Weekend Roundup

I’m just about halfway through writing Savaged Vows! I’m a bit behind time wise, but I refuse to think about that and just keep working. I’m eating, sleeping and breathing this book. Like my Wing Slayers and Plus One Chronicles, this story is driving me relentlessly.

But I still took time off for family :-) Saturday night, we went to a brewery to celebrate Youngest (BLB’s) birthday. Although we were wondering if Wizard would be able to do it, he did really well and we had fun!  We couldn’t stay as long as we normally would, but the kids understood. They were just thrilled to see their dad doing better. However, even though it was a brewery, I opted for a glass of wine. I am NOT a beer drinker. I just can’t acquire a taste for beer.  But I had fun watching the others try extremely weird flavors of beer :-)  Wizard didn’t drink at all, of course. Back surgery recovery and alcohol are not a good mix.

Sunday I made a killer Chocolate Kahlua Pound Cake and let me just say this–Wizard’s appetite is back! He ate two pieces yesterday. Unfortunately I overindulged too and need to get my butt back to the gym real soon here.

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Yay for progress! Yeah, don’t think about where you thought you ought to be by now. There’s a staller right there. Keep chugging forward. You’ve got this. Yay for Wizard and for BLB’s birthday, and for cake. Always for cake. Feel free to overnight express the rest to me. =oD

We did some outside work this weekend, clearing flower beds and getting ready for Spring. It’s been gorgeous here and the forecast is for more unseasonably warm weather for the next 3 months. So, no snow! Yay. I hooked the biggest fish I ever almost caught, which was exciting and frustrating. I saw it in the water, and then it got off. Argh. I also got some good words out and wrote a very important scene last night that I realize now I rushed through to get to the next very important plot point. Eh, that’s what editing is for, right? Things are flying hot and fast in this book. Weeee.

B.E., thanks for the encouragement, that’s what I’m doing :-)

Glad you’re enjoying the warm weather. Sorry your big one got away though. However sounds like you nailed a big plot point so that’s a win for you.

    Have a great Monday!

It’s true, when you’re working on a book you are focused :). Glad you’re making strides.

So glad that you all went out for BLB’s birthday. Wizard must be coming along really well to have gone out twice in one week for dinner. Totally understand you leaving early. No matter how lovely the place is the seating must have been hard on Wizard. When we go to breweries I get wine too ;).

That cake looked so good yesterday I wanted to snag a piece through the ipad ;).

How did you guys make out with the rain this past weekend? Our weather has been so strange – very warm. We were in the mid 70’s Sat. Crazy climate.

Hope you have a really nice evening :).

Viki, Wizard is doing well. He started PT last Friday, and is really trying. He gets frustrated, and I’m keep reminding him how far he’s come. We still won’t know for weeks if the nerve pain will completely go away.

Thanks on the cake :-) I’m doing my best to ignore it now. I had enough yesterday.

We’re fine in the rain. It’s much worse north of us, though. I’m very grateful we’re getting the rain we need, but here you guys and a few other spots are unseasonably warm. Mother Nature is confused.

    Have a great night!
