I’m happy! I finished the major portion of the revisions on THE PROPOSITION late yesterday. I still have more to do, mostly cleanup and a final edit, then it goes back to the editor for her final round of edits. But I am really happy. God I love this novella beyond words. We’ll see if I can get that across in the pages If nothing else, writing this book has brought me true joy.
Next week, I’m going to face the truth–Christmas is coming and I shall be forced to shop. I’m going to try to make a new deal with myself. Normally, I get really anxious (huge understatement) over gifts. I don’t want to disappoint anyone. Last year, I drove myself to exhaustion trying to make the perfect Christmas.
Then BLB was hurt. And just like that, the presents and meals were meaningless. No one cared. All that mattered was that we pulled together as a family to deal with BLB’s injury. In the moment we needed each other, we were there.
So this year, I’m going to focus on what we all enjoy, be grateful we’re all here and that BLB has come as far as he has. We’ll do gifts, but they are just things. One missed-the-mark gift doesn’t change the love we have for one another.
Have a great weekend!

I can’t wait for THE PROPOSITION to be published. Your being so happy tells me it’s going to be a really great book :).
As for Christmas this year I think you have it right. After all you went through last year, focusing on what make you all happy is the way to go.
I have my husband, his former wife and our youngest to shop for still. The youngest only wants a dog and that’s out so he’ll most likely get an envelope of money to take on his trip to Canada after Christmas.
Yesterday was middle sons 24th so we’re all going out Saturday for dinner. Should be nice.
Have a great weekend :)!

Yay! I’m so happy for you. I can’t wait to read The Proposition.
Yep, Christmas is coming. And I’ve bought exactly one present so far – Chocolate covered potato chips drop shipped for my mom. I haven’t even ordered anything for the MIL, and that’s got to be shipped, too. Ack. The rest of it is okay, though, because we’ve decided not to buy each other gifts this year. Sure, it’ll be weird not seeing presents stacked around the tree. We’d rather save the money for something really big later down the road, though. And you’re right – they’re just things anyway. We’re all here, we’re all healthy. That’s the important thing right now.
So glad BLB is doing better, that you’re happy, and that your family is well. :hugs:
Happy Weekend, witches!

Yea on writing. No worries about getting the story across that you love. Your love of writing and the stories you create always comes through- As a reader that is the element that keeps me reading your work and enjoying it everytime.
Christmas gifts—- I have found that gifts that tend to remind people of their childhood…… The time I got my husband the remote control car that he always wanted as a kid……. Or little gag kind of gifts that remind some one of an inside joke or a fun time……… One year some one gave me a pack of Super Glue because they had come to me often over the past year with troubles and I had always been able to “put them back together when they fell to peices”.
Gifts that take more thought then money always mean more.
Get BLB a roll of bubble wrap and tell him it is just incase he wanted to try out any other christmas gifts this year. Your whole gang has such a great sense of humor you should be able to find all sorts of things that bring out the laughs.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I’m not ready. *flail* I hope the bath construction will be over today and then maybe I can do something with the interior decorations. I don’t even want to think about shopping. No one has gotten me their wish lists so…hey. I’m all about dropping coal into stockings. Just sayin’… Maybe I’ll just wrap up copies of my books. That’ll teach ’em. *bwahaha*
Happy Friday, witches. Jen, can’t wait for THE PROPOSITION! Now who’s pouring the margaritas? Oh, Li-inc!

Viki, Happy Birthday to middle son!
You’re way ahead of me in shopping. I’ve bought one business gift and nothing else. I have to get cracking.
No dog, huh? LOL! Have a great weekend!

B.E., great gift for your mom!
I can really understand not buying presents for each other.I think one day we’ll get closer to that.
BLB is better. He will always have challenges, things didn’t go “best case scenario” but he’s tough

Kat, you come up with great gifts! We usually get lists of things they want–especially for our limited budget kids. That way we gave help them out. But fun gifts truly are the best.
BLB and his brothers often to joke gifts that make Christmas morning hysterical.
We’ve all threatened BLB with bubble wrap!

Silver, I’m yelling with you! I’m still waiting for two of those wish lists…but I haven’t made mine either. I just don’t want anything (realistic) this year.
Your book is a great gift!
Chanting that your bath will be done today.
I’m all for Margaritas, but I don’t think I should be in the same room with Linc…I’m fond of continuing to breathe.

Can’t wait for the THE PROPOSITION and you really do have it right. Christmas is about the thought, and being with those you love, yes the getting the gifts for others is difficult, but its the thought that counts.
