It is a scientific fact that my vacuum hates me. After I wrestled with this thing all week, trying to replace two belts, I gave up. I told Wizard that on Monday I was having the floor coverings ripped out. And then I was going to buy sidewalk chalk and start a whole new home improvement fad.
Wizard was not impressed. Saturday morning he took the vacuum to the repair shop. Turns out I broke a pulley or something while in my marathon battle.
I’m telling you, concrete floors with sidewalk chalk decoration–it’s going to catch on!
Otherwise, we had a good weekend. Saturday, we went to see the movie CRAZY, STUPID LOVE. I thought it was so-so. Some slow parts, some amusing parts.
Still working on the new series idea–it’s taken on a life of its own. I hope that’s a good thing, but it could be bad too.
So that’s my weekend, how was yours?

I hear you on the Evil Vacuum(tm)! Mine is less than six months old. It’s been in the repair shop FOUR times–this last time for a month. Yesterday, after I finished the Sekrit Project, I went out for Starbucks with my CP to celebrate. Lawyer Guy decided to run the EV(tm). It clogged up. And then attacked his foot! I got home in time to apply ice. If the darn thing breaks again, I’m sending it to the curb and I’m going to buy a cheapy and just toss it every time it breaks and buy a new one. I could have bought TEN cheap ones for what the EV cost!!!!
OOH! I think its a good thing the new project has taken a life of its own. When that happens around here, Iffy grabs her scissors and starts a Snoopy Dance.
I need to email you… Have a great Monday, witches! I’m catching up on laundry, mail, errands, and reading!!!!! WooHoo! Tomorrow, writing starts again but for today? I’M FREEEEEEEEEEEE!

Silver, your vacuum is evil! I hope Lawyer Guy’s foot is okay. And I’m so glad it’s not just me! Next time, I may buy a Dyson–or just buy a cheapie. I don’t know.
Huge congrats on finishing your project! Did you send it to Secret Agent Lady? I’m really excited for you!

After much debate we ended up with a Kirby. I hate it! It’s heavy, hard to maneuver, and it has a bag. It’s supposed to do everything but I can only get it to do typical vacuuming. This was the hubby’s choice because of how “great” it is…..blah, blah, blah! I think since I’m the only one who uses it I should get what I want. So I think I’m going to go drop it in the lake and say someone stole it, then I can get a dyson!
Otherwise my weekend was good. My summer classes are almost over. I am studying for the entrance exam for the program, I take that on Friday. The kids were great, the dogs were so-so, and they hubs worked all weekend.

Ours is an Electrolux. Picked by LG because of their reputation for quality. Sales person assured him she had long-haired dogs who shedded copious amounts and hers (same model) never missed a beat. Uhm…did we get a lemon?
I keep thinking about Dyson but…dude. Getting that repaired is even more trouble if we break it.
And Jen, nope. It’s with my CP and a beta reader. I’m…emailing you right now. LOL

I feel your vacuum pain. One son took one to college to clean his apartment and brought it back saying it didn’t work. While I took it apart on Saturday I found the orifice where the dirt gets sucked up blocked by a Dave and Busters coupon. It now works just fine – imagine that. Otherwise I had a great weekend. Same son and I went and saw Cowboys and Aliens – FUN!

Shiloh, and that’s why I don’t want a Kirby
Good luck on your entrance exam! Sounds like you’ll be studying all week.

Silver, you really make a good case for going with a cheap vacuum. Right now mine is working again.
Okay, CP has it, so agent will get it after you’ve tweaked and polished.
I got your email, but it’s busy here with kids coming, etc. So it may be Wed before I reply.

I bought a Bissel last year when my old vacuum died, and I love it – even if the filter thingie does get clogged with cat hair a lot. I’m glad your problem was only a pulley. I hope it wasn’t too expensive.
My weekend? Washing the car, doing housework, taking a break from blogging, writing, editing, etc. I’m just going to chill for a few days and see if I can’t get my mojo back. =o)
