Reading

Wow, getting dragged into a new story and new world is exhausting! Plus I have this tiny piece of news about the Wing Slayer Series, but I don’t have enough info to share it yet.

So moving on…

I’ve just started Michelle Rowen’s NIGHTSHADE.  I’m not too far into it yet, but I’m enjoying it.  I’m trying to read new-to-me authors.

So that’s what I’m doing, how about you?

I can’t wait for you to pass on the Wing Slayer news :) .

I’ve been adding quite a few new to me authors to my TBR pile but I’m going tohave to cut back. I’m getting behind in authors I already love. But, I am starting Laura Wrights’ ETERNAL HUNGER later today and she’s a new to me .

What? You’re making us wait?!?! That’s just wrong, Jen! I hope it’s good news at least :)

I’m finished reading Jennifest Estep’s Elemental Assassin series this past weekend. Or rather, the series so far. I have the 5th book preordered for my Nook. I’m now reading Kris Greene THE DARK STORM. It was one of the “other people who bought this also bought” books for something else I read. So I downloaded a sample. Then I had to buy the book. And it’s another series. I don’t need to add any more series to my reading list, but I keep finding more. D@#&it! Plus, I’m getting ready for a concert next Tuesday. My cousin, my best friend and I are going to see Jimmy Buffett. I can’t wait!

Oh, now that’s just mean. =op

Good for you trying new authors. I love finding a great author I never read before.

Right now, I’m reading an MG – Rick Riordan’s The Throne of Fire (the second in his Egyptian myth based series). Next up is anyone’s guess. Jennifer Hillier’s debut suspense – CREEP – should arrive today, and it’s leaping to the top of the pile. But I also picked up some wicked awesome titles on Monday… Arrgghh.

*stares over her glasses* News? And you aren’t spilling? Bad witch!

Reading? I’m not but need to. #@!%^&* writing gets in the way. On my desk ready to be read is Georgia Evans’ BLOODY GOOD, a paranormal set in WWII England that made me laugh when I read the blurb. It’s from the library so I’m reading it ASAP. Also, Leslie Parrish’s COLD TOUCH. This dark romantic suspense is garnering a LOT of buzz. I love Leslie’s work and I’ve been fretting that I haven’t started it.

And now to work. The sooner I finish this draft, the sooner I’ll have a bit more time for reading. Is it Friday yet? I sure need an appletini!

Dawn, you’re going to see Jimmy Buffet? Awesome! I hope you guys have a blast!

I added the two authors you mentioned to my list. I’ve been meaning to read the Elemental Assassin series anyway.

B.E. Sorry for being mean! LOL!

THE THRONE OF FIRE…I’ve heard of that. I wrote it down to check out.

I love wicked awesome titles :-) But choosing which one to read next is always hard!

Silver, when you’re that buried in writing, would it even matter if it was Friday? We’ll just serve up appletinis now and you keep writing!

I know Leslie’s supposed to be fabulous! I stepped away from dark suspense a while, ago, but I think it’s time to go back :-)

Back to work for both of us!

Hey Jen – I’m only about 38 pages into ETERNAL HUNGER but am loving it so far.
By the way MOCKINGJAY was incredible. I really recommend this YA series.

Silver I am reading Cold Touch this weekend while I am at a camp retreat out in the woods. I hope it is an urban setting in the book. I didn’t want to bring anything about werewolves out into the woods. I am off to a camp retreat for women girl scout leaders. Camping, Canoeing and no kids or husband. We are even having a mock Happy Hour. I will be good and not sneak in the vocka in my canteen. The lenghts I have to go to to get some reading time are just extreem at times. If I pretend to be lost in the woods would you send Ram after me. I promise to “be preparded” if he shows up.

Oh me too – I’m finishing Julie James’ Something About You. I’m not normally a contemporary romance reader but I met her at the RWA book signing (she sat next to Silver and came highly recommended). I must say, it has been an enjoyable read and I’m gonna have to drop her a line and tell her so :)

Kat, you sure you want to read that book while camping? I can’t wait to hear how this goes! I think I’d better send Ram just to make you feel safe :-)

I’m not touched that “be prepared” comment. No sirree, not saying a word. Nor am I going to look at the grin on Ram’s face!
