I want the cooler weather back! But today is supposed to cool off so I’ll stop complaining. I’m getting my Obsession file ready for the formatter and working on Cowboy Marine. And wow, getting back into Cowboy Marine is hard. I’m in my usual, write-delete-bang head on desk-write, then bake/eat/whine phase of starting a book. So all is normal in my house. Here’s a sample of “normal” in our house:
As we were cooking dinner the other night, Wizard said, “Something wrong witch?”
“You’re staring off into space. And muttering to yourself. I think you just said something about Doughboy fish hooks.”
Jerking out of my fugue, I stared at him. “That makes no sense. Why would I say that?”
Getting down a couple wine glasses, he asked, “Then what did you say?”
“Nothing.” I wasn’t in the mood to share my deep personal thoughts.
‘Fine, I’m not pouring you wine if you won’t tell me.”
Damn it. “Cheater.”
“I prefer the term winner. Spill or no wine.”
I’d have accused him of blackmail but he had custody of the wine bottle, so I caved. “Okay I said ‘cowboy fish hooks.” Where the heck did he get doughboy fish hooks? That’s just silly.
Wizard rolled his eyes and poured my wine. “Yeah, that makes so much more sense.”
“Try living in my head.” Hmm, that might have been snappish.
“I’m going to need more wine for that.”
Sadly, I’m going to have to agree with that. Although my drug of choice tends be coffee. But wine works too
And now, here’s our candidate for Wednesday Worthy!
Chris Hemsworth as Thor (Marvel Studios)
So what do you think? Is he worthy?

First – Chris is my go to for visuals in my head :)! So he is a great big YES!!!!!
You and Wizard are so funny. I love how he holds back the wine. I would have caved too. Love the wine. It’s easy to picture him with a befuddled look about cowboy fish hooks too;).
Hubs went in yesterday for a follow-up and all is looking good. He’s still “supposed” to be on soft food – right – good luck with that. MEN!
Having the driveway sealed today. And I think I’m going to bake pumpkin scones.
Have a great day!

If I heard you say ‘cowboy fish hooks’, I’d be confused, too. You guys kill me. I’m lucky my husband talks to himself, too, or we’d have endless conversations starting with ‘why did you say :insert weirdness:?’ Instead, he asks ‘what?’ and I say ‘talking to myself’ (or the other way around), and we leave it at that.
Chris is definitely worthy. And I’ve had a thing for Thor since I was reading comics back in the ’80s. =o)

Jen, your conversations with Wizard sound a lot like my and my hubby. I usually just get the raised eyebrow and he’ll shake his head. I bet the 4 of us together would be a hoot! lol
And Chris Hemsworth, let me see….YES! Duh! I have yet to create a character with his pic but I’m sure it will happen sometime. His brother isn’t too bad either.

Chris is totally worthy … ‘nuf said.
Glad to hear you’re walking around in a fugue too – sometimes I just go on autopilot as I cook dinner or clean the house ’cause you know my mind is elsewhere, surrounded by characters and scenes and songs and other ramblings – can’t say as I’ve ever spoken any of them out loud before but maybe I was just lucky enough to be alone at the time
Not sure how I missed your last few posts, I can’t recall seeing any in my inbox but then again, I’ve been a little muddled in the brain lately.
Have a great day Jen … and gals !

Okay…I know a lot about cowboys. And marines. But fish hooks? Yeah, I’m sorta with Wiz on this. I hope the wine helped! Hang in there on the start of the book. You’ll find your way soon enough. Can’t wait for OBSESSION!
Chris is ALWAYS worthy.
Viki, glad for the good report on the hubster! Yay!

Viki, great news on your hubby, except for trying to keep him on soft foods. I feel your pain there
I want pumpkin scones!
I can’t even explain cowboy fish hooks…

B.E., I’ve never read the comics and still have a thing for Thor
I confused myself, so you’re not alone. Wizard rarely talks to himself, but he does talk in his sleep, and that’s pretty funny. I’ve had actual conversations with him while he’s asleep, LOL!

Ashlynn, he has a brother? Wow I’m going to look for him!
Sounds like you and your hubby have fun together!

Ban, I talk to myself all the time, it’s a weird quirk. But I don’t do it in public…or I think I don’t
My site has been having some glitches, so that might be the reason it didn’t hit your inbox.
Glad to hear from you!

Silver, it was two separate thoughts merged into verbal-shorthand I say things out loud because, oddly enough, I then remember it. I know what Cowboy fish hooks means, but it’d just sound crazy if I tried to explain it.
Hey did I see that you got the print arcs for your book? I need more time to get on your actual FB page! If only I could catch up enough to hang out for awhile!

Yes, I have ARCs of SEASON OF THE WITCH. I plan on Halloween for a release date. One, to get THAT OL’ BLACK MAGIC a little more traction and two, I’m doing a reader event in Las Vegas the weekend of October 18-20 and attendees will have the chance to buy a copy early.
And if you need any help with cowboys, you know where I am!
