Weekend was good, there’s just never enough time. But I finally got to hang out with my friend and start shopping for a dress for the RITA Awards (Her Temporary Hero was nominated for a RITA). We had a blast, were gone for hours, and came home.
Wizard, looked us both over and said, “Seriously you bought nothing?”
“Well she bought lip gloss,” I said.
He rolled his eyes. “You were gone for HOURS. I still think you should wear the red dress you already have.”
He just doesn’t get it. LOL. I found two dresses that I really liked. One I ruled out after I realized I had glitter-sparkles all over me from trying that dress on. That will get annoying so I eliminated that dress. I’m seriously considering the other one while looking at more online now that I have a better idea of my size.
So today the guys are coming back to paint and by the end of the day, the kitchen should be fully restored after the water leak. I’ll be hiding and working in my “corner office” which literally is just a chair in a corner of a bedroom :-). I’m in the last hundred pages of revising, then I’ll do one clean up pass and send it back to the editor.
Now it’s your turn! How was your weekend?

Men just don’t get that sometimes we have to spend time trying stuff on – which doesn’t always equate to buying stuff. I’m so glad you finally got a chance to do that. You’ll find the right dress and look totally awesome, and then he’ll see why you took so long. (But he still won’t understand it. LOL) Yay for getting the kitchen finished so you can get back to normal. LOL about your corner office.
The weekend was a blur again. I did stuff. I watched stuff. The only reading I managed was my own stuff, even though I bought some really awesome books at the used bookstore in town. I’ll use those as a treat for when this book is finally ready for publishing.

Guh. I hate shopping for clothes. I’m hoping I can make do with what I have for NYC. I’m still so freaking excited you finaled in the RITA! Can’t wait to see you there!
I did the Jammie thing with Stormageddon (Sprout’s new moniker) on Saturday. Sunday morning was frustrating as I dealt with stupid stuff then Sunday afternoon, I finally got NIGHT SHIFT formatted for .pdf (review copies) and for print. Waiting on one bit of art for the end graphic and the print cover from Only. I plan to release the print version on June 1. I’ve tentatively set July 1 as the release for DOUBLE CROSS, first book in the Hard Target series. My life is words at the moment. LOLOL OH! And I’m reading an interesting new series about dragon shifters. It’s fun so far.

I admire your tenacity on shopping for a new dress. I’m like Silver, really hate shopping unless I have to. But so happy for the RITA nomination. You so deserve it!
Can I say how much I can’t wait for Cage?! Have I mentioned that? Hm, well I CAN’T WAIT!
Me, release day for Wreck is this Thursday. So kinda going nuts there. Also trying to figure out my schedule for next DirtSlap book. How come I’m looking at a pub date of Sept and feel like I’ve run out of time?? (when you add in time with editor, cover artist and all) I will probably push it back to Oct. (seeing how I only have about 3k words written on it!)

I have my fingers crossed that the painting is finished and the kitchen is all back in order :).
Good thing you tried the dress on that left glitter on you. It would drive me crazy too being covered in sparkles ( heck – I might think I’m a vampire ). What color is the dress you may go back for?
Men are clueless as to dresses. You know, suits either fit or they don’t. Dresses on the other hand all fit depending on the manufacturer/designer. Wizard is so funny – that red dress is nice – men!
When I go shopping with my girlfriend I never buy anything but she always spends a mint. Hubs is totally shocked too. But I don’t but things just to buy.
Nothing special this past weekend. This weekend we’re celebrating youngest son and hubs birthdays. That will make up for the past couple boring weekends ;).
Love the cover!
I hope you’re having a fantastic day!
