Had a great weekend! I ate too much. I’ve been slipping a bit in my eating, so today I’m hitting the gym and my WW eating program.
Mother’s Day was so nice. BLB gave me a card with a Stork that said, “Sorry no refunds.” So funny! Guess I’m stuck with him, LOL!
We swam and had a great day, in spite of the fact that when I was drying off, oldest son threw an entire glass of ice water on me.
For no reason.
Okay, maybe I was splashing him a lot. But once he threw the water on me, he ran and jumped in the pool to escape my wrath. I would have gotten him back but I was laughing too hard. I totally deserved it. Plus he caught me by surprise, so bonus points for him.
Until next time, of course. Like when he’s sleeping
Oh and I read Silver’s novella BLOOD MOON too. Loved it!
How was your weekend?

Ice on his back while he’s sleeping should jolt him into the reality that mom always comes out on top ;). My grandmother and my uncle used to play around like you two and that’s how she ended up getting him.
It sounds like you had a great weekend.
Hubs and I went out for dinner Saturday and I had my credit card declined. First time that’s ever happened and I began to freak out until I remembered we used my card for our vacation. Hubs paid the bill on Friday but that hasn’t cleared yet. It’s a good thing I had another card to offer them or we would have been washing dishes :).
Have a great day and enjoy your workout.

I hear ya on the eating too much. Ugh. Just call me ‘Waddles’. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I hadn’t picked up a pie on the way home from getting the Kid. Or made the quiche for my breakfast yesterday. Or bought those bacon/cheddar stuffed chicken breasts. Today, her and I get back on the wagon. (Right after I have some leftover quiche.)
Cute card from BLB. And doesn’t Oldest know you’re not supposed to throw ice water on the mama on her special day? Shame on him. ;o)
I bought Silver’s book, and it’s next up on the Kindle list. So, maybe tomorrow. I have to finish the one I’m on now.

Viki, oh man, I feel for you on that card! We only had that happen once and it wasn’t a decline but a “hold” until we called. Turned out that we were Christmas shopping and an unusual amount of activity appeared on our card so the credit card company froze it–while we were shopping. So embarrassing. But I realize the company was being responsible.
My kids are evil…I think they get that from Wizard We all play around–especially out in the pool. It’s so much different with the kids pretty much grown up now.
The gym was good. Having trouble with my ankle, but I’m not giving up my cardio. It’s a huge stress release for me.

B.E., I would have picked up a pie or something too! And cook. Don’t feel bad, we’ll just do better this week, right? Step away from the quiche (um, if someone told me to step away from chocolate, it would not end well, LOL!)
Oldest should be ashamed…but he’s totally not. He’s proud of himself even if he did jump in the pool with his flip flops on to escape me. I loved having them home for Mother’s Day even if they are evil. I missed my middle son, but he had to work.
Silver’s book is a quick read! You’ll enjoy it when you get time!

Jenn – Are you able to favor your ankle and still workout? I’m one of those that pushes even when I’m injured and have been known to make things much worse. So I was wondering how you get around it? Do anti-inflammatory pill help? I really hope it feels better.

Awwww! I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Jen! I have to admit Mac and Hannah are some favorite characters of mine. Lawyer Guy ran the vacuum for me yesterday as my Mother’s Day gift, The Only and Baseball Boy gave me an Amazon gift card, and the BIL/SIL met us all for dinner at our favorite Italian place. It was a great day all-in-all.
We must create a fitting spell to get back at Oldest. I’ll put my evil witch hat on and see what I can come up with. Take care of that ankle, though!
B.E., hope you like the novella! As Jen said, it’s a quickie.
Sorry to be so late “making my rounds” today. This morning was a Monday. All day. *sigh*

Viki, nope I’m ignoring the pain and just concentrating on keeping my hips, knees ankles in alignment. I have to live with a certain about of pain when I workout anyway, but this is starting to go a bit over my tolerance. My doctor had mentioned the ankle/foot felt warm and swollen last time I was in there so I’ll tell him when I see him.
I’m already on anti inflammatory meds
Odd that it doesn’t hurt much during my normal activities though. Or I’m just not noticing it.

That is a great card! It’s the kind of thing I would have given my Mom. As for Oldest, well it is an Oldest kind of thing to do. I feel the vibe…
My weekend was good. I spent Saturday ferrying Drill Sgt. Girl to her ice skating lessons/practice/lessons. But, all that siting around waiting meant that I read BLOOD MOON, too. Silver, it was really great. I’m looking forward to the next one. Sunday we went to see the Avengers and then the girls took me out to lunch– Mimosa brunch buffet. Just what I needed an all you can eat thing with out of this world food. Then they took me to pick up my combination mothers day/birthday gift– a new bicyle. I bike around a lot so it was a great gift.
Oh– and we had the same thing happen with a credit card too. It was declined because we were making too many purchases at a flea market type of place. Terribly embarrasing!

I’m glad you enjoyed it, Julie! I’m working toward getting the next one released a little ahead of schedule. Keep your fingers crossed.

Silver, it was a fun read, thank you! Can’t wait for the next one!
I’m guessing with your pups, you have to run the vacuum more than I do. Glad you got a break, had a nice dinner and dessert. And aren’t Amazon g/cs the best? BLB gave me one too
I will get revenge on oldest and enjoy every second of it. But I was impressed that he walked right up to me with the ice water and I didn’t realize what he was up to. Usually I’m quicker than that!

Julie, you had a busy Mother’s Day but it sounds like a good one! Awesome on your new bike!
It really is embarrassing with the credit cards!
