Weekend Roundup

Working and going in the pool is the sum total of my weekend. Oh and I read a new adult book Dear Rockstar but Emme Rollins. It was the first book in a New Adult Romance Boxed Set I bought. It started off a bit slow for me, but picked up a little ways in. I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed it.

I’m diving into writing my new book, The Cowboy Marine (working title)  while waiting for edits on Obsession. What is surprising is that this book started without as much agony as is customary for me.  But I’m not complaining! Since I tend to write in layers, it’s okay if the pages aren’t super strong yet, I’ll go back and layer as I discover more and more about the characters.

Wizard, however, is busier than usual doing things like vacuuming for me. There’s an upside to that thing I don’t want to talk about. (Achilles injury) But I’ll talk about it long enough to say that I’m healing well, we’re just being cautious.

And okay, Wizard jumping up and down, pushing his hands up in the “raising the ceiling” gesture and singing, “Woo hoo. Who hoo!” in a fake girl’s voice makes me laugh. Because that’s more or less what  my nieces and I were doing when I hurt myself. Except no one was saying Woo Hoo–or however that’s spelled. Every time Wizard does it,  I crack up.

So it looks like I keep saying I don’t want to talk about it but then I do :-)

How was your weekend?

You two are just to comical. I love it! It’s so easy to picture the jumping up and down ;). I really feel for those couples that don’t know how to have fun. Maybe we’re just blessed that we do :).

Wow – that’s really cool how this new book is starting out for you. My guess is it has a plan and it wants to get out there to “us” ;).

My weekend was normal, nothing special happened. Hubs is headed to Anaheim today for the week. I’m glad he’s going out early. I think he’s going to have fun tonight. Instead of putting on his show on Thursday morning it will be tonight after the 400+ people have had a few drinks in them. Should go over well.

    Have a great day!

You guys are a hoot. I’m trying to picture you dancing that way and him imitating you dancing that way (which is hard cuz I have no clue what he looks like). ROFL. So glad to hear that Cowboy Marine is working well for you. Get that first draft slapped onto the page and layer it later – like cake! =o)

I spent a lot of time this weekend working on edits for one book, getting another ready to start querying again, and just generally laying around the house. It was too hot to do anything else. Saturday morning, the Hubs and I did that camel commercial thing. “Guess what day it is. Guess what. Day. It. Is. It’s Gameday! Woot hoot!” My team won. Yay!

I spent the weekend trying to go all the places that my husband wanted to see.

He is having eye surgery tomorrow. If the surgery does not work he will be blind (he had the surgery on his right eye a year ago. Due to complications the surgery was not successful). If he does not have the surgery he will go blind in a month. It hits you hard when you think about having 72 hours of sight left for the rest of your life and what do you want to see in that time.

All this is because of his diabetes.

Viki- I know your family went through a similar time with your brother in law’s illness.

I thank you all for the prayers and good thought I know you will send my way. I may be sort of out of touch for a while.

Hey girl! It’s been a while, but even though I don’t post, I do check up on you now and again. :) Health is still kicking my ass- nothing new there. I had totally given up writing, because it was just too hard, but found that I missed it terribly. So I decided I would just do it for me, when and where I could. And not worry about writing for publishing or anything else. Of course, I would love to publish something, but, at this point, I just want to enjoy it.

So sorry about your leg. But glad Wizard is there to help up and pick up the slack. Congrats on your son getting married. :)

And of course, I love your Plus 1 books. ;)

Viki, that is so true about having fun! We’ve always had fun together when he’s not driving me crazy :-)

Love that your hubby is doing the show after the audience has a few drinks! I’m wishing him huge success! And then he can relax and enjoy some time in the area, I hope.

B.E., I saw “Guess what day it is” on your FB page. Wizard does that to me too, LOL! Glad your your team won!

Editing can be a total time suck. Usually were in super-critical mode too, questioning every single decision.

    I’m so over the heat.

Kat, I’m thinking of you and your family. You’ve all been dealing with the complications of diabetes for a while now, and it’s got to be emotionally exhausting. I’m really pulling for the surgery to be success for your husband.

Ashlynn, you’re such an amazing woman. You’ve dealt with so much and yet continue to live the best life you can.

I’m thrilled to hear you’re writing for yourself. That’s something we lose once we publish to some degree. Hang onto that for as long as you can! I completely, totally understand wanting to be published, and I love my job, but there’s nothing as fulfilling as writing from the heart. And so often, that can lead to unexpected opportunities. Keep it up!

And thank you on my Plus One series and my son’s marriage :-)

Kat – My thoughts and prayers are always with you and your husband. I will say even more prayers tomorrow. What a blessing that you were able to drive him around this weekend to take it all in just in case. I’m sending you a great big hug. Know that we are all here for you.

It’s Monday. What can I say? The good news is, final edits (as far as I know–meaning the editor doesn’t find something horrible!) for SEASON OF THE WITCH are done. I have all the formatting back on THAT OL’ BLACK MAGIC. I spent the afternoon “wrassling” with ISBNs. Tomorrow begins the upload process across all platforms. I want a vacation. And a margarita. And cookies. Made with double chocolate.

So glad your weekend was quiet, Jen, and that your cowboy marine is cooperating. I’d hate to have to put a rope on him and hog tie ‘im. Just sayin’… ;)
