Weekend Round Up

In good news, BLB is driving. I am so happy. He was able to go back to his house for a couple days over the weekend. This is huge for us. He’s coming back today, and back to physical therapy. Next week, we see the new surgeon.

More good news — I now have an assistant. Her name is Carla (her email is on my home page if anyone needs it)Carla is doing my scheduling, keeping my calendar and getting reviews. I can’t tell you have much this helps me! She’s already doing a kick ass job.

Friday, I thought I took Linc’s book/files with me to BLB’s physical therapy to begin working on it. However it wasn’t on my flashdrive when I looked. I was sort of…nonplussed. I’ve been moving files back and forth without a hitch throughout all this. But the files just weren’t there.

What’s a witch to do?

READ! I shut down my laptop, picked up my Kindle, downloaded a book and started reading. I felt guilty that I wasn’t working for about five minutes. Then the next thing I knew, BLB was standing there, looking at me. I didn’t even hear him. Which, of course, made him laugh at me.

I’ll talk about the book I read tomorrow.

That’s enough about me. How was your weekend?

Fantastic news on BLB :). He must be overjoyed.

Kind of met Carla this weekend. I will be reviewing RAM! I’m so excited :).

I’m so glad you got a chance to read. Sounds like it was much need therapy if BLB could come up on you and not be noticed.

My weekend was the normal. Nothing real exciting. The 23 yr old was up and having insomnia, therefore very grumpy. So yesterday while the younger son and hubs were golfing I took 23 to Barnes and Noble. I bought him a Starbuck’s – I hate their coffee, it’s bitter. I also bought him a book. Needless to say he was happy :).

    Have a great day!

Yay! Him driving again must be a relief for both of you. Get him out of the house and back to some measure of independence. :waves hi to Carla: I don’t know if your assistant will be stopping by the blog, but tell her ‘Welcome’. And sorry you lost out on a writing opportunity, but hurray for losing yourself in a book. =o)

This weekend, after many weeks of not being in a writerly place, I got back to work. I also read a bunch. If you haven’t tried LJ McDonald’s sylph series (Battle Sylph, Shattered Sylph and The Queen of Sylphs), I’d totally recommend it – even if I haven’t read the queen one yet. Good stuff. Now I’m working on Nightborn by Lynn Viehl. Yay for the Darkyn!

Viki, you’re reviewing FM? YAY!! Carla is awesome. She’s keeping my hopping with all she has going for me.

I hope you enjoy the novella :-)

Your poor son with his insomnia. He has my sympathy! I struggle with it all the time. And your such a nice mom to take him to B&N and buy him a coffee and a book. BTW, I never drink their coffee black–too strong and bitter. But as a latte it works great and I get my non fat milk in.

B.E., I was planning to make your lemon bread this weekend and never got to it. But soon!

It’s great to have BLB driving. He may still need some breaks, but it’s a huge improvement. And he loves having his freedom back.

So great to hear you’re back writing! You’ve obviously had a break though!

I’ll check out the books, thanks!

Yay for BLB driving and able to spend some time at his place! He’s progressing by leaps and bounds. I’m really curious as to what book held you so transfixed!

Yay on the assistant. I want to be a famous author like you so I can have one. ;)

Great news about BLB! He’s got to be pretty excited. (I know I would be in his place.) And, good for you, taking time out to read :D

This weekend I read JR Ward’s LOVER REBORN and Shelly Laurenston’s BEAR MEETS GIRL. Both really great books. Saturday I went w/ the parental units to visit my aunt in Hospice. After that, we went to eat and then to a fund raiser for my cousin’s daughter. The daughter received a scholarship for IMTA (Int. Modeling & Talent Assoc.) classes in either NYC or LA. They had the fundraiser to help w/ all the other expenses. Then Sunday I went over to my friend’s place. We had lunch and watched a couple of movies.
