Weekend Roundup

I had a good weekend! Saturday I went to my local RWA chapter meeting, and Dr. D. P. Lyle was the guest speaker.  I could only stay for the first half where he talked about the Psychology of Character Motivation. It was fabulous! If you ever get to the opportunity to hear Dr. Lyle speak, I highly recommend you do so!

That evening oldest son, his girl friend and Bailey Dog came out.  I made dinner, we hung in the Jacuzzi then we all went to McDonald’s for dessert because I wanted my 5-point chocolate dipped cone :-)

Sunday I talked Wizard into going to see some wall art I found. We bought it and hung two pieces. I  had bought two vases previously that matched perfectly. Wizard was impressed that I pulled this “look” together.

Hey–even I have good days once in a while, LOL! Never mind that it’s been two (maybe three?) years since we painted the inside of the house, and I took down all the valences and curtains over the blinds, threw them away and SWORE I’d get new window treatments. Of course, Wizard could care less, so he is complicent in my laziness. Maybe he should care more then I might follow through.

Maybe. But probably not. Sigh.

So how was your weekend?

Other than the mini-panic attacks I keep having about the kid going off to school, the weekend was fine. I watched a lot of golf, baseball, and a little football. Life’s good, but it’ll be better when college ball starts again. =o)

I’m also trading pages with a writer buddy of mine to try an whip these books into shape. So far she’s giving me really insightful comments, and I hope I’m helping her, too. Time will tell.

B.E., I recommend appletinis for the panic attacks :-) You’ll both get through this huge change in your daughter’s life. She’s going to do great.

I’m a big believer in critiques IF they are the right critiques at the right time. Sounds like you hit the jackpot on that!

Glad you had such a nice weekend. How does Bailey like the Jacuzzi? Pee Wee (eldest son’s dog)is afraid of the noise. I haven’t had one of those cones. Are they as good as they look on TV? I may just have to have one :).

My weekend was wonderful. They took me out for dinner Friday for my birthday. Then hubs took me out Sat night. Yesterday, my actual birthday the two youngest boys were here and we had my (frozen homemade from March) lasagna. Middle boys buddy from HS came over for cake. He’s like my 4th son :). All in all a great weekend!

I had the absolute laziest weekend and it was great!! Saturday we were going to take the boys to the drive in, but Indiana got lots of crazy wind and rain so no go, we did a cookout with my brother and sister-in-law and dad instead. Got everything cooked before the storm hit. Sunday we had church and then I caught bugs with the kiddos. The only cleaning I did was laundry!!

Weekend? Oh, yeah. There was one. LOL What did I do? I suspect nothing since I can’t remember anything. I did run a few errands and got a new supply of printer ink so I can print out the WIP for submission. Found out there was an easy fix for my desktop computer and it’s on it’s way home now. I can’t wait to get it back! I feel like I can’t really work effectively without it. :( Yeah, yeah. I’m a creature of habit.

Since Lawyer Guy finally had to mow the lawn (we got rain!!!!), I cleaned house. At some point I still need to do laundry, but I really want to get back to work on another WIP. I just have to convince myself that working in the laptop is a viable option. :P

Wait…appletinis? Who has appletinis? And icecream!?!?

Week what? This last week had an end. time to circle the wagons and begin again. High point my 12year old son made a Chinese chicken dinner for the family from a recipe in one of my favorite books on Saturday night. 9 year old sister was so jealous over the praise her brother got that on Sunday she made dessert- brownies from a box. But hey. They are starting to cook even if I still have to do the dishes. :-D

Kat, my folks had the solution to that deal! Whoever cooked got to miss cleanup. If you didn’t cook, you had to do the dishes. Since I hate doing dishes, I always raced home to get dinner on before my brother could! ;)

Viki, sounds like a great birthday!

Bailey is not a fan of the pool or Jacuzzi. He can swim, but he’d rather not.

Shiloh, sounds like a nice weekend! Not sure I’d be thrilled about catching bugs, but I’ve done my share of that stuff with kids :-) And of course, I heard about the Indiana winds.

Silver, you’re printing out submissions? That’s interesting!

Great news about the fix for your desktop! I’m lost without mine, so I really feel for you.

Good news on the rain, except for Lawyer Guy who had to mow :-)

Kat, can I borrow your son? And your daughter too since I love Chinese chicken and brownies! You’ve got great kids!

Hope this is a better week for you.

Silver, you’re parents were smart! I cooked and made my sons do dishes. I like cooking–dishes not so much!
