Monday Roundup

I had a good weekend! Saturday, I worked and read. Sunday I went out with Biker Witch (my sister).  Amazingly, we did not get into any trouble.  It’s miraculous really, given that Biker Witch is the troublemaker in the family.

I’m the good sister.

No really, I am!

Fine let’s change the subject, shall we? I learned something new, and  I am going to share it here with all of you: The Super Secret Formula To Making Wizard Happy.  (Get your minds out of the gutter! Sheesh! I don’t mean THAT.) Okay ready?

Here it is:

A 46 inch flat screen TV + High Definition = Blissfully Happy Wizard.

What’s hilarious about this,  is it took us years to buy this TV (because we’re cheap), and then we swore we didn’t need high definition (Because We’re Cheap).  Ever (BECAUSE WE’RE CHEAP).  Once we got the TV home that lasted exactly two weeks. Then Wizard caved, and got High Def.

Happy, happy wizard! And a happy wizard makes for a very happy witch!

Okay that was my weekend, how was yours?

I had a great weekend. A group of friends and I took a belly dancing/tease workout class on Friday evening, it was so much fun.
Saturday we just hung out after my youngest’s soccer game and then went to some friends house.
Sunday was cleaning day, oh joy.

I didn’t get much reading done though and that makes me sad. I’m about half way thru Night Magic though and really loving it. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Saturday I should have studied for my exam on Sunday, but instead went into spring cleaning mode and cleaned the house top to bottom! (Literally) Then Sunday, you guessed it, I had to go to school! It will be worth it in the long run, I just wish I had done it before kids and bills and responsibility! lol But I had a test, did good for not studying much. Read a couple new books, wasn’t too impressed with either, read Night Magic and LOVED IT!!!! But really, how could you not love Phoenix and we got to see a lot of my favorite bad boy, Key!!! Love him!

Read, crocheted, did some soul searching and came up empty… you know, the usual. LOL

Super cheap people here, too. We probably won’t have HiDef until that’s the only thing they offer. Of course, I’m also trapped in a time warp where I can’t let go of my old technology, so there’s that to contend with, too. It took me years to break down and buy a flat screen monitor. I’m glad Wizard’s happy with his new toy. =o)

Had a great weekend. For the forst time in awhile just sat around and did mostly nothing. Did finish Night Magic (enjoyed it immensly) , and got through more of my assassin book as well. Upgraded our cell phones, so I played with that for awhile. And watched a lot of Merlin with the family. We watched the first season on Netflix and got hooked. Now we are almost through season two. Sad thing is we have a ton of stuff on DVR, I don’t think we will ever get caught up, lol. Just don’t have that much time to veg out in front of the TV.

Next thing you know, y’all will be switching to a Blu-Ray DVD player. Liek you, I’m cheap. I resisted. Lawyer Guy’s brother convinced him. He found a 52″ on sale, (REALLY CHEAP), but then we had to find the furniture to put it on. (Not cheap AT ALL). Now we have fancy Blu-Ray and home theater surround sound that scares the dogs – lol. I have to admit, I swore I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I can. And it’s huge!

Okay. Weekend. Friday night, I cooked brisket for The Only and Baseball Boy who returned from London honeymoon. Saturday & Sunday I cleaned, worked on some deep edits, and started reading Larissa’s SIN UNDONE. I don’t have near enough time to read!

And it’s Monday. All day. How many days until Friday and appletinis?

Busy weekend. My daughter had her first formal. I admit it, I cried a lil. A 15 yr old shouldn’t look that grownup. :-?

Did a lil shopping Sunday and my man Kevin Harvick won the NASCAR race. :-D

The Hubster loves his tv stuff. Last year our tv died right before Christmas, so we had to get another one. He opted for a 52″ HDTV. OMG HD is awesome. I love watching football in HD. I can see the color of the players eyes. Once you go HD you never go back!!

Amanda, the belly dancing class sounds like a blast! Are there pictures :-)

Cleaning is such a downer, but I guess it has to be done.

Glad you’re enjoying Night Magic so far.

Shiloh, it’s so much harder to go to school with kids, and I’m impressed that you are doing it!

Thanks on Night Magic, I love both Phoenix (don’t tell him!) and Key.

B.E., hmm, soul searching–would that be about writing?

As it turned out, the High Def was a lot cheaper than we expected. But boy, shifting to new technology is always a learning curve. It’s a pain, so I totally understand being attached to the technology you know!

Val, it’s a really nice weekend when you can relax! So you updated your cell phone? That’s where I’m holding off. I hate paying the monthly fees as it is.

    Thanks on Night Magic!

We don’t have a DVR, so we just watch what happens to be on when we feeling like watching TV. It sounds so cool to have shows lined up that you can watch when you have the time.

Silver, I thought I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference either, but I was wrong! A 52 inch is huge! We don’t have a big enough space for that. Surround Sound is on Wizard’s wish list.

    Blu Ray–shudder! But I’m sure you’re right.

How was the trip for the kids? It must have been fabulous!

You’ll have to tell me if you like SIN UNDONE.

I need appletinis, I’m already behind.

Ashlynn, oh yeah! I heard the end of the NASCAR race as I worked. IT was pretty awesome. Wizard likes NASCAR.

You’re another 52 inch girl, LOL! But the HD really is awesome!

I owe you an email too. Somehow, my email and social media is breeding every time I step away, but I’ll catch up!

I really enjoyed not having to work this weekend :) I went to B&N and got Sherrilyn Kenyon’s INVINCIBLE. It was fun and easy to read. I finished it in one night. Now I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. I also looked for NIGHT MAGIC while I was at B&N. They didn’t have it :( What is wrong with them? They’re supposed to have all the books I want!

Sunday, a friend and I went to the local minor league hockey game for a work outing. $15 tics for $8. Gotta love that deal. Home team lost but it was fun anyway.

Silver, I hope you like SIN UNDONE. I want to hear what you think of it too. If you like it, you’ll have to read the rest of the Demonica series.

Wonderful weekend. Even though it was cold the sun was out. Had a bridle shower to attend on Sat. and took a hike with Hubs on Sun. Feet not used to boots – big blisters :(. But it was still fun.

Dawn, you can ask the B&N to order you the book, if you want to. I do that some times. Glad you enjoyed Kenyon’s INVINCIBLE!

Sounds life fun in spite of the teams loss!

I want Silver to hurry up and read SIN UNDONE!

Viki, ouch on the blisters! But still, I think I’d rather hike and get blisters that go to the bridal shower :-) Although I always have fun at them once I get there.

Jen, I’m with you on hiking rather than the shower. I did have fun once there :). It was for my niece. She’s getting married in NYC and I won’t be able to attend because my son is graduating from Kent State that morning.

I agree. Those kinds of toys make wizards very happy. Especially mine. It’s weird right? It’s not even close to getting a pair of Jimmy Choos. Go figure.
