My weekend highlights were Turbo, new washer and dryer, temporarily repaired tooth, cookies and words! A busy one!
First, my dentist was awesome. Despite my worries that the cracks in the tooth around my old filling went too deep to save the tooth, all I needed was a crown. Yay! Ninety minutes of drilling, etc wasn’t fun, especially for my neck, but worth it. The temporary crown is on, and I’ll get the permanent one in two weeks.
Saturday, I went to see Turbo while Wizard stayed home for the washing machine and dryer delivery. I’m surprised he didn’t seem to mind because he’s our grandson’s #1 fan. But Wizard told me to go have fun and not to worry. So I did and OMG that boy is a fountain of amazing energy and curiosity! We played and played and played while his dad went into the office (tax season) and his mom got some meal prepping done. It was so much fun, but by the time I got home, I was exhausted, LOL! Although I will say this about my Grandma Skills: Turbo loves playing cars and trucks, and after raising three boys, I am really good at playing cars and trucks! So there I was, crawling all over the house, making engine sounds with my cars. I should have had Special K video it to show you all, LOL!
When I got home, the washer and dryer were all in, set up and ready to show off their skills. So far, the machines have worked great through four loads of laundry. We are both relieved after a year or so of struggling machines that sometimes worked, and sometimes refused.
Sunday, Wizard went off to race with middle son, and I hung out with Maggie, made cookies and wrote some words. I’m reweaving the story, using some old scenes (with rewrites), writing news one and beginning to see a really solid big pictures. It’s a slow and tough process but as long as I stay on track, and keep believing in myself, I’ll get there. I’m already past the 250 page mark Once this book is done, I’ll get over the invisible mental mountain that I dropped in my own way.
Oh and the cookies! I really craved something that had a “chew” to it and dark chocolate. Because I had all the ingredients on hand, I made these oatmeal pumpkin cookies but I substituted a heaping cup of dark chocolate chips for the pecans (I can’t eat nuts with the temporary crown). They really satisfied my craving, so it’s a win for me.
So that was my weekend, how was yours?

Sounds like you had an awesome weekend. Yay!
I gave myself a mental butt-kicking over the weekend and got back to work. Not huge gains, but better than nothing. I think I need regularly scheduled butt-kickings to keep myself on track because without them I tend to wander away and fall into the same ol’ hole. Other than that, I did some work outside, cleaning up an area we’ve previously not touched. Tackling the big wild rose bush was an interesting battle, but I won this round and only have a few battle scrapes. (Roses are mean.) I still need to hack at it again, but I have other battles before I go back at that thing. I got the yard side done, so Hubs can mow without getting attacked. Big fun out here. =o)

Sounds like you had a weekend full of win! Yay!
I finished the first section of the current project. I’m debating on where to add some new material and thinking a “bridge novella” will be the right place…looking back in a retrospective way. I’ll play with it today.
I didn’t get out this weekend. I made a grocery run on Friday and the one thing I didn’t get that we needed, LG picked up for me yesterday while he was out and about.
The weekend was pretty boring but for LIVE PD and listening to GOLDEN IN DEATH. Oh, and finishing up the first 1/3 of MOONSTRUCK: BETRAYAL.
Have a productive week, everyone!

Very happy to hear that the dentist appointment went well and that you still have your tooth. A crown is a pain but better than a post. When do you get the permanent crown?
I know how worn out you must have been. Every time hubs comes home from watching Harrison he crashes :). The little ones never stop. Good for you getting down on the floor to play trucks. I bet you two had tons of fun.
And I bet you had fun doing laundry in your new machines too. It’s always fun the first few times we use a new “toy.” How nice of Wizard to volunteer to stay home for the delivery and to make sure all was ready to go for when you got home.
Sounds like the book is talking to you and coming along :).
Middle son picked me up Saturday morning but stuck around an hour first because the new printer showed up Friday night. Being my computer kid he set it all up for me. Good thing he was here too. The print cartridges have a plastic cap on them that my hands are to weak to pull off. I was very happy kid did it for me.
We had a very nice going all over the place. We got chocolate and went to the Amish cheese store and then out for lunch. After that we went to the local shelter so I could drop off old towels and a couple cat beds. Then we just drove around so he could see all his old haunts ;).
I hope you have a great afternoon!

B.E, lol on roses being mean! I’ve felt the bite myself on occasion. Otherwise, sounds like you did some serious taming of your lands!
This year, I’m trying to move forward with positivity and permission to write crap. Mental butt-kickings worked in my past, but just made me feel worse lately. Whatever works is the method to use!
Happy Monday!

Silver, “Bridge novella?” so like a separate novella? I feel like I should know this, but fried my brain today or something, LOL.
Isn’t it awesome when our husbands run errands for us so we can work or whatever? It’s so easy to forget one or two items on our lists.
Yay for your progress on BETRAYAL!
Hope your week is off to a good start!

Viki, I get the permanent crown a week from Friday. This temp one is so good, my biggest problem so far is remembering to be careful
I feel for your hubs after playing with Harrison! I did some laundry and cooked dinner, but that was it after a morning full of Turbo Fun.
I hate that your suffering so much you’re struggling to open the ink. I’ve been there, and know how frustrating it is. However, you middle is awesome! My kids still do stuff like that for me even when my pain is under control. Our kids make our lives so much easier and brighter! Hope your new printers works well for you.
I don’t think I’ve ever had Amish cheese, but I’d sure try it! And you can’t go wrong with chocolate I’m happy to hear you and your son enjoyed your day together.
My afternoon is going well–it’s been a busy day, but I got in a couple hours of writing. Hope you have a nice evening!
