Friday Five

TGIF! I think it’s Friday? I don’t know anymore…but let’s assume it is and jump into sharing five random things about our week.

  1. There’s something I’ve been wanting to get off my chest for a while, and here it is: WIZARD STEALS MY WORDS! It happens all the time. I’ll make a comment at home that he laughs at, then the next thing I know, he’s turned it into a FB post AND MAKES IT SOUND LIKE HE SAID IT!!! It’s been a week or two since he’s done it, but it’s all true!
  2. Maggie got a bath yesterday. I made the appointment at the place we always take her to because I’m afraid to cut her nails, and Wizard took her. She came home so pretty and sweet smelling. She was pretty rank after going through surgery and recovery.
  3. So after our dog fight adventure, Maggie seems fine. She clearly wasn’t bitten or too terrorized. I, however, was walking in the field when I heard a rustle next to me and dang near jumped out of my skin. It was a freaking plastic bag! LOLOL!!! So I can handle a charging dog, but not a plastic bag :-)
  4. I’m reading Silver James’sĀ  book Twice the Temptation and loving it!
  5. Turbo and his mom are probably coming over on Sunday to visit. CPA Boy is in tax season so he won’t make it. Happily, Special K has no problem visiting us without him, and that’s something that Wizard and I truly appreciate. I’m keeping any plans loose, but if we run out of things to do, I’ll make cookies with Turbo :-) However, I suspect Grandpa and Turbo will be playing, giving Special K and I time to plot world domination.

That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend!

Ugh, shame on Wizard. I post fun things Hubs says, but I always tell people it was him. :points accusatory finger at Wizard: Word Thief! Yay for squeaky-clean Maggie! Yay for her being fine, too. Bummer about the bag, though. A little PTSD for you there, eh? Yay for reading Silver’s book! It’s awesome. Yay for Turbo Time!

    1) This morning we were awakened at butt-early o’clock by an Amber Alert being sent to my phone… for St. Louis, which is like 4 and a half hours from here. Umm, not cool, dudes.
    2) I made apple bread yesterday using a different recipe and totally confused myself. I thought it made one loaf so I put all the batter into one pan. Then I thought maybe it was for two loaves, so I scooped half the batter out and put it in another pan. But it looked piddlin’, so I put it back in one pan, then read the damn recipe and it SAID 2 loaves, so I halved it again. My brain… sometimes… I swear.
    3) I’m working on edits. Maybe that’s why my brain is all screwy.
    4) Yesterday was a Wallyworld trip. Mayve THAT’s why.
    5) I think I need to go fishing.

Speaking of stealing words… B.E. took them right off the tips of my fingers. ;) And I’m so thrilled you’re enjoying 3T. Yay! I am really going to have to dig for five things.

    1. I’ve lost a little weight. Not much but every ounce down is a good thing.

    2. Jake and I went to Wallyworld this morning. He made some new friends, visited with old friends, and then got his puppucino from Starbucks. He’s such a good boy!

    3. LG had a Very Bad Day yesterday. Long story, totally external BS stuffs, but he was late getting home and dinner was long because he needed to “debrief.” That meant the dogs were off schedule for their dinner. As I’m standing there at the stove frying their hamburger patties, I’m struck with inspiration. I’m dashing back and forth between the kitchen and my office to jot words and turn the burgers so they don’t burn. Got them fed, then finished up the scene. About six other “independent” scenes clicked into place in the timeline. All I’ll say is that between LG and Network, the phrase “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!” churned things up. Yayayayay!

    4. Have I mentioned that it looks like EmCee (Momma Cat) had this spring’s litter? She’s back to skinny and appearing for food first thing. The whole *cauldron plus Smudge are around.

    5. Tomorrow is First Saturday. Yay! Pancakes, siren test, and Mexican food. The whole gang is gathering to celebrate my b-day. LG and I will probably come home and nap all afternoon after all that food!

Have a great weekend, everyone! šŸ„°

*Since they’re all black cats, I call them a cauldron rather than a colony or a clowder. But I have to add Smudge seperately because he’s a gray fuzzy stripe. Poor Smudge.

    1. Naughty Wizard stealing your words. But it is very flattering that he thinks you were quite right and copies your words as his own.
    2. I bet Maggie enjoyed her bath and and being all beautified šŸ’•. Smelling better appealed to you but not likely to her.
    3. Smart to get right back out to the walks. I see you jumping out of your shoes to the sound of that bag šŸ˜†. It would happen to me too.
    4. Nice to Silver’s book!
    5. Cookie baking with Turbo will be so much fun! What kind are you going to make? Enjoy them!

1a. My girlfriend came up from FL to help stage her daughter’s house for sale. It took forever to find a time we could meet. Much had to be done with the house and said daughter and soon to be Ex did not keep the place up. Bestie and I had coffee at the only place in the village that would let us sit down. It was 20F we weren’t sitting by the Falls. Had a nice visit.
2a. Middle son is coming over tomorrow morning after a sleep study he’s having tonight to determine if he has sleep apnea. We haven’t seen him since before Christmas. Can’t wait!
3a. Tomorrow is also Harrison’s mom’s birthday. Yesterday the two of them baked her cake. He had a blast. They topped it with bacon – I am not a fan. But I won’t be eating it ;).
4a. Lobster bisque for dinner tonight and I am ready for it. It’s a pretty sunny blue sky day but cold so the bisque will be good.
5a. Middle son is going to fix my router tomorrow so that my computer will pick up the correct signal (guess the router throws off two signals) and my speed will get up to 100 Mb. Looking forward to seeing the change :).

Have a great weekend and have tons of fun with Turbo and DIL.

B.E., Wizard flat out tells me, “I’m gonna steal that” then he does :-)

    1) That’s really annoying they’d issue an Amber Alert for so far away.
    2) LOL, I’ve done stuff like that too. Confusing myself is a hobby.
    3) Edits would do it!
    4) So will Walmart. I only go when I need to.
    5) Fishing would be great for you!

I hope you have a nice weekend!

Silver, the book is perfect for this week. Insomnia from sore muscles left me tired and unable to focus well, and your book is exactly what I need.

    1) As long as you wanted to lose the weight, then it’s a positive.
    2) Jake is so lucky to not only have so many friends, but he gets a puppucino!
    3) I was waiting to see if you burned the meat patties, but you didn’t! Yay for the scenes even if you did run yourself ragged.
    4) No! I don’t think I knew she had her babies! I’m sure she has then tucked away somewhere warm and safe. Bet your wishing you could see them :-)
    5) Fun Saturday coming up! Enjoy!

And yep, I knew why you called them a cauldron. Have a great weekend!

Viki, I have stuff for chocolate chip cookies on hand I think, so we’ll do that if he’s bored. But I suspect Wizard will be playing with him, which is also good. I’ll be happy either way.

    1) That sounds like a huge project for your girlfriend, and she’s a good mom to help her daughters out through this tough time. It sounds like she’s splitting form her husband and that can’t be easy. Glad the two of you found time, and a place, to meet up!
    2) Yay for getting to see Middle, but sorry he’s going through sleep issues. Hope they are resolved.
    3) Harrison loves baking with his mom, doesn’t he? I’ve never really gotten the whole bacon thing on sweets either, but to each his own. By the way, first time I ever heard of that YEARS ago was at a publisher cocktail party. I had to pretend I wasn’t horrified by the idea of chocolate and bacon, LOL!
    4) I’m pretty sure lobster bisque is one of your favorites, so enjoy!
    5) Middle son should be able to get that set up for you. Faster internet is always a good thing.

    Have a good weekend!
