I’m trying to keep my head down and write. In the meantime, Wizard and I are discussing the whole concept of downsizing. The idea of selling our house gives me anxiety attacks, we’ve accumulated YEARS of stuff here. Stuff that will have to be dug out of dark holes in closets, sorted and disposed of.
That sounds suspiciously like HARD PHYSICAL WORK. And possibly, some tough decisions thrown in.
On the other hand, for two years I’ve wanted to clean out a lot of stuff. I’ve made some progress lately, but it’s not enough. Moving would force me to do it.
We’re not really serious, just talking. We like our house and aren’t in any hurry to make changes. But I really should clean out those closet. It’s time…except deadlines are an awesome excuse to avoid that hard physical work and tough decisions I don’t want to make
Now in a totally random comment–I love YouTube for research! This weekend I was watching some amazing videos on sculpting. Since I can’t do anything remotely artistic (unless we consider writing artistic), it’s amazing to watch people who can!
How was your weekend?

I hear you on the downsizing. I don’t want to do it either. I too like my house but we really do need to get rid of tons of stuff. Funny how it just keeps adding up :). My youngest is great at dumping things. Maybe I’ll enlist him.
Didn’t do much this weekend. We got over 16 inches of snow and it’s been very cold. It’s blowing like crazy right now and supposed to get really cold again. Oh well – it’s winter ;).
Let us know when you get your computer.
I hope you have a fantastic day!

LOL, moving will certainly clean things out for you. Then you can acquire new things! And if you don’t want to really move, then act like you’re moving and be ruthless with the stuff you already have. Pretend everything’s gotta fit in a certain size truck. Word of caution, though, choose wisely. I meant to take my old Heinlein paperbacks, but they must’ve ended up in the ‘give’ boxes by mistake.
Good for you, keeping your head down and writing. And taking to the YouTubes to research sculpting. What a great idea! =o)
The weekend basically turned out like I thought it would. I wrote a lot on Saturday (I took yesterday off), read a lot all weekend, tromped through the woods, etc. I also spent some time researching rocks, but that was personal. Our property is very rock strewn and I’m trying to figure out what some of this is.

I have one word for you: Grandchildren. Yeah…clear out stuff now but keep room for the next generation to visit. If you just think the granddogs like to visit, wait until you have the two-legged variety.
I caught Lawyer Guy’s upper respiratory flu/crap/stuff. I’m up but barely. I have a couple of things I have to do and then I’m headed back to bed.

Viki, 16 inches of snow? Wow that’s brutal! Hope you’re staying warm!
Much of the crap in my house is the kid’s stuff. But some of it is ours too so I guess I can’t blame it all on the kids
The computer has shipped so I should have it by the end of the week. Once we’re up and running I’ll be very happy!

B.E., that’s right you did it bigtime! We’d be moving close by which is a lot simpler. Bit still…downsizing is tough. What do I do with my grandmothers china? Keep it and make room? I’m not ready to part with it yet I rarely ever use it.
Rocks? That might turn out to be really interesting. You never know until you dig in!
Yay for getting a chunk of writing done on Saturday.

Silver, we’d still have two extra bedrooms, where not thinking of downsizing that much–more like to a one story
I was thinking of you this weekend when I kept coming across people sick with that crud. I hope you get back to bed soon, rest and get well quickly.
