course she could. Later, he returned with his younger son and say their pupper had come through fine and the vet expected a full recovery. It was a nice evening.

I totally vegged too. I was headed to Wallyworld today but I’m stalling until tomorrow due to weather. On tap this week is baking and getting started on new writing projects. We’ll see what happens there.

I like B.E.’s sign off. Cheers to a new week filled with possibilities! Have a good one, all.

B.E., poor kitties! I feel for them, and so does Maggie. I hear you on Thanksgiving.

Nice on getting work done outside! Glad you were able to get to that before the storm. And really happy you didn’t have anything worse like tornadoes!

    I’m all for possibilities!

Silver, I know how you feel about the time change :-) I’ll agree that this time, I did need a down weekend. There’s some mental stuff that goes along with all this, and I truly began to feel a little of that lift. I suspect that will be a process though.

I heard about tornadoes in your state, but didn’t see specifically where so I thought of you. I’m happy you got rain but not about the other damage. Tonardoes seem scary to me (fires and earthquakes seem normal, LOL).

Smart to put off the trip to Walmart! And man, Stormy sure was sick, but yay for getting better! The poor kid is probably ready to feel normal again.

Happy Birthday to Only (again since I said it Friday too I think). That’s awesome that you were able to get together to celebrate. And wonderful that the Pyradoodle came through surgery fine. It’s mind boggling on these crossed breeds, LOL. I see it all the time now.

Yay for vegging weekends — the help us recharge. And I’ll toast to possibilities too!

I’m happy the time is back to normal but none of my auto devices updated at 2 AM. I was up but didn’t pay any attention so I got hubs up at the usual time only to find out that it was an hour early. After I turned off the TV the Spectrum box re-set and so did my phone. That’s the first time I’ve ever had an APPLE product or Spectrum not update at 2am. We survived and Spunk was happy because his breakfast wasn’t delayed.

Good for you! Taking a weekend and not doing way too much is good for you. Like you said, you’ll make up for it later getting ready for your trip.

I’m glad you spent time with BLB.

Did you buy a wallet to go with y our new bag?

I planned our anniversary dinner at a place we’ve never been before for this Saturday. Saturday is our actual anniversary and C&C are coming along (C’s driving). I think it will probably be our last anniversary dinner at a restaurant.

I spent hours at the bank this morning doing some financial planning. I hope I made smart decisions.

Tomorrow I get my new tires.

Have to go make dinner, roast chicken.

    Have a great afternoon.

Viki, that is weird that your devices didn’t update. But then, technology can hiccup for a variety of reasons. It’s what makes it so frustrating. But at least Spunk benefitted.

Yes I bought a wallet. It’s a bit bigger than I wanted but I had trouble finding one. It’s leather though, and I like it.

I hope you have a great anniversary dinner at the new restaurant. Ours is Wednesday and we’re doing nothing :-) The trip is our celebration. We plan to do buy some wines, so I guess that’s our gift to ourselves :-)

I’m sure you did great at financial planning. You’re smart and understand the basics. A few points are always a gamble, and you did the best you can with the info you had. But I bet all that feels a little lonely to you now. I feel for you on that.

Just in time on the new tires. The weather is getting more intense.

Hope your roast chicken came out good — it’s one of my faves!
