Friday Five

It’s time for Friday Five:

  1. Wowzers, did we get rain! I think the worst of it is over as I type this, but Yikes! We were worried, and a few miles down the road from us, the runoff was so bad, it collapsed the foundation of a house. The street that divides us from the hills is closed with mud, but we’re fine so far! Talk about Murphy’s Law–we’re in a drought for years, then we have a massive forest fire, followed by the most rain in a decade or more!
  2. Very little writing :-( My restructure is working so far, but I need a breakthrough here. Next week!
  3. Happy Belated Valentines Day to everyone! Wizard and I planned to have dinner at a little Italian place my our house. I’m writing this blog before we leave, but that’s the plan unless we can’t get there due to road closures rom the rain.
  4. All this rain makes Maggie sad. She misses her walks, and sticks close to us.
  5. We’re celebrating Youngest son’s birthday this weekend. We’re having all the family to my house, but I’m keeping it pretty simple. I’ll be baking some non-dairy cookies which is a first, so we’ll see how that turns out. Youngest is so forgiving, I’m not too worried.

So that’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours!

Ack! I hope the worst is over. Dry thoughts headed your way. And breakthrough thoughts, too! I hope you two got to have your Val Day dinner out. Poor Maggie. And Happy Birthday to Youngest Son! Good luck with those cookies. =o)

    1) We’re supposed to have a rain/freezing rain/snow mix today. I stocked the house yesterday in anticipation, so we don’t have to go anywhere.
    2) This stupid cold has taken over my life. I’m almost done with it, but meh.
    3) I have plans to make Salisbury Steak tonight. Something new for us. We’ll see. I might get lazy and just make meatloaf.
    4) Ugh, that’s the story of my week – lazy.
    5) And I have nothing else for my five. Sorry they were lame this week.

B.E, thanks, I especially need the breakthrough thoughts–although I got a glimmer this morning. Okay, let’s talk about you:

    1) You were smart to get prepped so you could hunker down today.
    2) Huge sympathies on the cold! Those viruses are draining and hang on way too long. Hope you feel better soon!
    3) I vote for you making whatever’s easiest for you. You have a cold! They suck!
    4) Sick is not lazy! Rest is better so you don’t get a secondary infection (bronchitis, sinus infections, etc).
    5) Lame is better than bad news, right???

I really do hope you rest up this weekend and kick the cold. Then you can take on the world :-)

    1. Man that rain you’ve been having is awful. I saw that house in your town go down on the news early this morning :(. So sad. Glad you are safe.
    2. Here’s to the breakthrough coming next week.
    3. I hope you and Wizard were able to go out for dinner last night.
    4. Poor Maggie. I can imagine how she misses her walks :(.
    5. Happy birthday to BLB. Have a great time celebrating. Tell us how the cookies turn out :).

1a. Once again my lower back is killing me and I didn’t do anything. I stood up Wednesday and that was that. I’m good standing so that’s what I’m doing ;).
2a. Went out for a drink last night with hubs former assistant. Hadn’t seen her in 5 years. She’s looking good :).
3a. Valentine’s dinner was pizza and wine :).
4a. Harrison is now free range. The play yard has been taken down and only the TV is blocked off. Man is he having fun.
5a. I think I “need” oatmeal raisin cookies ;). Must bake them Sunday.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe and dry.

Viki, you saw it there? Wow, our little town gets around :-) Yeah, it’s been dramatic. And thanks, we did go to dinner and had a good time. Maggie got two walks today, so she’s happy again. Now for you:

    1) Your poor back! I really feel for you. I hope it settles down, and whatever is acting up, heals so it doesn’t happen again.
    2) That’s always fun to catch up!
    3) Pizza and wine is Italian too–we had a theme going.
    4) Yay Harrison is free!! LOL! I can see why a busy, curious toddler boy would love it!
    5) Cookies are important. I hope you get a chance to bake them!

I really hope your back heals quickly so you can sit and lay down comfortably. Have a good weekend (if that’s possible with back pain).
