Friday Five

Happy Friday! It’s time to share five random things about our week, here’s mine:

  1. Yesterday was Wizard’s birthday. We went to a steak and lobster dinner. The lobster was amazing! We had a great time together.
  2. Yesterday on my walk with Maggie, I fell. Sigh…I’m fine. I was winding around the edge of the mostly dry creek bed, and stepped on a soft spot that gave way. I slid, and hit my left arm and shoulder, but it wasn’t full impact since it was a sliding-fall. And thankfully, I didn’t hit a rock! I imagine I’ll be a bit sore today but I don’t think I did any damage except to my pride.
  3. Allergy season is here :-(  Even Maggie sneezes a couple of times on our walks. Benadryl is my new friend. I’ve never had allergies this bad.
  4. Maggie stood like this for five minutes because she believed there was a lizard hiding in that plant. I wish I could concentrate on my book like she does on finding lizards!
  5. This weekend we’re going to Middle Son’s house to continue celebrating Wizard’s birthday.

That’s my Friday 5, now I’d love to hear yours! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy Birthday, Wizard! Ugh, I hate falling. I hope the only thing you really hurt was your pride. Bummer about the allergies – yay for Benadryl, though. LOL, Maggie is part pointer! Good girl. Have fun with your celebrations this weekend!

    1) I gave myself a good mental talking-to and got back to editing finally. Not sure why I need to give myself an ass-kicking every now and then, but it seems to work.
    2) How did it get to be Friday again already?
    3) My gardens are starting to come to life again, which gives me a serious happy. I love Spring.
    4) The other day I was driving out to the bait shop when I saw what I thought was a brown and white dog by the side of the road up ahead of me. I slowed down in case the dog decided it was going to cross in front of my car. It lifted its head to look at me and it was actually a bald eagle. Shocked the stuffing out me, lemme tell ya. He must’ve found something tasty in the ditch and was hunched over to eat it. He took off and flew away with an irritated look in his eyes. Sorry to have disturbed your snack, Dude.
    5) It’s Wallyworld day. The freezer is totally Ol’ Mother Hubbard and I’m out of snacks. Life’s rough when you have no snacks. I made a batch of cookies yesterday, but that wasn’t what I was hankering for after all. Chips. I need chips.

Who’s a good girl!?! And who had a happy birthday?!! Ugh on the fall. Hope you aren’t too sore. And now I want lobster. Okay, my five:

    1. Bradford pears. Hate them. They’ve clogged up the whole family. And because they bloom early and are hardy, they’re EVERYWHERE! Yards, medians, parks. Gah!

    2. Spent Wednesday in the VA ER with LG. He had a cardiac episode. No surgery. He has a zombie heart. No, seriously. True–if long–story. For now, meds and observation.

    3. Baseball Boy’s B-day was the 4th. We’ll celebrate this weekend.

    4. Heard from Mr. Ed. Proposal for Cooper’s story accepted, check “in the mail.” Yay. I can put food on the table and pay some bills. Been really slow $$-wise on the self-pub side.

    5. I’m thinking about revising an old RomSusp MS, making it more gothic and publishing it as a Southern Gothic romance, which seems to be popular right now and it won’t take much to revise cuz it’s already set in New Orleans and has ghosts and lots of creep factor.

That’s my five. Have pancake breakfast at the post and siren test (provided the forecast storms don’t hit because setting off sirens to test during a T-storm tends to scare teh natives. ) Have a great weekend, everyone!

    1. Loved the photos of you and Wizard out celebrating his birthday. Looks like you had a good time. Did an uber drive you home ;)?

    2. Ouch! It’s good that you slid rather than all out fall. You must have saved yourself some damage. How are you feeling today?

    3. It bet all the rain you had has prompted more plants to grow and thus more pollen. Yuck!

    4. Gotta love Maggie. The concentration is intense :).

    5. Have a wonderful time continuing to celebrate Wizard birthday at Middle Son’s house.

1a. Had my car washed the other day because it was supposed to rain yesterday not today. I had to go out today so it didn’t rain yesterday and it did today :(.

2a. Really not in the mood for fish tonight but hubs is an RC, therefore no meat. Guess it will be Swai.

3a. Youngest is taking me to a basketball game Sunday. Haven’t been to one since they won the championship a few years ago. They stink now but it’s still fun to go.

4a. I keep eating jelly beans. Don’t tell chocolate ;).

5a. While out shopping today I picked up the market flyer and got a paper cut. How dumb is that and it bled all over my grocery bag and other stuff. So gross.

Have a great weekend. Hubs is about to open some wine for little old me :)!

B.E., Maggie looks like a pointer when she focuses like that! Other times, she’s all silly chihuahua :-)

    1) Wow you really know hot to kick your own butt, LOL! I’m going to borrow that!
    2) No idea how it’s Friday again.
    3) Spring flowers are a joy.
    4) Amazing to see the owl like that!
    5) Ugh on Wallyworld. I generally like to go early before most people are functioning enough to irritate me, LOL!

Hope you got your chips and enjoy your weekend!

Silver, the lobster was great, I’m mildly sore and Maggie always thinks she’s a good girl :-)

    1) I feel your clogged up pain!
    2) Okay I looked up zombie heart; I had an idea but yeah, that’s a sucky issue. I hope the meds help LG. Surgery isn’t fun, but if it can help, it’s worth it. I’m so sorry you guys are going through this–hugs.
    3) Happy Birthday to Baseball Boy., He and Wizard have the same b-day
    4) AWESOME NEWS ON YOUR PROPOSAL AND CHECK IN THE MAIL!!
    5) Revise it!! It sounds like you’re getting some of your mojo back!

Have a great time celebrating BB’s birthday, the siren tests, pancake breakfast and hopefully no storms!

Viki, we had a great time at Wizard’s birthday, and no uber :-) I didn’t drink much of mine, I really just tasted. But I ate almost all my lobster! I’m only mildly sore in my neck and back and consider myself lucky!

    1) Of course the hain held of until you washed your car. :-(
    2) Hubby can have pasta on Fridays right? I dislike fish so that’s usually my choice, or cheese pizza :-) (Wizard and his fam or catholic)
    3) Sounds like fun with Youngest!
    4) Well crap, I’d forgotten we have jelly beans until I read your comment. Now i’ve had cake and jelly beans. I’m throwing my sale out!
    5) Ouch!! Those paper cuts bleed and hurt! Sometimes, if the cut’s in the right place, it keeps hurt for a few days just to annoy you too. Sorry for your paper cut!

I hope you have fun with Youngest at the basketball game, and a great weekend!
