I’m moody. I hate being moody! So I’m heading off to the gym (I think) to shake it off.
So my weekend–Wizard came home early on Friday, we went to the movies and saw GROWNUPS. Wizard’s choice He laughed and I laughed at him so a good time was had by all.
Saturday I met a couple author-friends at Starbucks then we went to the bookstore, which of course is the perfect start to any Saturday! Then we went to our local RWA chapter meeting.
After that–work. It seems I’m not getting much time to read, which is frustrating, but I have bought some books!
BRANDED AS TROUBLE my Lorelei James. I did read this one and wowzer–it’s hot! (It’s an erotic book published by Samhain)
VAMPIRE MISTRESS by Joey W. Hill. I don’t think I’ve read anything by this author so I’m looking forward to it.
THE MILLIONAIRE MEETS HIS MATCH by Kate Carlisle. This is Kate’s first Desire book, you might know her as the author of the mysteries HOMICIDE IN HARDCOVERS and IF BOOKS COULD KILL. I can’t wait to read THE MILLIONAIRE MEETS HIS MATCH.
CLAIMING HER BILLION-DOLLAR BIRTHWRIGHT by Maureen Child. I love all Maureen’s books, but she has a new series coming out next year that I am over-the-moon excited about! I will be telling you more!
and finally, I bought:
COLBY CONTROL by Debra Webb. Deb is on my MurderSheWrites blog, and I’m so excited to read this book! This is her Harlequin Intrigue about her wildly popular Colby Agency series that I have heard so much about. All these books are basically stand alone but have reoccurring characters, so I’m starting with her latest COLBY CONTROL.
Okay that’s it for me. How was your weekend and what books have you bought lately?

I went book shopping last week and was a bad bad girl. I ended up with 10 new books of varying genres – including Gena Showalter’s latest Lords of the Underworld and Pamela Palmer’s new Feral Warrior. One new to me title I’m particularly interested in is something called Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch. That one looks like fun.
Your weekend sounds fun, Jen. Mine involved mowing, avoiding the heat and wrestling with my WIP. You ever have one of those stories you don’t think you’ll ever get right… but you’re so damn close you can taste it? That’s this book. Alternately thrilling me to death and driving me to tears.

We took a day trip (3 1/2 hours each way) to Silver Dollar City–we needed to get away from the puppy, the muddy yard, the murky pool (the pool store had me add soda ash to fix pH–now, we have milk water–yes, I’m still seriously pissed!) All it took was one good roller coaster ride upside down to put everything back into perspective.
I’m currently reading CHANGELESS by Gail Carriger and I’ll read ENEMY LOVER by Karin Harlow next.

We drove down to Houston this weekend, the boys are spending the week with grandparents. Of course it gave me time to read, I read a book on the way down and a book on the way back. Sex, Lies and Online Dating by Rachel Gibson and then Crazy For Love by Victoria Dahl. The latter is a read for book club.
I’ve bought TONS of new books lately, way too many to list.

Sounds like you had a pretty great weekend. And, wow, that’s a lot of books. Hope you get some time to read them soon
Friday I finished reading Christina Dodd’s CHAINS OF ICE. Saturday I had to work. Ewww. Luckily we managed to get out by about 2PM. Then I had just enough time to go home, change and repair makeup before meeting my cousin at the movie theater. We went to see ECLIPSE. I liked that one better than NEW MOON. There was more action and the two main characters were less whiny and annoying. After the movie we went to dinner. It was a really nice night. My cousin and I usually only see each other at family gatherings. It was nice to have some time just for us. Sunday I didn’t do much but read. I finished reading Nora Robert’s THE SEARCH. I have to say I was a little dissapointed in it. It just didn’t seem to convey the character’s emotions very well, not like I’ve come to expect from her previous books. Next on the reading list is Nalini Singh’s BONDS OF JUSTICE.

Sorry I’m so late!!!
B.E., You got some good books! On your WIP–hell yes! I so recognize what you’re going through. There are no easy answers either. Just keep at it! You’re almost there, and when the answer comes to you, you’ll be like, “Really? It took me this long to think of that, or see that,” or whatever it is!

Margaret, what the heck on the pool! That doesn’t sound like a fix at all! I’d be pissed too!
Awww, a puppy! But LOL on having to get away!
Glad you enjoyed the roller coaster! Oh and I want to read ENEMY LOVER by Karin Harlow too!

Dawn, half my weekend was great, the rest…bleh.
Now once you were done with work, your weekend sounds cool! Glad to hear there was less whining in the latest twilight movie.
I have to get BONDS OF JUSTICE too!

Argh! I hate when the captcha thing doesn’t work and blanks out my comment.
My weekend was filled with house and yard work. No fun but had to be done since I’d put it off so long.
I’m reading an “Old Skool” romance, Linda Winstead Jones’s DESPERADO’S GOLD. It’s surprisingly entertaining. Next up is Leslie Parrish’ COLD SIGHT. I LOVED Karin Harlowe’s book, FYI.
This weekend and today was miserable weather-wise. Storms, deluging rain, and high humidity. Right now, it’s only 82 degrees but 80% humidity makes it feel like breathing swamp water when I step outside. Happy Monday, witches!

I won’t even touch my weekend… Down from highlighting a friends hair (when she forgot to tell me she had gel in her hair), to riding lawn mower fuel line being busted…. to netbook dropping and broke.. Yeah.. Okay…
Now let me see what you guys were up too…!!!!
Oh Jen sounds like you had a great weekend!!!

Silver, you need a vacation! (like me). It’s all work and no play!
Your weather is just adding to the misery!
I can’t wait to read Karin Harlow too!

Cecile, that’s not a weekend, it’s a disaster! I’m so sorry!
You definitely need some Hunk TLC!!
